The Three C's:
Choices, Character,
and Conduct

Working with troubled teens for many years I find myself still picking words that say the most in the shortest form and then trying to get people to elaborate on their meaning.

Three of my favorite words then, and now, are: choices, character and conduct.

Choices:  "The choices we make set which path we walk."  — Kenneth J. Elligon

Character and Conduct:  "Conduct is what we do; Character is what we are." — E. M. Bounds

The site CharacterCounts.org  teaches the six pillars of character.  They are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.

There are even sites that teach ethics… Ethics in business, ethics in public administration, and ethics in sports.

As these things are taught more in our society, people will be happier.  We will believe in mankind more, and not be as skeptical when someone does something nice without looking for a reward.

When we give freely, we do reap the rewards in recognizing our own self-worth and blessings we receive.

And yes we can make a difference in the world today and in someone's life along the way ... and it's all free.  It will not cost us one dime to accomplish.

We can be trustworthy. We can treat all people with respect and fairness. We can show responsibility and caring in our homes and in the communities in which we live, and being good citizens of the community, the nation, the earth and the universe.

And today, right now, this very minute, you can make a difference in someone's life... It doesn't cost anything.  It's a great choice and shows great character and conduct...

SMILE!
