Howdy Folks and Good Day!

No matter who we are, or where we come from, or even where we’re going, all of us want to feel good inside.   We want to feel loved, special, worthy.  We want to know we make a positive difference and that we’re capable of doing good things.  We want to know we’re smart, and well-liked and respected.

Now here’s the tricky part… In order to experience those things we have to be willing to GIVE OURSELVES what we want and what we’re looking for!

Let me explain a little…  Let’s start with Love.

Everyone wants to be loved.  Everyone wants to feel loveable.  Everyone wants to know unconditional love.  But how many of us are willing love ourselves or even send love to ourselves?

This alone can be one of the greatest steps we take toward living a happy and fulfilling life.   Saying, “I love you” to others may come easy to us, but what about saying, “I love you” to ourselves?

God ahead and try it.  Wrap your arms around yourself, giving yourself a good hug, say your name, and say, “I love you…”

What does it feel like?  Normal?  Natural?  Happy?   Energizing?   Or does it feel foreign?  Strange?   Weird?   Wrong?  Or even blasphemous?

If it’s anything less than positive, it’s time to make some changes and reprogram yourself.

One of my favorite meditations is as simple as placing your hands on your heart, addressing yourself by name, and saying, “I send you love…”  As you say it repeatedly, you’ll begin to feel your hands and heart heat up.  This is literally Divine Love flowing through you!

If you feel at all uncomfortable saying, “I love you” to yourself, I highly recommend practicing “I send you love.”   It’s a great way to get around your ego or inner critic while allowing yourself to give yourself love, and actually “loving yourself” in the process!

We can use this meditation for any number of qualities such as respect, worthiness, and intelligence.  If we can think it, we can give it to ourselves.  And as we give ourselves these qualities, we’ll begin to express them in our lives and draw more of them to ourselves.  (We give ourselves what we think about anyway… why not consciously choose to give ourselves something positive through our thoughts?!)

As they say, “we teach others how to treat us.”  Sometimes, we also have to teach our Self  how to treat us.

Today, I challenge every person who reads this to practice sending yourself love, every day, for one to two weeks… even if it’s only for two – five minutes at a time.   Notice what happens.  What does it feel like?  Can you sense a shift in your energy, thoughts, and attitude?  Are you more positive?  Do you feel better about yourself?

Take care of YOU.  And know that YOU ARE LOVED.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

2.      Humor:  Thanks to Robin P.

HIS WIFE’S CAT

A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park.

As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.

The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home.

Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!

He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.

Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?"

"Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?"

Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that son of a ***** on the phone, I'm lost and need directions!"

A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:   Although I found the above quite humorous, please, please, please do not abandon your pets (or anyone else’s)!  If you really do not get along with them, adopt them out, give them to family or friends, or if absolutely necessary, take them to a no-kill shelter.

And for the record, if you come into a relationship with someone who has a beloved pet, and think you’re going to make them choose between you or their life-long companion who has loved them unconditionally, been there for all the ups and downs, forgives honestly and earnestly, makes them feel special just by looking at them, brings love, joy and laughter to their day, always worships them, takes away their stress and is an angel in disguise, well, hopefully you get the picture!   J

4.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

5.      Kindness Suggestion

PRAY FOR PEACE EACH EVENING

Thanks to Rev. Laura

In WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate: Each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00pm Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens, and for a Godly nation.

And more globally, we can add our prayers for peace for ALL people and nations to this powerful group.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.

Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

— Thanks to Rev. Laura

6.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

7.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

After being very sick over the holidays, I have emerged feeling highly energized and songs are pouring through.

each holy instant

Each Holy Instant is an opportunity
To let something new be born.
Something that has never been before
This very moment right now.
This possibility lives in each moment
That we are alive,
But it’s easy to get stuck in a rut
And feel like you can’t move on.
I’m here to tell you it’s never too late
To be who you came here to be.
Let yourself go, get into the flow,
You’ll be amazed at what shows up
When you’re open to
What wants to be
By  means of me and you.

You Can Be Healed

You can be healed in any moment
You allow yourself to be.
What goes on out here
Is not as important
As what goes on in here.
Getting sick sometimes happens
To provide us an opportunity
To narrow our focus
And tune out the world
And simply just be
This particular being
In this Monopoly piece,
Coping with life on earth.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

Why am I here?     Why are you here?

I hope today’s Divine Conversation will help both of us think about and answer that question for ourselves. I also hope it inspires all of us to work towards that individual purpose that we accepted when we came here.
