Howdy Folks and Good Day!

We’re back from Summer Holiday and happy to connect with you again! Life is such a precious and amazing gift, and it’s even better when we get to share it with one another.

God’s really put it on my heart to let each and every one of us know we are a special divine being, uniquely created with gifts, talents, and blessings to bring to our world.  One way to increase our awareness of this is to start the day by asking, “God, please speak and work through me, today.”

What exactly does it feel like when God speaks and works through us?

Do you know?  Do you recognize it?  Do you see it? Feel it?  Hear it?

God is a lot of things to a lot of different people.  But there is a distinct divine “God” energy that’s unmistakable when you feel it.  Those of you who’ve shared your “Soul Magic” stories know what it is.  Anyone who has created a beautiful baby and realized the miracle of life you held in your arms has felt it and seen it.  Every time you’ve watched a sunset or sunrise and your heart was overwhelmed by the beauty, you’ve experienced it.  And any time you’ve truly looked into someone’s eyes and felt their soul, you’ve recognized it.

God really is everywhere; all around us, in us, outside of us, and flowing through us.  God’s being is energy and energy itself is everywhere.  The question is: do we allow ourselves to experience this positive energy?  Do we allow ourselves to connect with it and let it work in our lives?

It’s such an amazing experience to really feel God flowing through us, to know He’s speaking the words coming out of our mouth, or the moving force behind the sudden inspiration we received.

I’m not here to tell you what religion to practice or how to worship your definition of God.  I’m not even going to try to define the details of what God is.  But I am going to ask you to let God flow through your life, to fill you up, and illuminate your soul because it brings a quality and joy de vivre  to life nothing else can.

In the South they used to describe a person who had God’s Light shining through them as “on fire” with the Spirit.  So I’m inviting you to join me in getting lit!  Together we can truly brighten our world.

And if the whole “God thing” is a little scary to you, don’t fret.  Just open your heart and mind and ask to experience the divine.  If you want to know what God looks like uniquely manifested into human form just look in the mirror and you’ll see a perfect reflection of Spirit.

Recognize the God energy everywhere you look and have a truly GREAT day!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

What Do You Expect?

As illustrated by the following story about a Chicago public school teacher, expectations do indeed play a significant role in the results we create.

Mary Daugherty was faced with a sixth grade class that was full of misfits who were so intractable she suspected they had learning disabilities. In desperation, she broke a school rule and looked at her students' files where their IQ scores were stored.

And she was amazed by what she found.

Most of her students had IQs in the high 120s and 130s. That's pretty close to genius.  Her students had not been challenged because it was presumed they were not capable enough. Armed with her newfound knowledge, she decided they needed more, not less, challenging assignments. She upped the amount of homework and doled out stern punishments for misbehavior.

By the end of that semester, the turnaround was dramatic. Her class was one of the best behaved and most successful in the entire sixth grade. When a very impressed principle asked Mrs. Daugherty how she had engineered such a turnabout, she confessed her raid on the IQ files. Based on such dramatic success, the principle decided it was best to overlook her rule-breaking.

But he did have some additional insight into the experience. As she turned to go back to her classroom, he said, "By the way, I think you should know: those numbers next to the kids' names? It's not their IQ scores. It's their locker numbers."

What we expect of others does influence the behavior and the results. And what we expect of ourselves plays a significant role in what we achieve—or don’t achieve.

When we were growing up, many of us were advised not to have too high an expectation so we wouldn't be disappointed. We were told we "shouldn't get our hopes up."

I think there can be a happy balance here. I think you can be optimistic and realistic at the same time. I believe in high expectations without an ATTACHMENT to the expectation.

The truth is, we don't really know what we or others are capable of doing. And all too often—like the students in Mrs. Daugherty's class—we need to be challenged and encouraged. We need to challenge, encourage and believe in ourselves. Set high expectations for yourself. Have high expectations of your team. YOU can do it.

5.      Sir Froggie’s Pondering — from Sir Froggie

WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD –
YOU *
ARE* SERVING YOUR PURPOSE!

Do you remember being told what it’s like to live in the “real world”?  Do you know what you want to do with your life?  Do you what your life’s purpose is?

Welcome to the real world – you ARE serving your purpose!

No matter what circumstances we’re in God can make the best of them.  He brings blessings to the most adverse situations.  And He can bless others through each and every one of us.

Whether or not you realize it, God works through you.  Yes, YOU.

Every time you help someone, encourage someone, or bring a sense of love, joy, peace, support or inspiration God is working through you.  No matter what job you are doing, your purpose here is to help others.

We often believe our purpose is tied to our careers and the job we’re doing. We think in order to serve our purpose and be of value we must first get the career off the ground and find fame and fortune.  That couldn’t be further from the truth!

No matter where we are, or what we are doing, we are already serving our purpose!  That’s because we’re interacting with others and as we do so, God interacts with us.  In our heart of hearts we know this already but the ego may try to convince us otherwise.

If we get still and tune into the incredible love and grace available to us 24/7 we can’t deny the presence of God.  We may sometimes block it out with our fear or getting caught up in the details of life, but God is always flowing through us, always working through our words, deeds, and actions.  With our invitation and willingness, He can make us much more aware of His energy and His promptings.

God is not separate from anyone.  Even if we haven’t learned to recognize our connection, the Divine still flows through us and touches the hearts and lives of others.  As we tune in to this amazing energy it increases and expands as it beats our heart, breathes our body and opens our mind to an even deeper level.

It usually doesn’t matter what we’re doing in life so much as our willingness to be an open channel for the Holy Spirit.  When we reach out to others with love and compassion–regardless of whether it’s to our lover, partner, family, friends, kids, the elderly, the boss, the teacher, or anyone else—we allow the Divine to work between us.  And that, my friends, is serving our purpose.

So welcome to the real world – you ARE serving your purpose!
