BE YOUR OWN HERO
Misty was a hero in many ways. Faster than a speeding bug, she could leap onto tall furniture in a single bound. Despite a small murmur, her heart was stronger than steel - and kryptonite didn't stand a chance of holding her back when it came to catching Fishies. She was loving, courageous and kind. She was there when you needed her and asked little in return. She even flew in her dreams… she'd lay stretched out on the floor with arms reaching out in front of her and back paws tucked away as her body would maneuver in her sleep. This is how she became known as "Super Cat" in our home.
Misty's unconditional love truly did make her a hero in our hearts. It also reminded us that we all need to be our own hero. So often we look outside of ourselves for the qualities we long to possess. We look to others to give us what we need. But one of the secrets to happiness comes from giving ourselves what we wish others could give us and adopting the qualities that we look for in our heroes. Think of the people (or even animals) you look up to. What is it you admire about them? Do you possess these same traits? If not, work on building them up within yourself so that when it comes time to pick your favorite heroes, you can include yourself on the list.
Remember: Be your own hero.
