A-Muse-Ing Inspirations:  — by Jeanette M. Pintar

Lesson 17

What task did you do from you Master Plan this past week?  Did you schedule at least one thing per week from your Master Plan into you Day Planner for the next year?  If not, do so now.

Have you successfully formed some kind of support group?  If you’re nervous about leading it, don’t think of it as leading.  Think of it as getting together with a bunch of folks who want to enjoy life together and see one another happy in the successful fulfillment of their dreams as well as yours.

This marks the last week of you’re A-Muse-Ing Inspirations Do-It-Yourself Lesson Plan.  I’d like to leave you with a few rules of the road I’ve found helpful in the pursuit of your dreams.  They’re not new, but they are important to remember and incorporate into your life.

10 Rules in The Fulfillment of Your Dreams

# 1. NEVER let your dreams rely on somebody else! It’s up to YOU!   Not a lover, a partner, an advisor, a teacher, or even a government agency.  These are YOUR DREAMS, given to you from God Himself.  They are for YOU to live!  You can get help in making them happen, but they are your responsibility.  It’s up to you to turn them into reality, even when others say you cannot.

# 2. Obstacles, challenges and fears are all God's way of helping you see how badly you want to experience your dreams.  The obstacles are not there because you're not good enough to live your dream, they're there to help you realize how much you want to live your dream.  If you're not willing to work for it, you probably don't want it that much.

# 3. Don't quit just because things didn't go as planned.  They never do.  Just adjust.  Find another way to make it happen, to live your passion, to fulfill the dream, even that means changing some of the details or the order you're going to do it in.

# 4. Live the Dream, not the fight!   When things come up that block you from your dreams, let go of struggling against them.  Do what you can to work through them and find a solution.  But then let go.  Let go of the fight and don't let it block the passion.  Live your dream to the fullest!   Enjoy every second that you're doing it, thinking it, planning it, learning it, talking about it, preparing for it, and living it!   Focus on your dream!

# 5.  If you don't know how to do it already, learn it!  Never back away from your dream because you don't know something about it — including how to do it or how to make it work.  There are books, magazines, the internet and people from every walk of life.  Somebody, somewhere, knows something and you can learn from their knowledge!   It's never been easier.   As Brian Tracy says, "You can learn anything you need to learn to become anything you want to be."

# 6.  God knows the details even when we don't.  Trust him.

# 7.  Have faith in people but don't trust everyone.   This one is especially hard to swallow because human beings are designed to trust one another.  However, not everyone is trust-worthy.  Do a little research first.  Just because someone else had a good experience with  a particular person, place or thing doesn't mean you will.  Take time to ask questions and see how attentive they are to you and what your gut feeling says.  Figure out what will work for you.

# 8. Surround yourself with others who will support you in making your dream come true and who believe you can do it.  Find people who will push you when you need to be pushed and give you space when you need some time alone.  A good support system can make all the difference.

# 9.  It's going to be difficult.   Accept the challenge and know you can do it.  Let your passion fuel you through the most challenging of moments.  Ask for help when you need it. Realize that difficulties in pursuing our dreams are like wind to flying... In an ideal world, we spread our wings and go where we want to go when we want to go without unseen external forces getting in the way.  But this is the real world and in the real world, there's always a wind beneath our wings, an unseen external force pushing up and down or from side to side.  This is how it works!  It's part of the dream and part of the passion.  When we learn that it's part of the package, we no longer fear or yearn to conquer it.  We simply learn how to ride it out as part of where we're going.

# 10.  It doesn't matter how long it takes, how old or young you are, how much it costs, or what it will take for you to get there.  This is YOUR DREAM, YOUR LIFE, and YOU ARE MEANT TO LIVE IT!   The pursuit of the dream IS its fulfillment.  It may take an hour, a year, a decade, a lifetime or anything in between.  That's not important.  What's important is that you walk in it and live it.  When you commit yourself to your dream, God will commit your dream to coming true.  It might not be exactly the way you imagined but keep at it.  Your money, your age, how long, etc., will all work out.  As they said in Shakespeare in Love, "I don't know how, it just somehow always does."

And on that thought, I leave you with your final assignment from me and the beginning of your assignments to and from Your Self and your Higher Power.  You are being lead on this journey.  Keep moving forward.  Don’t back down.  Take the ball and run with it.  You’re already well on your way.

Week 17 Assignment

Use your day planner!   Begin by scheduling the following:

Look through your Master Plan.  Is there anything time-sensitive in it?  (For example, an application or financial aid forms for school, deadlines for a contest, etc.)   Schedule anything time sensitive from your Master Plan in your Day Planner, allowing enough time to do that task and to allow for errors.

After scheduling Time Sensitive tasks from your Master Plan, schedule supporting tasks around them.

Form a Support or Positive Get-Together Group (if you haven’t already.)  Decide what your objective will be and write down some guidelines for what you want to accomplish and what’s expected of each member, as well as how often you’d like to meet. (I suggest at least once a week to maintain the progress you’ve been making.)

Schedule in your Group’s first meeting in Pen.  Pencil in subsequent meetings for the next month.  (Use pencil until you’re sure on a set date.  People often change schedules at the beginning of these things.)

Look through your Master Plan again.  Write down everything you need to learn to make your dreams come true.

Based on what you need to learn, make a list of books, classes, and resources that can give you the information needed.  Add to your learning materials a list of books, etc., that will motivate you and keep you inspired.

Order your learning materials in the most proficient way for you to learn them and apply them toward your dreams.

Obtain at least the first book from your list and begin reading.  Schedule at least one chapter per week in your Day Planner. When finished with the first book, continue to schedule in subsequent learning materials.

Update your Master Plan as needed.

Schedule, plan and take a date with yourself every week for the rest of the year! You don’t have to know what your date will be yet, but schedule it in if you haven’t already.  Hold your dates with yourself as sacred.  This is important for your well-being and the well-being of your dreams.  Besides you deserve some down time to enjoy life and have fun!

Write 3 pages of long-hand in your journal daily.  Keep writing!  Some people think it’s only important to write when you’re stressed of have some challenge to work through.  Others think it’s only necessary to write when you want insight.  The truth is it’s important to journal every day of your life to stay connected to your Self and to Spirit.  Keep writing!  Adjust if you need to, adding affirmations, goals, etc.  Make journaling work for you.

Pick a task from your Master Plan and do it!   Just one little thing will take you that much closer to your dreams. (And yes, it’s OK if you decide to do more than one task per week!)  Make this part of your weekly routine.

If you haven’t already, right now, this very moment, place a note in your day-planner for each week of the remaining year to pick a task from your Master Plan and do it.  That will help keep you on track and remind yourself that following your dreams is part of your duty to yourself… and your Higher Power.

Re-commit yourself to your Dreams.  You have become your own leader, your own professional Muse, your own motivational coach.  It’s up to you from here on out to make your dreams come true.  YOU CAN DO IT!    You’ve got what it takes, and what you don’t have, you’re learning.  Anything is possible… including your dreams.  It’s time to transform your dreams into reality and it’s up to you to do it!

Congratulations, good luck and God bless you on this journey…
