Howdy Folks and Good Day!

I hope everyone had a beautiful holiday weekend!

Just a real quick note before today’s official greeting… Several folks have asked if there was any way I could share what the mandala I was creating looked like when it was finished. Here’s a link to the original line drawing, and one for the finished project. If you like the design, I encourage you to print out the blank line drawing and color it in for yourself any way you’d like!

FYI, Every mandala is different and serves a different function. This mandala was created with the intention to balance one’s chakras, fill your heart with joy, open intuition and help your spirit soar! Have fun!

The word “integrity” has been on my mind a lot lately as I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet individuals who not only possess integrity but exude it.

The Oxford Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus defines integrity as, “1. moral uprightness; honesty. 2. wholeness; soundness.”

Usually when we think of people with integrity we think of how they interact with others. Are they honest? Do they keep their word? Do they fulfill their promises? Do they choose to do the right thing?

We tend to associate our own integrity based on how we treat OTHER people. But what about how we treat OUR SELF?

Are we honest with ourselves? Do we keep our word and the promises we make to our Self? Do we choose to do the right thing for us? Do we treat ourselves as well as we treat other people?

Most of us have been brought up to put others first… And service is a very good thing. But we must have integrity within our own being if we are truly to be of service to others.

Internal integrity is every bit as important—if not more so—than external integrity. If we are not honest with ourselves, we lose the trust and faith of the most important person in our life…Our Self. If we are not in alignment within, how can we be in alignment on the outside?

For instance, if we want to be a loving person to others, are we loving toward ourselves or do we criticize and judge our Self? If we want to be someone of honor on the outside, do we honor ourselves on the inside? If we want to be known as someone others can count on, can we count on ourselves to provide what we need?

Integrity is like an alignment which merges body, mind and soul.

For example, when we care about our health, we take care of our body through things like healthy eating habits, getting enough sleep, and exercising in a way which compliments our body type. These positive acts create a strong positive energetic frequency which then helps us think thoughts to maintain these healthy activities. Because we are aligning body, mind, and soul, we are creating integrity within ourselves and this helps us increase or improve our health. If we don’t eat right, or give ourselves enough sleep, or exercise, we get out of alignment. Our bodies will hurt, our “vibes” or energy will be off and our thoughts will be negative or unfocused. We lose our internal integrity because we’re not doing what we need in order to care for our Self. Our desires and actions don’t match and call us to change what we’re doing.

Internal integrity is important. It’s a always a good idea to check in with ourselves to see if our actions, words, thoughts and choices are in alignment with our soul’s desire and in our best interest. In other words to see if we have integrity with ourselves.

It always starts within.

ALWAYS GROW TOWARD THE LIGHT.
IT’S ONLY NATURAL.

In this great journey we call Life what direction are you headed in? Do you feel good about who you are and your life’s path? Do you know for certain you’ll make it out of dark and troubled times?

Always grow toward the Light. It’s only natural.

When we pay attention to nature, or even any house plant, we’ll make a simple yet amazing discovery. Plants always grow toward the light! From the time they are seeds, they search to break through the dark soil and reach up out of the Earth into the Light. This light continues to pull them upward and help them grow. Even if the light moves, the plant will follow it to get the nourishment it needs. People are much the same.

There’s always a part of us which wants to break through the darkness to reach the Light. We yearn to connect and bring the Light within us to experience Its warmth, physical and spiritual nourishment, and unconditional love. It is when we are reaching toward the Light we grow the most.

Sometimes we are overcome with darkness. We get bogged down in fear, confusion, and ego thinking, feeling left out in the cold. We forget there is always Light available to us if we will just absorb it through our heart and soul. Alas, darkness enters first through the mind and tries to convince the heart it’s no use.

Yet there is always hope!

Even plants potted in the darkest corners somehow manage to realize there IS Light available somewhere and instinctually grow toward It. No matter what, we must always remember there IS Light available to us. We may have to stretch to reach it. We may have to wait a while to really see it and feel it full force. But just like the sun rises every day, so too will our own personal Light if we remember it is there and call it forth.

What is this Light? We could easily call it God. Some call it Unconditional Love. More than a few folks call it the Presence, Life Force or Divine Matrix. Others think of it as the Higher Self, Universal Flow or simply Energy. No matter what you call it, this Light exists. It exists in us, through us, and all around us. It raises us up, gives us energy, inspires, encourages, and comforts us as needed. It shines the Truth on every situation, point us in the right direction, helps us recognize what we need, and guides every step of the way.

This Light is at the core of every living being so while we are reaching toward it as we raise ourselves up, we must also reach within. As we grow toward this Light, we become stronger in body, mind, spirit and faith. We learn to trust. We learn to leap. We learn to adhere to Its guidance. We become better people and keep discovering divinity both in the world around us and within our own Self.

Growth is an innate part of life; human beings are no exception. And like all other species, we do our best when we are growing toward the Light instead of fighting to turn away from it.

Always grow toward the Light. It’s only natural.
