God Given Daisies — by Carole Devecka
“Stuff”
Do you remember the famous skit
George Carlin used to do called “Stuff”? Of course one man’s treasure is someone
else’s “Stuff”. You can not get rid of his treasures, but he wants to get rid
of her “Stuff.”
Well, I just spent a weekend
with people who make beautiful craft items out of stuff. Recycled stuff! Lovely handbags, pieces of
art on a post card, beautiful jewelry, all out of stuff.
I came home and loved my “stuff”
even more than before. They are my “some-day-when-I-have-the-time-I-will-create-a-thing-of-beauty
stuff.”
With the economy the way it is
now a days, more people are turning their hobbies into everyday work. Anything to make some money “stuff.”
Meeting all these crafters this
weekend you wouldn’t believe many of them are really hurting financially. But
now they have the time to play with the things they really like doing.
Creativity lifts the spirit!
They get to create a thing of
beauty. It’s all their own. No two
pieces exactly alike. One of a kind originals. Produced
right here, right now, in front of everyone.
The joy of creativity! Do we
share that joy? Or, do we hide it? Do we appreciate the creator? Do we appreciate God as our Creator?
Imagine each one of us. . .A God created, one of a kind original.
No one else exactly like you.
Yet, each one of us filled with lots of good “stuff.”
