Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Welcome to the weekend!

Autumn has arrived in many places and I truly hope you’re taking some time to enjoy it.   I know life can often seem hectic or there can be many reasons that seem to get in the way of doing what we want, but the bottom line is we must decide we are worth living life for!

I’ve had the honor to be with several people just before or at the moment of their Soul’s Graduation.   They talked of many things… Family, friends, God, angels, pets, their travels and what meant the most to them.

A few wished they had more time to spend with those they cared for...

But no one, not one person, ever said, “I wish I had gotten more stuff done.”

No one, not one person said, “I wish I would have worked more.”

No one, not one person said, “I should have kept the house cleaner and completed everything in my in box.”

No one, not one person said, “I regret not accomplishing more.”

No one, not one person said, “I should have made more money.”

I’ll tell you what they did say…

“I wish I could hold my family just one last time.”

“Could you open the window? I want to remember the sweet scent of the breeze and feel the sunshine one last time.”

“Tell her that she was like a sister to me and I am forever grateful.”

“Thank you for being here.”

“Let them know I love them.”

“I love you.”

They talked about the things which created pleasant memories for them.  They talked a little about what brought them tears, but they were grateful to have made it through.  Primarily they talked about the people who meant the most to them and the times that were shared together.

And that’s kind of what I’m trying to get at… It’s so important to take time to enjoy life with each other… to MAKE time.

Because those heart connections – to people, animals, God, nature – they’re what really matters.  Why?  Because they touch our soul!  And it’s our soul that goes with us when we make that transition.

Today, clear away the clutter that’s blocking the connection with your soul.  Open the schedule for your weekend and figure out a way to spend some moments savoring life and those you love – including yourself.  It doesn’t matter as much HOW you do it as long as you take the time to do it.

God bless each of you and have a truly special weekend!  May it become one the those things you look back on with great love, fondness and joy.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

4.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

5.      Kindness Suggestion

“WELCOME HOME”

I both work and “go to school” on-line from my home so most of the folks I communicate with are over the internet.  My husband loves me dearly but works at an office during the day and often works in his home office at night.   Because of varying schedules and locations, I stay in touch with most of my friends via e-mail.  I’ve sometimes wondered if anyone would actually notice if I wasn’t physically here.

Over the summer, I had a photography gig in Indianapolis.  It’s one of my favorite jobs in the whole world.  I get to take pictures of magnificent aircraft, talk to veterans from WWII and up, and help raise money for kids at the Riley Hospital for Children, not to mention seeing family members and friends, and  working with an incredible group of folks.  What’s not to love?!

As much as I do love that job, it wears me out.  I usually get only four to five hours of sleep a night while there and am so physically and emotionally exhausted by the time I get home I sometimes feel like I could disappear!

Maybe that’s why it meant so much.

When my husband picked me up from the Los Angeles airport he gave me a great big hug and said, “Welcome home, Honey.  I missed you.”  It felt wonderful and I could have just melted into his arms right then and there.

The forty-five minute ride home wasn’t too bad and it felt really good to be greeted at the door by my kitties.  I gave them a few scritches and then went to the fridge where I was surprised to see a small post-it note on the door.  It was from a friend who helped kitty sit while I was gone and my husband was working.  It was quite simple and read:

“Welcome Home, Jeanette.  We missed you.”

Yet those words, spoken both from my husband and from my friend, meant so much!

We all want to know we make a difference.  At the photo shoot, I KNEW I was making a difference.  I knew I was helping folks and I knew I was appreciated.  Sometimes it’s not quite as easy to tell with the people we’re close to and see frequently.  Those simple words “Welcome Home.  We missed you” can say a lot more than that… Like “we care about you” and “it’s different without you.”  Or to answer my questioning thoughts, “You do make a difference being here.”

As you return to your home today, this evening or whenever you arrive, welcome yourself home.  Because you do matter!

And if you’re waiting for a friend or a loved one to arrive, take a few minutes to leave a simple “Welcome Home” note.  You may never know the difference it can make!

6.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

E-mail: “KINDNESS

7.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

While contemplating the changing of the seasons, this song came to me.

showers of leaves

A shower of leaves is falling
Gently to the ground.
Winter will soon come calling,
As the cycle of life goes round.
I smell the crispness in the wind that blows,
Making the pretty leaves fly,
Thereby reminding me that time’s not standing still.
May I move forward with intent
To accomplish what I came here to do
And not just live to pay the rent.

8.      The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

Sir Froggie's Positive News Network is proud to present
The SFPNN Positivity Link Award to:

SONGS OF LOVE, THE MEDICINE OF MUSIC

http://www.songsoflove.org/frame.html

“With the gift of listening comes the gift of healing.”                                        --Catherine de Hueck

“For your born writer, nothing is so healing as the realization that he has come upon the right word.”                                                                                            --Catherine Drinker Bowen

This organization is very unusual and wonderful.  They are providing sick children with a source of inspiration, joy, and possibly even healing, by creating personalized one-of-a-kind songs for them.

You can join them in many different ways to help them with their beautiful mission:

1.      Becoming a Song of Love Songwriter is one way you can participate.  If you are a songwriter they’ll provide a profile of a child, which includes their name, special interests, hobbies, friends, family, etc. You then weave this information into an original composition that is custom-made for the young patient.

2.       Getting A Counter Display with brochures for your facility to help Songs of Love reach out with their “Medicine of Music” to let patient’s friends and family know that this is available to help their child with their healing process is another way to spread the good news.

3.       Referring A Child you know to receive a personal CD with a song about them is such a joy to share.

4.      Become A Song of Love Messenger.  They are looking for; caring individuals to pay personal visits to ailing children, through friends, neighbors, hospitals, doctors, schools, organizations or wherever they may be, and to help each child and family fill out our special profile sheet.

5.      Raising Funds, Raising Voices is a special program, which enables company employees, school kids and other groups to help us financially and creatively. As a bonus to a group's fundraising efforts on our behalf, Songs of Love staff has been holding on-site recording sessions with our portable studio. People across the country are becoming instant "recording artists" as they all sing on these guaranteed "hit " songs of love!

6.      By Volunteering Your Time and Talent supporters are encouraged to contribute their time and talents to this worthy cause. Get creative! Tell the friends in your address book about Songs of Love, have a mini-fundraiser, find a child at your local hospital who needs "the Medicine of Music" - or call us if you need some ideas.

7.      Become A Song Sponsor with a financial donation, but as you can see there are so many other ways to give besides money.

To get more information about these opportunities click the “Join Us” link on the left side of this web page.

I would like to thank Jeanette for bringing this web site to my attention.
