Culinary Tips From Chef Raven

Here's a fantastic recipe for this time of the year. And SO easy!

Oil & Vinegar Cole Slaw

Serving Size : 10

1/2 Cup salad oil
1 Tablespoon salt
3/4 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup white vinegar
1 scant teaspoon celery seeds

6 Cups cabbage -- grated
1 Small onion -- finely chopped
1/2 green pepper -- finely chopped
1 carrot -- shredded

Combine first 5 ingredients in a heavy saucepan, cook to a rolling boil.
Pour over remaining ingredients in a non-reactive bowl such as corning ware or glass.
Mix well.
Let marinate overnight. Serve cold or at room-temp.
