How open are you to the unexpected?  Can you make the most of any situation and find the blessings in any circumstance?

Having routines in our lives is a good thing.  It can help us focus, stay on track, get our work done and take care of ourselves.  But being rigid in our routines can prevent us from enjoying life’s most simple pleasures… especially when they come unexpectedly.

I had a lot of work to do today but for some reason my cat Tiger really needed some extra love.  I was tempted to say, “Sorry, Buddy, I just don’t have time,” but something purr-suaded me to make time.  I followed Tiger to his “brushing station” and obediently began to stroke his soft orange fur.  As I did he purred and purred and purred.  Then Tiger stretched out and put all four paws up in the air inviting me to brush his belly.  His purrs were so loud by now you could hear them across the room!  Not only were Tiger’s purrs loud, but they were filled with love, joy, and contentedness.

A funny thing happened as I listened to Tiger and continued to brush.  I no longer felt stressed out.  My lethargy turned into positive energy and I felt absolutely refreshed and ready to go.

It would have been very easy to tell Tiger “not now” and have continued with my work.  In fact, I’ve done so more days than I care to admit.  But today, I was open to the unexpected.  And in being open, I received the gift I thought I was giving.

As I went through my day (and evening) many unexpected things continued to happen.  And somehow, even though they were not as I planned, they all became a blessing and a moment to cherish.

Today, open yourself up to the unexpected.  When it happens, allow yourself to enjoy the moment and experience the gift it has to offer.

Have a GREAT day and a wonderful weekend.  (And don’t forget to wear green!  You never know what unexpected things can come at you on St. Patrick’s Day!)

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

3.      Humor:  Thank to Aunt Bette

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was great.

4.      “Laughter really IS the best medicine.”

— © The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

NOTE:  We’ve all heard the above a million times before.  Here’s a bit of the story which was the premise for the quote…

Norman had been diagnosed with an “incurable” disease.  The doctors told him he had just a few months to live.  Norman decided to heal himself.  For three months all he did was watch funny movies, and laugh, laugh, laugh.  The disease left his body in those three months and the doctors proclaimed his recovery a miracle.

5.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

If you're looking for something really different, visit Tom's webpage at: http://www.sfpnn.com/tom_r__oh!.htm

6.      “If you really want to help that person, change the conversation to good things, if you can, or be on your way.  As you walk away, give your powerful thoughts and feelings to seeing that person well.”

7.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

E-mail: “KINDNESS

8.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

As I was sitting on the banks of the Ohio River feeling very blessed, this song came to me.

you can be blessed

You can be blessed by anything
If you allow yourself to be.
Whatever happens, look for the gift.
You’ll find what you’re looking for.
And the only thing to do
Is to say, “Thank you,”
To the you you know yourself to be,
The one who’s the cause of it all--
The isness that we call God.

9.      The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

Sir Froggie's Positive News Network is proud to present
The SFPNN Positivity Link Award to:

eCHALK:OPTICAL ILLUSIONS

http://www.echalk.co.uk/amusements/OpticalIllusions/illusions.htm

"Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live."

— Mark Twain

“The power of imagination created the illusion that my vision went much farther than the naked eye could actually see.” — Nelson Mandela

I know we have all heard the expression “What you see, is what you get.”  Well that is definitely not true of today’s web site and it’s fun to see how our eyes and mind can be fooled.

The Motion Induced Blindness demonstrates how, under certain conditions, we can be blind to real objects.   In the next illusion I’m looking at two different pictures that are different colors, but blue and yellow are really both the same color?!

Both Mona Lisa’s look the same but when you turn them over, one is really ugly [hard to believe] till you see her.

I was really surprised to see that I could read the Jumbled Words. I used to try the “Jumble” puzzle that’s in the newspaper and I have to admit I could hardly ever figure out what the words were. Here I could read the whole thing.  I hope you have fun with these and enjoy the rest of the illusions on this web page.

Let There Be Peace On Earth and Let It Begin With Me...
