Howdy Folks and Good Day!
Have you ever noticed people who are happy generally tend to have a lot of
faith? And those who are angry, bitter
or carry a sense of doom do not?
I’ve met plenty of really positive people who weren’t afraid to share their faith. I’ve also met those who wanted to believe even though they weren’t 100% convinced yet but were willing to look. And I’ve met folks who believed in a Force of Nature but were afraid to call it God because of their upbringing. Still they all believed in SOMETHING unseen at work in the world. And as a result, they were pretty happy people.
Personally, I’ve never met a genuinely happy atheist! (Legal Disclaimer: I’m not saying it is impossible to be happy while being an atheist, I’ve just never met one who is!) Usually it’s those people who are miserable, those who don’t believe, who are more than eager to tell those of us living positive faith-filled lives how foolish we are! All I can think is “If they only knew how much better it could get!”
Some of the questions which often come up from people who don’t believe – and from those who do – are: How do we KNOW? Where’s the proof? Why SHOULD we believe?
For me, the WHY comes first and IS the proof in itself.
The reason to believe is because it works!
If faith didn’t work, there would be no reason to have it, use it, live it or believe in it. But it DOES work and that’s why so many believe!
Perhaps faith works because of the Law of Attraction; what you send out comes back in increased measure; seek and ye shall find; your outside world mirrors your inside world; we create our experiences with our thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions… Slightly different in wording, they all express the same basic principle.
When we have faith, what we believe in comes true because we believe it will come true. If we don’t believe, if we don’t have faith, we’ll create experiences which make our doubts and fears come true instead. Even when we are fearful, we are putting our faith to work… we’re just putting it into fear instead of a positive expectation.
If I’m going to create something in my life out of my belief system, I’d much rather create something positive than my worst fears! So I put my faith in God, in something or someone higher and more powerful than my self who’s on my side, loves me, and wants to help me. After all, I create my experiences through the thoughts I choose.
Why on earth WOULDN’T I believe in a positive God force when I co-create my life through whatever I put my thoughts, energy, emotions and faith into? Why would I want to create anything less than inspiring holy, sacred, experiences?
The proof is in the results of our lives! It’s in how we feel! It’s in our perception of ourselves and the world around us!
I certainly can’t pretend to know everything about God. Nobody does, especially if you believe God is omnipresent, in everyone and everything. How can any one person possibly know all there is to know about every thing and being in our universe? What I do know is having faith in God works in very positive ways and can literally work miracles in our lives and the lives of others.
If nothing else, faith is worthwhile for the sheer possibility of a miracle happening which renders every one of our hopes and dreams at least possible if not more probable!
Why believe? Because it works!
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Thoughts
from a Canadian Resident in Santa
By Ellie Braun-Haley
As we sit at the park centre in the city, we can see vendors
selling their goods just as they did two hundred years ago. We can enjoy a bowl
of freshly cut fruit, knowing it was likely on the vine or tree yesterday or as
early as this morning. We are entertained at almost every visit to the city by
a parade, or walking minstrels, or a concert, or a special play, enacted on the
streets. Should we care to take a cab, we can be up at
We have eaten at a Chinese restaurant and a lovely formal Italian restaurant. We’ve been treated to most outstandingly tasteful seafood dishes at a garden restaurant where the food and ambiance are so magnificent, it would be easy to spend four hours there. We have taken the steps to the second floor of the crepe restaurant and ordered our favorite fresh strawberries and cream crepes while seated on a balcony overlooking a small park. There we can view the city life below and watch as artists display their latest works.
We can sit on the zocalo (park area or town center) at one of many sidewalk cafés and feel as if time has been pushed back, literally made to slow down as we find ourselves slipping into a pace that is heavenly.
People selling their wares may stop to sell or just to
visit. We may buy today or not. There is no rush. This is old

God Given Daisies — by Carole Devecka
A NOTE From the Editor: Have you ever met someone who’s always there to help others no matter what? They keep going and going and going and seem like they could outrun the Energizer bunny! Carole Devecka is that kind of person. Whenever someone is in need, she’s there to help them and that’s exactly what she’s doing this week.
In lieu of a new article, we’d like to share the story of how Carole’s column came to be called God Given Daisies. It’s just one of many miracles she has experienced in her life. So sit back and enjoy…
God Given Daisies
The
day after I received my special rose, I had to take my mom's car in for
servicing. I drove to the dealer and asked how long it would be. They said
about four hours.
Well
I could sit and read all the magazines or I heard a little voice say, "YOU
COULD
Well
GOD if this is you, I surely can walk home praising
you all the way… because now I CAN
The
walk home was approximately 12 miles. It was raining, and I had on a very thin
nylon nurse's uniform with white sandals. I approached a bad neighborhood and
started to walk the long way around the lake. I heard this voice telling me
"Walk it the way you drove it."
OK
God, if you are sending me, you'll take care of me, and if anything happens to
me, I'll be seeing you soon!
People
must have thought I was crazy walking through this area at
"God,
why do you allow this? Why don't you help them?"
That
voice began again… "THESE
“OK,
OK, How do I do that?”
The
next five miles weren't so eventful except that I did meet someone I knew who
offered to drive me home. I told him this was something I had to do. His answer
was, "Walking 12 miles, in a dress that looks like wet tissue paper...and
NO SHOES?! Are you sure you are all right?!"
I
got home five minutes before my youngest daughter got off the bus from
school... "Mommy, Mommy, come look at the beautiful flowers outside."
"Yes
dear, Mommy has beautiful flowers outside..."
"No,
not these flowers!
These are your favorite, and there are SO MANY!"
"Mommy
just came in the house and I didn't see any BIG flowers in the garden."
"
She
was right! There, between my landscaped bushes and trees were bushels and
bushels of Shasta daisies, taller than she was! And not just plopped there, but
landscaped, and mulched!
The
other kids got home from school running in saying the same thing. "Look at
those beautiful flowers, they're SO BIG!"
My
mother came home and said "I'm so glad you used the money I left you and
bought the flowers you love."
"Mom,
I didn't use your money, and I didn't buy any flowers"
"Well,
where did those huge flowers come from? And where is my car?"
"The
car is in the shop."
"How
did you get home?"
"I
walked!"
"Why?"
"Because
GOD asked me to!
And then he gave me
They
lasted and grew bigger throughout the entire year. They bloomed even in the
snow. Many people came to see my God Given Daisies in the snow. Miraculously,
they stayed beautifully groomed until we moved 15 years later.
