REFLECTIONS OF A ZEN MASTER

NO MOMENT IS EVER WASTED
Misty had a way of making the most of any moment. It didn't matter if she was sleeping, eating, playing, basking in the sun, staring down the birds or trying to distract me from my work long enough so that I'd pet her. At first I'd feel a little flustered at the distraction part, but Misty had a peace and love that just emanated from her. I soon learned to not only appreciate but joyfully welcome Misty's distractions and the state of Zen that accompanied her. I realized that in stillness (and in purring) no moment is ever wasted - for this where insight, clarity, creativity and inspiration are born. After a while, I also learned that no moment in action - be it play, work, communication or petting a kitty goddess - is ever wasted, either, for this where growth occurs. And from my feline Zen Master I realized that we need both moments in stillness and in motion.
Remember: No moment is ever wasted.
