One of the homes we lived in when I was young (a long time ago) was on a good sized piece of property with lots of apple trees. I remember going out as a six to eight year old, seeing a nice ripe apple and just picking it off and enjoying it right there on the spot. They were so juicy and had SO much flavor.

Many times they look really ripe but, like the peaches I bought yesterday, I almost broke a tooth trying to bite into them; they were that hard. If you have tasted fresh food in the past, or you would like to know what food tastes like when it is picked ripe, or just because it is good for the local economy, today’s web site will help you find your local home grown fruits and vegetables.
You can click on your state and then zoom into your local area and get a listing of farmers' markets, family farms, restaurants, groceries “and other sources of sustainably grown food in your area, where you can buy produce, grass-fed meats, and many other goodies.” They also show you where they are on the map.
Through a link to our local area I am joining a
Enjoy the real taste of fruits and vegetables again or for the first time.
