Think outside the box as to what to do with these things... When you run out of family members to pass things on to, don't store them--recycle them.
--- Scott Matthews

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.   --- Unknown

A box of crayons and a big sheet of paper provide a more expressive medium for kids than computerized paint programs. ---Clifford Stoll,

We have adaptive materials we have to buy for our preschool classes. That can be expensive. We need adaptive crayons with a knob on top of each one for a child to grasp. We need loop scissors and basic things like glue sticks that are huge so our kids can grab them. --- Fran Harmon

My intention this week is to inspire you.  Possibly to think of a place where they would have left over crayons and then to ask at least one of those places (or more) if you could give them a box to collect the crayons in and then pick them up periodically and send them to Crazy Crayons.

I liked this when I found the web site but got even more inspired by Fran Harmon’s quote above, while looking for quotes for this week.    I had never thought about the need for crayons in special shapes for special needs.

If you check out their other pages they also use the old crayons to make Fire Starters.

HAVE A COLORFUL WEEK!
