God Given Daisies — by
I Profess
Many people start the new year
off with promising themselves that they would live out, and stick to, their new
year resolutions. Some fail the first few days or week, and give up. I believe
that God gives us a new day, every day, to begin again, fresh and new.
If you failed yesterday, it is over. Start again,
right here and now.
This year I profess, to declare, acknowledge and
appreciate all gifts given to me by God.
Every little thing!
From the sun shinning through
the darkest of clouds, to the car starting immediately on the coldest of days.
I started reading Daily Guidepost 2008 (Large Print Edition). Thank you God, that they accommodate our aging eyes. To quote them:
Life is full
of surprises and to keep that sense of wonder alive and lively, we've made ‘Surprised
by God’ our theme this year in Daily Guidepost 2008.
Sixty three
writers will explore some of the countless ways in which God is with us every
day, sometimes surprising us with the unmistakable touch of His hand to
comfort, heal and encourage.
At the end
of each month there is a list for the reader to fill out, called "My
Devine Surprises." They encourage
each person to "Be open to the possibilities of God's surprises."
In the last few weeks I have seen the hand of God in some seemingly impossible situations. But God, was and is, there in every situation.
When I was doing teen counseling, I would ask them
if they would act the same, or would they be afraid if God was in the room? Of
course they would answer "No! There wouldn't be any reason to feel afraid
if God Almighty was here.”
My answer to that comment would be “Well guys He's
here! He is always with you! He will never leave you, and He believes in you
and that you can overcome anything with His help, cause with God ‘All things
are possible.’”
My New Year's resolution is to profess, declare,
acknowledge, and appreciate all of God's gifts… The people He sends my way, the
daily blessings He showers upon me, and the opportunity to share Him with you.
Have a Blessed New Year filled with God's Glory, Love, and Surprises.
