Culinary Tips From Chef Raven
Ice
Clay, Samantha and I are on vacation in San Diego this week. We're busy, busy, busy but I wanted to get you a quick tip.
With all of the graduation, Father's Day and just general summer parties, it's nice to keep a few things in mind for beverages.
If you have everything already cold and just need ice to put into drinks, buy 1 lb per person. If you will also be icing down bottles of wine, cans of beer soda, juice, etc, buy 10 lbs per person.
If you will be making ice at home rather than buying it at the store, keep it in a paper grocery bag in the freezer. This will keep it separate.
The quickest way to chill down drinks is to submerge the bottles or cans in ice water. This will have them icy cold within 15 minutes. Much quicker than in ice alone.
