Howdy Folks and Good Day!

I’m not much into the kind of self-help that says you have to be a multi-millionaire to be somebody special.  I believe each of us has incredible value in who we are just because we were born.  But if someone tells me an honest and truthful method of how I can create financial abundance, I don’t mind passing it along!

On that note, I’ve been reading a great book called “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Ecker.   What impressed me is that it’s the first book my Mom has ever recommended to me and she’s truly changing her life as a result of it.  I know I’ve tried to share many of the same concepts with her before but I wasn’t able to communicate them the way T. Harv does… simple, uncomplicated, truthful, effective, and fairly humorous!  Not only that, but I’m learning lots of new concepts from it, too!

One of the things T. Harv discusses is how we all have a “money blueprint” that shapes how we deal with our finances.  This blueprint consists of the things we saw, heard, and experienced as children and affects us in our adult lives.  He also points out that we have these same kind of “blueprints” for everything in our lives. For the record, I agree.  At least I do now…

You see, Mark and I went to visit our families over the holidays.   We were able to spend a long weekend with my sisters and their spouses, my mom and dad, and my nieces and nephews.  We decided our Christmas present to the children would be to give them $25 they could spend any way, any where they’d like, and we would take them to do it!  (Except for Chuckie Cheese – that was not an option! J )

Our first stop was the bookstore.  Rebecca was delighted to find a quill pen and ink set much like those used in the Harry Potter movies.  Ashley picked out a book but then convinced Rebecca to go in half and half with her and they’d share the book.  Amy couldn’t find anything of interest.

Next stop:  Wal-Mart!   Ashley discovered a sale for JUMBO SIZED Hershey Chocolate bars in all varieties, 4 for $5.00.   She was thrilled and tried to convince her sisters to invest all their money together to bring home 4 chocolate bars instead of one.  Amy and Rebecca weren’t interested.  We told Ashley she had plenty of money left over if she wanted all 4 bars but she didn’t want to spend HER money on that much chocolate.  She opted for one jumbo Hershey bar and was content.

Amy went on a clothes finding mission.  She tried on at least 10 outfits, and thanks to a nice sale, she could have bought at least 7 of them which she really liked.  But she chose a skirt / leggings combo and put the rest back, even though we offered to get her all 7 outfits.  We then returned home.

I was curious about the girls’ selections and reluctance to spend their money.  So we started a conversation.   Rebecca, age 15, was actually saving the rest of her money to purchase a new video game she really wanted that costs around $45.00.   Ashley, age 12, said she’d just rather save her money because she liked having money in her bank and wallet, it made her feel good.  When we asked Amy, age 9, she wasn’t sure why she didn’t take the rest of the clothes she picked out or why she didn’t really care about the rest of her money.

So we talked a little more and asked the girls if they knew what stereotypes were, they did.  Then we asked if they had any about money.  They didn’t think so.  So we asked, “Are rich people mean or nice?”  All three said, “MEAN!”  Of course, they’ve seen all the movies and TV shows that portray this stereotype.  We asked, “If you are a good person, do you have a lot of money, or a little money?”  Again, all three answered, “A little money.”

We took it further and asked, “If you were given several million dollars, what would you do with it?  Rebecca wanted to go to college, buy a house and a car.  Ashley seconded the schooling but wanted to invest her money in the stock market.  Amy said she didn’t want the money, she just wanted to help people!  She figured if you had a lot of money, you wouldn’t want to help others who didn’t.

WOW!  That was really an eye-opener.  We made a game of it and decided to come up with as many ways possible you could use money to help people… Scholarships, feeding the hungry, helping the poor, charities, giving school supplies and clothing, and on and on.  We probably spent twenty minutes having the girls come up with ways to use money to really help people.  It was fun for all of us, and hopefully it helped shift their perspective of money to something more positive.

The good news is that when we become aware of our blueprints we can change the things that aren’t working and do more of the things that are!  That’s why we spent time with Rebecca, Ashley and Amy, trying to give them some additional positive new perspectives.  It really floored us that they already such strong concepts of money at such young ages!   (For the record, I’m betting my money on Ashley becoming a millionaire investment mogul!  LOL!)

This experience really made both Mark and I look at how we view money and where our concepts come from.  When we talk to other folks about what it was like growing up for them and what they were taught about money, it’s amazing how much we have all learned to sabotage ourselves financially.  T. Harv Ecker’s book is really good at pointing these things out and helping us reprogram ourselves to thoughts (and choices) of prosperity and abundance.

And for the record, I don’t get anything from T. Harv Ecker for the sale of his book… except maybe a penny or two if you click the book link to buy it from Amazon. So here’s the link!  Hurry.  This offer won’t last long!  Secrets of the Millionaire Mind”.

Ha, ha, ha!  Sorry folks, I just couldn’t resist.  You know I’m not in the business of advertising in SFPNN, but I really have been impressed with the information I’ve learned here and the principles being taught.  I’ve seen the changes in my parents, and I’m beginning to make many of the changes myself.  This is a great tool for anyone who wants to learn how to increase their financial abundance in life.

As business guru and motivational speaker Brian Tracy has said, “We can learn anything we need to learn to become anyone [or anything] we want to be.”

Here’s to not only discovering our blueprints, but becoming the architects of our new financially abundant lives!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

MOVING IN 2007 – From Nicole of Encino, CA

Hello!!

My husband and I are moving to Portland, Oregon, hopefully by April, but we don't really know when yet.  It is dependant upon selling our condo and him getting a job.

I'd like to share my Craigslist ad with you all in case you or someone you know is looking for a place to buy. Some of you may have been here before anyway so you know how beautiful and peaceful it is. (Especially when I play my crystal bowls, huh?;)

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/rfs/260029379.html

We’re also posting it on the MLS for greater exposure.

Until we actually move, I'd like to offer a hypnotherapy special!

Many people focus on the thought of "how much money do I have to spend to resolve my issue" rather than "even if I spent (x-amount of dollars) to rid myself of this issue, that is a great deal".  Just like going to the gym, you often need several sessions before the desired results are seen.  But of course, like going to the gym, depending on your desired outcome, results may be seen sooner or could take longer.

Usually with hypnosis, some results are seen within 3 sessions, but the actual desired outcome may take once a week sessions for a couple months.  It does take commitment and some time to rewrite your subconscious mind and brain.

I understand that by paying session by session it can get costly.  But not any more!

I will take out the guess work out and offer a flat rate.  Start your New Year with the commitment to resolve an "issue"!

Pay only $300 for having guaranteed 8 sessions (even if it ends up having to be 2x/week to get the 8 sessions in) but up to 12 sessions, once a week!!!

That equals out to more than half off of the cost of one regular session!!

Just want personal Chakra Clearings?  There's a special for that too!

Personalized Chakra and Energy Clearings only $150 for 6 sessions!

TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL  From Jeanette

I just completed my Level 2 Reiki training!  Hooray!

This means I’m legal to practice Reiki professionally on both animals and people.  J

For those of you unfamiliar with Reiki, it’s a form of healing in which you allow energy to flow through you and into someone else.  (Or even to yourself.)  Many ministers who do “hands on” healing are actually doing Reiki – even if they don’t call it that.  J

You may recall the “I Send You Love” meditation I shared with you last year.  This could also be considered a form of Reiki. (I just didn’t know it at the time!)

I’m really excited about my Reiki Level 2 certification because I know it’s also going to help folks who utilize my Angel Therapy Practitioner services and I’ve already experienced some truly amazing things with it!

I intend to work my way up to “Reiki Master” but in the meantime, I’m so grateful for what I’ve learned now – and to those who’ve made it possible.

Healing on any level is something to celebrate!  J

6.      Wednesday WORD      — by Diane, The California Dreamer

A YEAR OF AWAKENING

"The significant business of your life is alive and well,
awaiting discovery, within your very soul.
You
and I were born to come into ourselves as complete and distinctive persons.
Accepting this, we build a valuable
life."

— Marsha Sinetar

Happy New Year!!

Every year I try to choose a new theme for my articles. In 2005, it was ingredients for a "Life Well Lived." In 2006 we had "A Year of Discovery."  Now, 2007 is going to be “A Year of Awakening."

I chose this theme because of all I am discovering about myself, I am awakening to all that is within me and around me.

Do you consider yourself Awake? Are you aware of all that you already are and all that you can become?

Many of us might say "of course I am awake I am reading this aren't I?"

Being awake isn't just about having your eyes open, it is about living each and everyday to the fullest, noticing all that is around us and being in gratitude for all that we have.

It is about finding out who you really are, finding that 'self' that you may have lost so very long ago…  Awakening the talent you might have let slip away because you were busy raising your family or building a career.  Or that you just let life get in the way.  You might also have allowed yourself to get into a rut.

Being awake is all about raising our level of consciousness.  I will warn you, once your conscience is raised, you won't be able to go back to being asleep and unaware.

This year we will look at all the ways we can become awake in our thoughts, intentions and actions as well as how all these directly effect the quality of life we have, the way that we live our life, and the way that our lives effect others.

 Here's to a great 2007!
