Howdy Folks and Good Day!
With everything that’s been going on in the world, a lot of folks are shaking
their heads, asking “why” and wondering what good could possibly come out of
it.
The “good” that comes out of the bad is this: we come together in a spirit of love, peace, and brotherhood, searching for solutions, holding one another up in God’s love and light.
We ask, “Where is God when this happens? Why doesn’t He stop it?”
God is where He has always been… Everywhere and in
everyone… In the heart and mind of every living being.
He gave us free will and therefore individuals are the ones who must decide to stop it.
The problem is many people don’t listen to their heart. They confuse the voice of ego and fear for their True Self or Divine Guidance. They get stuck in the lower energies of hatred, doubt, anger and resentment and become host for evil thoughts. They do not understand the origin of these thoughts and do not question them because they haven’t learned to distinguish the difference between their Higher True Self, God, and their lower ego self and evil.
God is still here. He still calls out and prompts us to act in Love. And when tragedies happen anywhere and everywhere in the world He speaks to all of us. Those who recognize Him and listen feel the tug at our hearts; we hear the ideas and know we are being called to action.
Sometimes the action is minor… a simple phone call to say, “I love you.” Yet that phone call can be the voice of Love which calls a lost soul back home.
Sometimes the action is grand… a formal commitment to minister, work for a charitable organization, or another movement which will help save lives.
We are
There are so many ways to do this! We can express our love and appreciation to family, friends, coworkers and all those who make a difference in our lives. We can support organizations like World Vision and the Heifer Project dedicated to changing the world one person at a time. We can smile and say hello to everyone we pass today. We can lend an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and open arms to hug. We can pray and send love out to the world on a daily basis. We can click a button to donate food to someone in need.
We all say we want the
world to change but how many of us are willing to BE the change?
I ask this question in all sincerity because I’ve had countless conversations with people who wonder why poverty, hunger, and other conditions exist in the world. They exist because we let them.
An example of this would be our links to The Hunger Site and other organizations in every issue of SFPNN. We have global distribution yet LESS THAN 1% of our readers bother to take the few seconds to click a button which could literally save lives!
It is possible folks are doing this on their own, but I’m guessing no where near the other 99% of our readers are getting involved. Because we only hear the numbers instead of seeing the people, and the numbers seem so distant, we don’t take the time. Yet I am 100% positive those who read SFPNN have big enough hearts and souls they would do whatever they could if they came face to face with the person who receives help from The Hunger Site and others listed.
Clearly, it is our time, our choice to act,
which can make the difference between life or death –
literally with the click of a mouse! As Gandhi so eloquently said, “WE MUST BE THE CHANGE WE WISH TO
Please understand this is NOT to guilt anyone into doing
anything. I don’t believe in guilt,
however I do believe in speaking the truth.
And the truth is each one of us has been called to this
planet to make a difference in our world. It is up to me and you and everyone else
here to live in a way which honors Love, Life, and Peace proactively.
God always calls to us. Unfortunately it’s most often when tragedy strikes that we turn to Him and listen.
I urge each one of us, myself included, to regularly ask “What can I do to bring more Love into the world today? What can I do today to make the world a better place?” There are opportunities galore in a manner each and every one us can afford.
Don’t wait for the tragedies. Take action daily. As a global community we can prevent many tragedies from happening.
Respectfully and with Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

What
is Soul Magic?
Have you experienced coincidences, God incidents, or synchronicity? Or looked at something and were overcome with its beauty or loveliness? Have you ever been awash in gratitude or had one of those “a-ha!” moments?
Then you’ve experienced Soul Magic! Big or small, Soul Magic moments are those moments that touch our soul and feel almost magical.
Sometimes it’s hard to put our finger on what makes them special because it’s more of a feeling than the event itself. That doesn’t make it any less real! We’d like you to join us in paying attention to the Soul Magic and every day miracles in your life. Acknowledge them. Write them down. And then send them in to SFPNN.
As the editor of SFPNN, I would like to personally invite you to share your Soul Magic experiences with us.

I'm a
Polar Bear cub and our numbers are few
like some of our kind, I was raised in a zoo
I have never been in the wild--I doubt I'd survive
I've a much better chance here of staying alive.
In the wild we are dwindling, as our land shrinks
many humans are noticing and starting to think
Our habitat is endangered and our food supply low
when our world melts, where then will we go?
So, though you may not think my life here ideal
how about the threat of extinction that's real?
In captivity we are tended by humans who care
out there, the way it's going--how would we fare?

God Given Daisies — by Carole Devecka
It is difficult for me to actually sit down and write my feelings out on paper, especially as the country mourns the tragedy which occurred this time last week on the campus of Virginia Tech.
As I stated in last week's column "Life seems to get in the way of the best made plans." Every day I start out saying, "Today, I am going to get ahead on my writing" and you guessed it... The day just runs away.
TIME is the hardest thing to recapture! I rarely have time to do the things I want to do because I have a constant list of things I “have to do." (I am sure all of you can relate.) This morning, in the midst of a thousand interruptions, I asked God "What do YOU want me to write about?"
He literally dropped a book in my hand called "A Teachable Faith" written by Jennifer Sands. Jennifer Sands is a pharmacist who lives about five minutes from where I live. We never met before last summer when I went to a book signing at Cross Over Coffeehouse and Christian Bookstore.
Jennifer Sands lost her beloved
husband in the 9/11
Jennifer's first book "A Tempered Faith: Rediscovering Hope in the Ashes of Loss” deals with the depths of horrible tragedy and grief. It is an emotional journey that lays down a path for others who face the unthinkable.
I met Jennifer when her second book "A Teachable Faith" was coming out and that is the message God wants me to pass on.
In her chapter called “Home Ec.” she quotes Eleanor Roosevelt who said: "A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water."
Sometimes we are submerged into scalding water of grief, pain, heartache, disappointment and failure. But we can surface from the depths radically improved if we will simply trust and allow God to bring about His improvements. As a result of our trials, we might even be able to make a small difference in the world around us.
What we are made of can determine what we become when the heat is turned up.
Jennifer suggests that you try to observe these things:
Put a tea bag into a mug full of boiling water.
Put a cup of rice in a pot of boiling water.
Now, put some instant oatmeal into a bowl of boiling water.
All are altered by the surrounding conditions; hard rice becomes softened and edible. The tea changed the water, the oatmeal starts out as dry powder but when it comes in contact with hot water, both are changed.
Even if we can not change our circumstances, we can change the way we respond to them. I want to be like Jennifer and in spite of all trials, even when tested by fire, or boiling water, I want to make a positive difference in the world.
Jennifer now travels the world. Invited by the biggest churches, she tells her story of how in the midst of her worst despair, God comforted her, He transformed her.
Was Jennifer religious? No!
She was however, teachable.
God taught her trust, growth, patience, joy, strength, courage and how to change... He uses her story to touch hearts that are in pain. She lifts them up with her heartfelt compassion and shares the joy instead of sorrow that fills her soul today.
Joy is awaiting each one of us… if we are teachable!
God almighty can transform it all; our heartaches, our minds, our relationships, our spirit, etc. Yes, God can transform it all ... if we let Him!
What is God teaching you?
Did you get the message He wanted me to write about -- A Teachable Faith? We can learn from the Master and wonderful authors like Jennifer Sands who share their hearts from the deepest sorrows to their highest joys.
Let’s pray for each other, and pray that each one of us can learn from God to be a positive influence on a hurting world.
