Howdy Folks and Good Day!

An amazing thing has happened through the nine years Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network has been in existence… our newsletter, authors and readers have all continued to grow!  This growth has been in every area from finances to fitness, perspective and attitude to spirituality and everything in between.

One of the things that has helped me to grow personally is being connected to a higher consciousness.  Sometimes that consciousness is a direct link to God and my angels.  Sometimes it’s through the form of conversations with others.  And more often than not, it is sparked from books and classes I’m taking.  There have been so many resources that have helped me along the way, and I try to pass that knowledge and those resources along to you.

Sometimes it’s a little more challenging than others.  I’m doing my best NOT to advertise in SFPNN while still trying to share good news about products, businesses, classes, services and other resources that are helpful.  It’s a delicate balance.

We all know spiritual growth isn’t about buying the latest stuff.  It’s about going within and going with a power greater than ourselves.  Yet there are many tools that can help us recognize what that Universal Source is and bring us to a place where we are more consciously aware of our connection.

In the past several years, I’ve been given many ideas for merchandise we could offer to SFPNN’s readers.  In all honesty I have not pursued these ideas even though I know they could be helpful.  There are multiple reasons (cough, cough, or maybe excuses) why I haven’t yet…  For starters, I really have been busy building my skills and knowledge and keeping SFPNN going in addition to creating a healing business, working on my education and maintaining my relationship with Mark.  New products require a good bit of time, effort and money, things I’ve been utilizing elsewhere. And I wasn’t sure if you would be interested or actually buy them.  I’m also not fond of marketing.  And last but not least, I have so many freakin’ ideas I didn’t know where to start!  J

Yet as time passes, these ideas are getting louder and clearer and I know they are meant to be brought to life!   Some of them are easier to implement than others.  No matter which one I begin with, it’s not going to happen over night.  But I can at least get started.  That’s where I need your help!

I’d like to know which of the following you would be interested in purchasing IF they were available.  I’m not taking orders right now, nor am I asking for a commitment.  I’m just doing some research and I would love for you to hit the reply button to let me know which of the following items you would consider getting for yourself or as a gift to others.   Also, if there’s something you’ve been looking for or hoping to find that is NOT listed, please let me know what it is!

In addition, please let me know if you’d be more interested in SFPNN, Sir Froggie, or Angel items, or just general spiritually or positively themed things.

So here are some of the possibilities of future merchandise…

A Money Tree Kit to help manifest prosperity

Anything else you can think of!

So there you have it folks.  These are all ideas that have been floating around in mine and Mark’s minds for a couple of years now, some of them since SFPNN’s creation.

Which of the above would peak your interest?  Which do you think you’d consider purchasing?  What price range would you like to keep your purchases in?  Is there anything specific (item, design, theme, etc.) you really, really want?   Do you have any other comments or feedback?

Also, if we do make these items available, how would you like us to market them to you?  On the website?  At the end of the newsletter?  At the beginning of each issue?  Any other suggestions?

I really, really do NOT want SFPNN to be about advertising.  Our Positive News Network is a gift to you meant to lift you up, inspire you and hopefully help you feel better about yourself, reach toward your dreams and grow a little in the process.  You don’t need to buy anything to do that!

We’re doing the best we can to deliver our e-zine without any kind of charge to you and the above products are some of the many possibilities.  I’m open to hearing more.

So please take just a moment to hit the reply button and send a quick note with your personal preferences.   Again, there is NO commitment required as none of these products have made it past the idea stage YET.  J  We’re just trying to figure out where to start, and if to begin at all.

Thanks for your help!   And thanks for continuing to make SFPNN one of the best places on the web!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

A Child to Lead, A Child to Comfort

By Liz of Mexico City
Thanks to Ellie Braun-Haley

In 1993, I had come to terms with the destruction of Hurricane Andrew (it had caused me a lot of personal problems) and I had returned to Oaxaca, Mexico to continue my idyllic life there. I can only stay 6 months at a time and I had my reservations to return to the U.S. Upon my return, I was planning to spend a nice long time visiting my mother and getting caught up with all the things that had sort of slipped by in the last couple of years. I was really looking forward to it.

On August 25, I received a phone call at Instituto Cultural (this is a language school where I do volunteer work).  The news hit me so hard. I was told that my mother had died suddenly. The shock was terrible, and made even worse with the thought that I wanted to be with her so much. I of course made reservations on the next flight. I could get a late evening flight out of Oaxaca and a five-hour layover in Mexico City before flying out at 2:30 am. Needless to say, I was in a terribly distraught state, almost frantic at the length of time it would take me to reach Jacksonville (16 hours) and I knew my sister was having to deal with everything immediately.

I found a sort of platform to sit on, as there are no comfortable places on the ground floor of the Mexico City airport. I couldn't go upstairs to the waiting rooms until I could check in and there was no one at the counter.

I know I must have looked a fright - grief does that - and I just wanted to be there (at home with my family). Suddenly, I heard a loud commotion - it sounded like a large group of people having a wonderful time - and I was a little apprehensive at what could be happening. I looked down the almost empty concourse and saw a group of people coming my way. It was made up of various ages and both sexes - starting with a chubby little girl of about 8 years, up through a woman who appeared to be close to my own age. The floors of the airport had just been cleaned and waxed and the young ones in this group were having a great time pulling each other along, and slipping and sliding. Lots of laughter, and I knew somehow that it was one of the wonderful extended families so common in Mexico.

They spotted me, and came up to where I was sitting, with my feet propped up on my suitcase (full of way too much since I didn't know what I'd be needing) and they surrounded me and started bombarding me with the usual questions aimed at foreigners…

Do you speak Spanish? Where are you from? Where are you going? Etc., etc. Well, of course I wasn't really up to conversation in Spanish, or in English for that matter, but I tried to be polite and answer them. Then they started telling me why they were at the airport in the middle of the night. A close relative had died suddenly and they were meeting members of the family from a distant country because the funeral was the next day. Well, I was a bit taken aback at their merriment (I understand more now) and I didn't tell them my own reason for traveling alone at such a late hour. They talked with me for about 1/2 hour and then it was time for them to meet their relatives, so they gave me abrazos (hugs) and besitos (kisses) and scurried off down the airport walkway.

Suddenly, the little 8-year-old girl broke from the group and returned to where I was sitting. She pulled a silver chain with a religious medal from her neck and put it my hand. Then she hugged me and said I needed it more than she did - and then she was gone!

I looked at the medal and it was an oval of silver with the Madonna and Child in bas-relief. I was so touched at the obvious perception of this young child that when I was with my sister at the funeral home the next day, I asked if the medal could be pinned to my mother's clothing, and it was.

I thought about the kindness that had prompted this action and felt so much better about my own sadness.

You can imagine my surprise when the Mass cards were handed out at the service and the cover was the identical Madonna and Child portrait. I still feel sad when I think I wasn't near when my mother passed on, but I am also grateful that she didn't suffer a long illness, or extreme pain for any length of time. And when I think of that close family, and their reaction to the same sort of tragedy, I realize that we never really lose anyone we love.

7.      Tuesday Trivia

Failure:  Samuel Johnson dropped out of Oxford in 1729 after 14 months and never received a degree.  In 1735, he founded a private school in Edial, which went out of business within two years, prompting Johnson to move to London, nearly penniless.

Success: Samuel Johnson became the greatest English writer of his day, best known for his poem, “The Vanity of Human Wishes” and his books London, Dictionary of the English Lnaguage, and Rasselas, Prince of Abyssintia.

8.      God Given Daisies       — by Carole Devecka

Still A Dreamer of Impossible Things...

For the past few weeks I have been tossing and turning with an idea of where to move a museum. No easy task. It seems nothing I take on is really easy.

Do you find yourself taking on the impossible? I certainly do!

Is it that we are "Super Achievers" or is it that we are being pushed by a higher authority to achieve higher things?

Sunday I went to dinner with a friend. We have been friends for over thirty years.  On the way back from dinner, I told her that I wanted to drive her to a park to see what she thought of a project I was working on.

As I drove into the park, I explained what I was dreaming about and what I had to do to accomplish these dreams.  Believing that "Thoughts Are Things," I laid out my thoughts to her.

She got it instantly!  And…

She caught the fever of dreaming the improbable... and believing that "With God, nothing is impossible."

"Believe and you will receive."

"Act as if it is!" She remembers me saying that to her a million times when she was a single mother in a menial job.  Now she repeats it back to me.

It really makes me smile to think about how far she has come, and we still laugh at the things that changed her life around. One year, while working at her minimal wage job, a load of Christmas trees fell on her, and her back was severely injured. When she called me to tell me of her accident, I asked immediately how she was. My second sentence was "This is a blessing in disguise!" Now you can get on Vocational Rehabilitation Programs and you will be able to go to school and “Become anything you want to be."

She still laughs, because at the time she didn't believe me, and she thought (as many others have) "This lady is crazy! I am lying in pain, and she is charting my future career.”

Today, she is a Social Worker helping others through their worst days and making them believe in what they can achieve.

All the way back from the park, she was filling me in on what my plans should include and where I should go to get others involved in achieving these goals. I am still smiling because “with God and friends, truly, nothing is impossible!"
