God Given Daisies — by Carole Devecka
Tomorrows are not guaranteed to
us. No one knows for sure what tomorrow will bring. In fact, from moment to moment, life as we
know it, can change.
With all the craziness in the
world today, don’t wait to say “I’m sorry” or “Thank
you”, “I’m thinking about you” “I appreciate you, and the things you do.” And
especially, do not wait to say, “I love you.”
Some people feel foolish saying
these things. Others are ashamed that they never said any of them. Some live
with the pain that they should have said all these words, and now that person
is gone.
Only God knows what is in our
hearts and in our minds. Us mere mortals, need to hear
it, see it, feel it.
I was taking care of a dying
cancer patient and she was telling me that she feared drying because in life
she wasn’t a very nice person. I told
her that her life wasn’t over yet and she had the time to ask everyone, one by
one, for their forgiveness.
God was giving her the
opportunity to tell all the people she cared about that she really did love
them, but never knew how to say it and show it, and that she was truly sorry if
she caused them any anguish or pain.
Some she called and only left a
message. Some she spoke with directly. She cried, they cried.
After the tears came the smile.
A peaceful
smile.
Anger in her face disappeared.
Fear disappeared.
Kelly died with a smile on her
face knowing she did the right thing and she “Didn’t Wait.”
