My Song — by Lisa Vaden
To Change what
is Out There, You Must First Change what is In Here
It can be very hard to understand the only way to change what is out there -- events, circumstances and relationships with others -- is to first change what is in here… wishes, fears, internal dialogues and relationship with oneself.
The reason this is difficult is because we have
been conditioned to look without to validate within. But haven’t you noticed that this does not
work? If so, that means there has got to
be another way. There is always another
way.
Let’s take money for instance. I bet 90% of people would say, “If I had more
money then I would be happy.” My friend,
it is not money that will make you happy.
You are looking for security. You
are looking for freedom. You are looking
for a way which to feel abundant, both in yourself and in your
surroundings. You are looking for
confidence to follow your heart’s desire.
You are looking for fulfillment.
You are looking for love and support.
Cold hard cash is not going to give this to you.
Have you ever wondered why, if God is so great,
that He just doesn’t bestow a million dollars on each of us? God is greater than great; He’s one smart
cookie. He knows very well that your
soul’s desire is to develop within all of the characteristics (and more) that
we spoke about above. Then when the
outer world catches up with our inner world, the success is much more
appreciated and accepted as an enhancement to what we already have. You want a compliment to your life, not an
instead of.
You need to go within and find out what it is you
truly want and why. Trace the whys until
you get to the root of what you want. Search
within until you find out what is holding you back. Find ways in which to give yourself the
security, freedom, abundance, confidence, fulfillment, love and support you are
seeking. Connect with the highest power
and learn how to work with Him.
If I have left you with a feeling of “HOW, HOW,
HOW?!!!!” that is a great sign. You just
keep asking yourself and God “HOW, HOW, HOW!!!!” and your answers will
come. Usually it comes right after you
have finally gotten to the point of frustration and said “Forget it, I give
up!” Truly letting go is necessary. It gets you out of the way, and opens the
door for God to come in.
