Howdy Folks and Good Day!
Continuous learning is so important!
Whether we realize it or not, we are feeding ourselves information every
day. This information goes into our subconscious
programming, where it affects our thoughts, beliefs and actions. So the question to ask ourselves is, “What am
I learning today?”
In order to answer that question, we might want to ask ourselves, “What has been my source of information or input today?”
Perhaps what we absorbed came from family members, coworkers, teachers, or people in the store, mall, gas station, coffee shop or post office. Maybe it was the local news, radio station, a magazine, newspaper, or movie. Or perhaps e-mail… Think of all the things which entered your mind today from an outside source. And then… gulp… think of all the things which entered from an INSIDE source – namely your own thoughts.
Oooh. That can get a little scary when we put it all together, huh? Especially if today’s input from both internal and external sources is actually programming our subconscious behaviors and beliefs!
What we learn is equally as important as continuous learning. When we make conscious choices to learn things which will enrich our lives, lift our spirit, raise our energy, increase our health, bring more love and peace, strengthen our faith, and give us valuable life skills, we are programming ourselves to succeed on every level, internally and externally.
If the information we absorb during any given day is what programs our thoughts, beliefs, and actions, it only makes sense to program ourselves with the best possible material available. Just as there is a lot of “trash” in the media and we’re certainly not lacking those who “talk trash”, there is also a wealth of positive information, inspiration, wisdom, and beneficial knowledge available to us both in the media and in other human beings. It’s a matter of choosing what’s best for us and each other.
Sometimes the choice to switch from unconsciously filling
ourselves with “stuff” to consciously choosing beneficial material can be a
little challenging. We all get in to
routines. If you come home and
automatically switch on the TV, it might feel really uncomfortable to leave it off
and pick up an inspirational book instead.
Perhaps another alternative would be to get a yoga or meditation
Being more conscious of the people we surround ourselves with
can feel awkward at first, too.
But the more positive and inspired we become, the more we gravitate toward
others who are working on their spiritual path and the less we want to be
around those who are negative and stuck.
Remember we have input put into our subconscious programming from everywhere, every moment of the day! Let’s choose to make those programs the best they – and we – can be!
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

101 Things I’ve Learned in 50
Trips Around the
In recording these insights and nuggets of wisdom, I hasten to say that I have much more to learn. As it’s been said many times, "The more I know, the more I know I don’t know."
When I left college in 1969, I promised myself I would study harder out of school than in it. I’ve kept that promise. Although some would say it wasn’t that hard to keep, given how little I studied while in school. Nonetheless, I’m committed to a lifelong quest for knowledge and wisdom.
Marcel Proust wrote, "We don’t receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us." I trust that this fiftieth birthday is only an early milestone on a long road and that I’m still in the quest for wisdom even as I draw my last breath.
I’m grateful to all the learned—and sometimes not-so-learned—people I’ve read about, met, lived with and loved who have taught me so much. Some have been shining examples and positive models. Others have been warnings. I appreciate both.
Some of these things I’ve learned easily and quickly. Others required more of a "Mack Truck Approach". And sometimes I needed to be run over more than once in order for me to get it.
Nonetheless, here are some of 101 things I’ve learned —and many times RE-learned—in my first fifty years.
1. Life isn’t fair. I’ve said it to myself and my kids have said it hundreds of times. I always agreed with them. I only wish I’d had this answer for them: Life ISN’T fair—it’s fantastic.
2. It’s better to talk less and say more. And that’s easier said than done.
3. Worry is not a virtue. I used to think you weren’t a responsible person unless you worried about things. What kind of parent doesn’t worry about their children? What I’ve come to know is that worry is like prayer in reverse. What you worry about is what you attract.
4. It’s easier to gain weight than it is to take it off. Like I needed 50 years to learn that! A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
5. When arguing with
your spouse—or anyone else, for that matter—the less said the better.
6. Many so-called religious people are not very spiritual people. The more someone tells me how religious they are, how honest they are or how great they’re, the less I tend to believe them.
7. The sequence is Be, Do, Have—not Do, Have, Be. If I become the person I wish to become, I can do more of the things I want to do and have the things I want to have. Reversing the order is not very effective and it’s not fulfilling.
8. Age has little to do with maturity. I know some very young people who demonstrate great maturity. On the other hand, I’ve met 10-year-olds who’ve had more than 40 birthdays.
9. It’s a lot easier to refrain from saying something than it is to take it back after you’ve said it. In fact, you can never really take something you’ve said back. Like an arrow released from a bow—it cannot be called back. I’ve always remembered this little prayer: "God, help me to make my words this day tender and tasty for I may have to eat them."
10. There’s more to balance than not falling over. I think Ben Franklin said it best, "Nothing to excess." Too much of anything is not a good thing.
11. Air travel. Always try to reserve a seat in an exit row. You get more leg-room and in the event of an emergency, you won’t have to think about where the nearest exit is. Also, planes are easier to catch BEFORE they take off.
12. Having thoughts is not thinking. It’s much more than that. Thinking is hard work—perhaps that’s why so few people engage in it. Voltaire wrote, "No problem can stand the assault of sustained thinking."
13. Thou shalt not should on thyself or others. This is the eleventh commandment. Many people blame others for holding them back. Truth is, we’re usually the quickest to put ourselves down. We shouldn’t "should" on ourselves.
14. Have a soft heart but maintain a thick skin. And never mix them up.
15. Shortcuts seldom work. Perhaps Beverly Sills said it best when she wrote, "There are no shortcuts to any place worth going."
16. Personal responsibility. People who have personal responsibility are very rare indeed. Most people want to fix the blame rather than fix the problem.
17. On the road to comfort, one must be willing to sometimes be
uncomfortable.
18. Clear agreements. With a written agreement, you have a prayer. With a verbal agreement, you have nothing but air. Clarity leads to power and having clear agreements—and keeping them—makes for better relationships.
19. When you're walking on bullsh!t it's easy to slip up. It's not only slippery—it stinks. And other people smell it. No one has a good enough memory to be an excellent liar.
20. Success is not an accident. If you develop the HABITS of success, you will make success a habit.
21. You can be right or you can be happy. If we’re determined to be right and we try to have everyone think we’re right, we’ll give up a good deal of happiness.

8. Sir Froggie’s Pondering — from Sir Froggie
BE THE LOVE.
BE THE LIGHT.
BE THE PEACE.
Have you ever wished for more love in your life? Or hoped for light at the end of a dark tunnel? Have you ever prayed for peace in the middle of chaos?
Be the Love. Be the Light. Be the Peace you desire.
Everything in life is energy. Every emotion, every feeling, every quality, every value, every thing has its own frequency. When we desire something in our lives, the surest way to attract it is to vibrate at its frequency, to literally become it.
What does Love feel like to you? What does Light feel like (whether Light means sunshine, God, or simply hope) to you? What does Peace feel like?
Focus in on Love. Bring your hands to your heart center. Close your eyes, relax and breathe deeply. Recall a time when you felt absolutely loved beyond a doubt. Really let yourself experience the memory and the feelings and sensations that went along with it. Where were you? What was going on? What did you see? Were you smiling, happy, excited, or relaxed and content? What did your body feel like? What did your energy feel like? Was it warm? Really allow yourself to bask in this sensation of being loved.
Now think of a time when you fully felt Love for someone else… maybe a lover, a child, a friend, family member, or pet. Remember how seeing them made you light up with joy and lifted your spirit? Do you recall how your heart felt and the warmth and excitement that flowed through you? Do you remember what that sensation of loving someone else felt like? Was it the same as being loved? If not, what would it feel like to combine the two?
As you recall giving and receiving Love, allow your body to take on the feelings and sensations of Love. Let your mind get in alignment with the positive thoughts and emotions of Love. Literally become Love!
Hold this intention and these feelings in your heart, mind, and body throughout the day. Sense that you are loved by God, your Self, and others. Energetically send Love to everyone you encounter. Notice how much more Love begins to circulate in your life when you are the Love you desire!
People may think the world is a dark and crazy place, yet it can be full of Love, Light and Peace if we generate these qualities in ourselves. Just as you became Love, become the Light… especially in those situations you dread. If you feel discontent with work, focus on bringing your Light, God’s Light, into your workplace by being the Light.
What does Light feel like to you? When do you feel the Light? Who can you bring Light to? How can you shine joy into the dark corners of the workplace and the world? Some suggestions are to energetically send Light to everyone you see, speak only positive words about others, reach out with inspirational words of praise and encouragement, and always be there to lend a hand, a hug, or even just a smile. Be the Light!
What does Peace feel like to you? When and where do you need it the most? How can you center yourself to become Peace-filled? Beginning the day in meditation or a centering practice such as yoga or walking in nature can harmonize your body’s frequency into one of Peace. When you are peace-full, you become Peace!
Take this Peace with you throughout your day. Energetically send Peace to all those you encounter. Allow no one and no thing to take away your Peace. Re-center and calm yourself as needed.
If we want more Peace on a global scale, we must bring more Peace into our personal lives. It always starts within. No matter what’s going on around us, we can remain calm—the protected eye of the storm. We can ask for and see the Divine Truth of any situation. Remaining anchored in Peace, we can focus on the solution, allowing our centeredness to bring it forth.
Be the Love.
Be the Light.
Be the Peace.
