Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Today’s affirmation is “I Love my Self.”

That’s a declaration which can evoke many, many, different reactions from people depending on where they are in their spiritual journey.  The secret to happiness begins with a love for Self.  Not a conceited, egotistic love.  That’s not really love anyway.  Happiness stems from a nurturing, respectful love which recognizes your Self as a divine expression manifest in human form, a form which requires nurturing, proper care, and respect.

When you say, “I Love my Self,” how does it feel?

Do you feel God’s positive and loving energy rushing through your veins or do you feel the death grip of Ego and Fear trying to convince you that loving your Self is a lie?  Do you feel the vibration of truth when you speak the words “I Love my Self” or do you feel the vibrations of Ego and Fear trying to question your worthiness?

No matter where you are in your journey, LOVE YOUR SELF.

It’s love of Self which enables us to dream, to take care of ourselves, to show up and utilize all our gifts, to be in positive relationships, to respect ourselves and others, and to have the faith to grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually.

Sometimes loving ourselves means retreating to rest, meditate, gather our thoughts, or just gain clarity.  It requires providing a healthy diet, ample sleep, and appropriate exercise as well as a nurturing home space.

Loving our Self also means helping ourselves get back up after taking an unexpected tumble. Whether that tumble is a tiny slip or a quadruple back-flip, jack-knifed, tuck-n-roll doesn’t matter as much as giving ourselves what we need to make it through the tumultuous times and back into the swing of our lives.  We’re all going to encounter those surprises which send us for a loop. When we do, it’s crucial to focus on the eternal loop of God and His connection to us.  For it’s in this circle of Love and Light that we find our own Light and begin to shine again.

Today, and every day, may you speak the words, “I Love my Self,” knowing and feeling it as the absolute truth.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

DOES THE LORD KNOW ME PERSONALLY?
By Author and Motivational Speaker, Ellie Braun-Haley

Our connections with family, friends, neighbors and God are of utmost importance and if we don’t put effort into the relationships they can be fragile.

When my marriage ended and I was suddenly thrust out into the world to earn a living for myself and my son, I felt as if I’d lost all connection. The job I located was in a new city where I had no friends and suddenly I was frightened. I’d never been on my own before. I had always lived under the care, first of my father and then my husband. I did not realize my Heavenly Father knew my worries and had set about to cover me with His protection.

In the first months of living in that new environment, settling into an entirely different way of life, my fears seemed to vanish. I felt “special.”  I eventually realized this feeling came about because I was surrounded by God’s protective angels. I could feel it!

It was an amazing time for me and as I look back on it I can see just how precious I am to my Heavenly Father. It was as though God placed me in a cocoon whereby no one could hurt me. He stayed with me for a few months and then one day I realized He wanted me to try my wings, solo. In fact, it was the release itself which helped me to realize just how protective God had been.

Since that time our Lord has given me personal revelation, has answered innumerable prayers, has shown me how to utilize healing energy to help my sister and my mother, and has given me a calmness so I could utilize and succeed with the talents He blessed me with. Daily my Heavenly Father continues to teach me endless lessons. He knows me and as I strive to stay connected to Him, He guides and supports me.

I’d actually never put a lot of thought into whether God, our Heavenly Father knew me personally until one day, it hit me …”God really cares about me.”

We are children of God and HE knows each of us personally. We have and need “connection” in this life and the connection to our family and friends is important; yet even more significant and imperative is that connection to our Father in Heaven. When we start each day and end each day speaking to Him we keep the connection strong!

BE WELL AND LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!

A Little extra from Ellie:

One day at a garage sale just a block from our office, I sat down and began visiting with two ladies. Here is a story one of the ladies shared with me…

One day, her coloring ignored, three year old Kathy sat at the table, gazing out the window.

“What are you doing Kathy?” her mother asked

“I’m thinking,” responded the youngster.

Her mother asked, “Well, what exactly is thinking?”

In the space of a second young Kathy turned to look at her mother and responded, “that is when I use my voice that doesn’t speak!”

Thinking of you with a quiet loving voice and reminding you that often GOD SPEAKS to us with a quiet loving voice.Ellie Braun-Haley

A FOREVER HOME FOSTER PUP CARE
By Lisa and Debbie

One of the coolest things in life is when a person finds something that they really care about and enjoy doing; and not only does it fulfill them, it helps make the world a better place.

I’d like to share with you a request I recently received because I am all about sharing; especially things that I think are pretty darn cool.  I think Debbie is cool.  I think what she is doing is cool.  So I wanted to share it with you.  Cool?

* * *

How are you?  I hope all is well.

I don't know if I have told you that I have gotten seriously involved in dog/puppy rescue.  I started volunteering for a wonderful group called A Forever Home, about a year ago.

We are all volunteers and we get no financial support other than individual donations.  We save an average of 1000 dogs and puppies a year.  All our dogs/pups stay in foster homes until they get adopted.  We have no facilities but hold our adoption days at the Petco in Chantilly, Virginia.

I have fostered and found wonderful homes for 48 puppies in the last year.  It is the most rewarding "job" I have ever done.  And the more I do, the more I want to do.  There are so many wonderful animals that need homes and love.  Millions of these fabulous dogs (and cats) are euthanized every year and I'm actively working to stop that.

Anyway, we really need more foster homes.  A foster home is simply a safe place to keep a dog or litter of puppies until they can be adopted.  It is really fun and extremely rewarding to save a dog or puppies.

A foster person can decide how many dogs/pups they want to foster.  A person can foster once a year or twice a year or continuously have a needy animal in their home.  Also, AFH provides everything a person needs to foster an animal: crates, food, xpens, etc.

We can use as much or as little help as a person is willing to give.  Our website is www.aforeverhome.org   People can go on the site and see the wonderful dogs and cats that we currently have.  The more fosters we have the more animals we can save!

Would you be willing to send out an email (or this email) to your friends and let them know about us?  I know your group of friends give back to the world and try to make it a better place.  Our group needs people like you.

Anyone who is interested can email me.  I would be glad to talk about all the great work AFH does.  Also, please tell everyone to come out to our adoption days, which are held every Sunday at the Petco in Chantilly, Virginia from 1-4.

Thanks so much.

Never Waste a Moment to Tell Someone

The summer of 2007 didn't turn out how I expected or planned for it to go. Yet, as summers often do, it held many surprises and treasured memories.

I learned again this summer, something I almost forgot… that teenagers and the elderly are very much alike. They want to be treated and valued as individuals with their own dreams and desires, and they don't want to be told “you’re too young” or “too old” to do things or make choices on their own.

This summer was a difficult one.   My 90 year old mother was hospitalized and I was told I should put her in a nursing home.   "No Way!" was my reaction. "Take her off all these medications and see what she is really like."

Well, they did! They took her off half of the medications and they now see a peppy, loving, independent, spry 90 year old, who we have a hard time keeping from doing things.

Other difficult times during the summer were because relatives and friends passed on to their soul's graduation… Some suddenly, some after suffering from a long illness.  It is sometimes hard to find words to console a grieving heart.  But just saying "We love you, and we are here for you" does give some comfort if it is sincere.

Throughout this trying summer I saw hearts softened and teens learning that God loves them just the way they are.

I heard dreams that were never spoken about before… Aspirations and hopes for the future… And I saw a tenderness grow between the teens and the elderly that was never there before.  Previously they would just stay to themselves at funerals or other events, thinking no one was interested in them or what they were feeling, or what they had to say.

I learned that paying someone a compliment puts a smile on their face for the entire day.  (Even if they don't really believe what you say.)

I also learned that saying "I Love You" to different people in your life (even a million times a day) is never enough!  Never waste a moment to tell someone: "I care about you" ... "I love you" ... "God loves you" ... "Have a great day!"
