Howdy Folks and Good Day!

We all want the good times to last and the troublesome times to just go away!  Truth be known, there really are blessings in every situation if we’re willing to see them.  The challenge becomes: how do we see the blessings in the midst of the chaos and heart aches?

I wish I could give you a fail-proof answer, the kind you can just put on like a favorite sweater you know fits perfectly and will keep you warm every time.  But Life has a funny way of being subjective to our moods and attitudes which means… well, to put it bluntly, it’s up to us.

One thing that works for me is to try to see through the eyes of love.  That’s easy to do when I’m in a positive, loving mood.  Not so easy when I’m out of sorts or feel love is being threatened.  Here’s some insight: the more often we see from a place of love, the sooner we notice when we don’t.  It’s kind of like having a splinter.  When we’re in a healthy place, everything seems normal and we might not even notice our finger is on the pulse of love.  But when we get a splinter of fear, resentment, or ego thinking, it bugs the bejeebers out of us.  It gets agitated over every little thing.  Besides that, it hurts and continually draws our attention to what’s wrong.

I definitely know when I am—and when I’m not—looking through the lens of love.  I know it because when I look through love, even if I disagree with someone, I’m at ease. I feel good about myself.  I even feel good about them.  But when I’m not looking through love and the lens gets clouded, I feel it and it feels lousy!   If we’re feeling lousy this is a signal to stop and switch tactics.  Will we listen?  How soon?

Another thing which helps me get out of the heartaches and chaos is meditating and praying.

I love to call on God, my angels and even a few “ancestors” or “spirit guides” for help.  Don’t worry if you’re skeptical, you don’t even have to believe they are real for it to work.  You just have to ask for help and expect a positive outcome.

After praying, it’s to our benefit to listen for any promptings or insights that come to us afterward.  I’ll be the first to admit when I’m upset with someone, and I receive the insight to apologize or to treat them with love and compassion, resistance tends to speak up. “What?  But they started it?  Why should I have to make amends?”  However, resisting peace with someone else often means resisting our own peace of mind and creating discomfort or dis-ease within our heart.  So when we get the answers to our prayers, even if they’re not what we were hoping for, it’s usually a good idea to follow through.

By the way, God doesn’t get someone else fired just to make us feel good.   Nor will He make another woman gain 50 pounds in a week just so you can win that guy’s attention. We’ve got a much better chance of successful manifestation when we ask for all those involved, including ourselves, to be blessed!

Finally, to pull myself out of anything, I love using a technique called the Illumination Process.  I think of whatever situation (or person) is troubling me and ask God and the angels to surround it with the Light of Divine Love.  I visualize the angels spinning a cocoon of loving Light around it and me, and in the process, creating a natural solution to the situation.  It doesn’t matter what the situation is, I just keep illuminating it until I can visualize it being resolved in a positive way, resulting in the highest good for all.

Although this might sound a little “airy fairy” to those of us used to dealing with concrete evidence and physically tangible results, working in the energetic realm using the Illumination Process brings about amazing results.

I’ve used the illumination process on myself, on health issues, my kitties, friends, family, and even problematic co-workers when requested.  I’ve used it to manifest a new car, a new client, and even a more romantic date night with my husband.  It works!   And the really cool thing is that when you use the illumination process to light up a challenging situation with Divine Love, you also fill yourself with this spiritual essence and lift yourself up as well.

It would be nice if everything were roses without the thorns, but the truth of the matter is there’s usually more stems and leaves than flower.  So we might as well enjoy the greenery and lean how to handle the thorns while still basking in the fragrance of the rose petals.

Here’s to recognizing when we’re down, asking for help, and learning to illuminate our hearts and minds.

Have a really GREAT day!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

FROM BAD NEWS TO GOOD NEWS
  by Marsha Jordan

If you have ever been at a point in your life when you thought it could not get much worse, then you can probably relate to what happened to Marsha Jordan.

An incurable illness, loss of her eye sight, loss of a job, her grandson's serious injury, her son's lung cancer diagnosis, and depression all seemed to pile up at once.  But Marsha turned what seemed to be a drastic downturn in her life not only into something that gave her purpose and meaning, but something that has tremendous impact on the lives of others.  Marsha is the author of "Hugs, Hope, and Peanut Butter" and the founder of the non-profit charity, The Hugs and Hope Foundation (www.hugsandhope.org).  This nationwide group of over 3,000 volunteers is devoted to providing smiles for kids with serious illnesses, injuries, or handicaps.

One little boy dubbed Jordan "The Peanut Butter Queen" because of her philosophy: "Love, hope, and joy are sticky, like peanut butter!  When you spread them around, you can't help but get some on yourself too."

Jordan is available for interviews to tell her story of how she went from disabled and feeling useless to running a national nonprofit and doing the most worthwhile work of her life.  She'll talk about her new book, illustrated by sick kids; and she'll inform your listeners of ways they can make a difference in the world -- one smile at a time.

Call Jordan at 715-282-7271 or email hugsandhope@gmail.com to set up an interview.

THANK GOD FOR THE FLEAS
— Thanks to Larry H.

When the prisoners arrived at Ravensbruck they had to give up everything they had with them. Corrie was determined to keep the Bible and the vitamin drops. Somehow she managed to smuggle them in without a guard seeing them.

When they first moved into the barrack-room, the conditions there made the women angry and selfish. There were arguments and fights. Everyone suffered so much that they spent all their energy looking after themselves.

When Betsie noticed this, she began to pray that God would give peace to the barrack-room. Very soon the atmosphere changed. The women became a little more patient with each other. They even began to make a few jokes about their troubles.

In the evenings, after a hard day's work and a miserable supper, Corrie and Betsie took out the little Dutch Bible. At first a small group gathered round to listen, then more and more women joined them.

The guards never came in to stop them, because of the fleas. So Corrie and Betsie thanked God for the fleas!

I have had several events happen this year.

The week of Pam's "Soul Graduation Anniversary" I was offered a much improved work situation, heaven sent I know.  And my oldest daughter has a bundle of scholarships as she heads to college this fall.

Here is an affirmation for you, "The love of the universe is faithful."

6.      Wednesday WORD — by Diane, The California Dreamer

SUMMER VACATION 2007

It hardily seems possible that it has been almost 4 months since my last article.  I just came home from a wonderful Women's Retreat at the Serra Retreat Center in Malibu, CA.  Words don't express how beautiful the grounds are there.  I was ever so moved by the views from the top of the mountain where the center is located.  The vista from the gardens of the mountains and the ocean were truly amazing.

Several times, I was moved to tears sitting quietly contemplating my life.  After listening to our speakers I found myself so full of gratitude for having the courage to change my life, and for how far I have come from where I was so long ago.  I also realized most all of us don't give ourselves the credit due for making changes—no matter how small, or even if we don't feel we have done anything to change.

This weekend made me think about how very fortunate I really am.

I had a great summer that started with a fantastic cruise in Hawaii.  I enjoyed getting away and relaxing in paradise.  I had been there eight years ago with my son Gregory after I first got divorced.  I realized the reason I enjoyed it so much more this time was due to where I am in my life today.  Again, it was an insight to just how far I have come in my own personal growth.  My current consciousness is so much more beyond where it was eight years ago.

I later spent a week at Asilomar with Religious Science International.  I saw many of the same people I met last year at that retreat and it was like a home coming.  I again raised my consciousness and moved a bit more in my spiritual growth.  The grounds at Asilomar are breathtakingly beautiful.  I had time to relax and just enjoy the scenery.

I also went to the Hollywood Bowl three times.  Each time I went I sat in awe at the surroundings, and each time I could not have custom ordered a better evening.  The music is always outstanding and again, I was filled with gratitude for being in Southern California and giving myself the chance to experience all that was available.  The third concert I attended was on my birthday. Spending the evening with a valued friend and talking to all the people around us combined with the perfect Southern California weather made this one of my best birthdays yet.

Scattered in-between all the events and places I had planned were some outstanding trips to the beach and walks along the ocean.  Every chance I get, I like to head down to Malibu to one of the state parks to spend time refreshing my heart and soul.

Maybe this shouldn't be just about summer vacation, but about gratitude.  The one thread throughout my entire summer experience has been just that - Gratitude.  I am without a doubt ever so thankful that I made this move, that I followed my heart's desire and had the courage to make the changes necessary to be living my California Dream.

When you look back on your summer -- can you say the same?

Here's to a great fall and having the courage to do whatever is necessary to make your dreams come true.
