EVERYBODY NEEDS THEIR OWN SPECIAL SPACE
We really hadn't planned on being adopted by a cat, and certainly did not have a budget that would buy all the fancy cat toys and furniture many pampered feline goddesses are accustomed to. But that didn't bother Misty or stop her from loving us wholeheartedly. Shoe strings and crunchy paper balls made satisfactory toys for her and she was quite content to take over two-thirds of my one-half of the twin day bed Mark and I shared. (I still don't know how her little 7lb body could require more space than my 92 1/2 pounds!) Still, we wanted Misty to feel like she belonged in our home and wondered what we could give her to create her own special space. Misty answered the question for us, claiming a favorite throw blanket, the space under the bed, empty baskets, and any box left on the floor for more than thirty seconds.
Everybody needs their own special space… Some place to relax, day dream, get inspired, think, plan, contemplate, read, pray, meditate, or just be. It doesn't have to be a big space - a room, a corner, a chair, a window sill, a spot in the grass or whatever you feel connected to will suffice. Not only will it suffice, but it will nurture you and give you a sense of security. Where's your special space? If you don't have one, start creating it today. As Misty would tell you, just about any place has potential!
Remember: Everyone needs their own special space.
