Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Have you ever noticed how we have a tendency to believe our choices are limited to either A or B.  Sometimes we even get to choose from C and D, too, but then we stop there.

I always laugh when I fill out surveys because so often what I think, feel, or want in a product or service is NOT on their list of options!  So I do the one thing every marketing surveyor absolutely hates… I write in my own answers!

I do that a lot in life.  Afterall, we’ve been given free will.  Many people have fought all over the world to obtain that freedom.  Yet so often we give our freedom away to others and limit ourselves to someone else’s choices.  I’m not just talking about marketing surveys, either.

Somewhat wisely, we tend to make our choices based on past experiences… “This worked well for me in the past, that didn’t.”  While it’s good to realize what worked and what didn’t, we truly limit ourselves if we stick only to the familiar and what we already know.

It’s easy to keep doing things the way we’ve always done them if they’re still working.  But what if things have changed and our results aren’t as good as they used to be?  Are we open to changing, too?  Can we modify our choices and selections to something which could be better?

Part of the challenge is learning to recognize we have infinite possibilities!

Fear kicks in and blocks our ability to see beyond current circumstances.  Our ego tells us things like, “Well, if I quit or get fired from this job, there won’t be another job for me.”  Or, “If I end this (unhealthy) relationship, nobody else will love me.”  These couldn’t be further from the truth.  There are BILLIONS of jobs, and BILLIONS of people all over the planet!   And there are many more choices than we’re even aware of.

Instead of looking only at our current circumstances, it would be beneficial to examine what we truly desire and then focus on manifesting it.  Whatever is in our heart and head is drawn to us and we create our life’s experiences by what we focus on inside.  They talk about this in The Secret.   If our thoughts say, “there’s nothing there for me,” the Universe says, “OK, there’s nothing there for you.”  But if we believe in abundance and prosperity existing in unlimited proportions for us, the Universe says “OK, there’s abundance and prosperity in unlimited proportions for you.”  We still have to persevere and take action to build this abundance and prosperity, but the Universe WILL support us in the endeavor because we believe we’ll make it happen!

If we feel stuck and can’t see beyond our circumstances, instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” we can ask, “Help me see more clearly the options available to me.”  And then begin to visualize, journal, meditate, and tune in to our intuition and Divine Guidance systems.  Fear might object, but we can object to our fears!  We can over-ride them with clear intentions and the wisdom that there are always other options – even if we can’t see them yet.  And when we do see them, some of those options may be just what we were looking for, needed, or desired for our highest good.

Here’s to infinite possibilities!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

“Ponderisms”

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out"?

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Garden Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it was a valuable plant.

5.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

6.      Kindness Suggestion

JUST BE THERE

A NOTE from the Editor:  Larry’s wife Pam made her soul graduation not too long ago.  As expected the transition has been challenging on both Larry and their children.

Just recently, Larry and Pam’s 11-year old son, Slade, was experiencing overwhelming emotions over the situation.  Many parents in Larry’s situation (needing to drop his son off at school and get to work) may have felt they had no other choice but to drop their child at school and get to work.  Larry, however, chose to just be there.

The following is a letter to Slade’s teacher from his Dad.  I hope you will use it as inspiration and understand the importance of really being there for someone… even if it means occasionally deviating from your original plans.

JUST BE THERE
by Larry Hogan

Hi Ms R,

I just wanted to tell you about Slade.

He was so upset this morning.

He didn't want to go to school.

I drove by the drop-off point  the first time because he truly wasn't ready to get out at the usual time.

We went over to the place where we worship and talked awhile.

He told me how he didn't want to go to school and have "an emotional breakdown", which he explained to be a crying spell about his mom being gone.

He said he missed home school and maybe he could home school with a friend in our neighborhood. So we talked about the fact that changing location might smooth things over some, but the difficult feelings would still be there.

Then he said when someone frustrated his teacher, Ms R, she writes them a note about it and gives it to them. I asked him who could he write a note to. And he said, “there isn't anybody, you can't write a note to the bad cancer that made Momma sick and caused her to die.”

So I told Slade about the "God Can", a can to stick notes in, especially frustrations that you want God to take care of, because God can handle stuff we can't handle. I asked if he would like to write his frustrations and put them in a God Can. Then later we would empty the God Can and burn the notes in a fire in the backyard.

Slade thought that might help, so we went home, took a coffee can and covered it with construction paper. Slade then wrote in big letters, “GOD CAN,” and then the instructions to "Place frustrations on paper and put in can. We will burn frustrations later."

Then we talked about the fact that I needed to go to work. And he had to go to school.

I got Slade checked in by 8:15am; he was very worried about getting a tardy. He needs to know it is okay sometimes to be a little late under special circumstances.

Ms R., Slade really does love his teacher, and I appreciate the example you are setting for the kids every day. It's just a case of his still working through the loss of his mom.

Thanks again for all the hard work you put in.

Have a great day :)

Larry Hogan, Slade's dad

Larry didn’t have to tell us to be there for others.  His loving actions showed us how.  Please folks, when the situations arise, take a cue from Larry and Slade, and just be there.

7.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

E-mail: “KINDNESS

8.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

I have been feeling such a sense of the oneness that this song is speaking about.

Part of one being

If each of us knew beyond the shadow of a doubt
That we were all part of one being,
It would probably be next to impossible
To harm another part of you.
We would have respect for every single one,
Knowing each one has its place,
And every single one of us
Is just playing the part
That we agreed to long ago
And only know in our heart.

9.      The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

(Special thanks to both Wanni S. and Aunt Bette for sharing this link with us!)

Sir Froggie's Positive News Network is proud to present
The SFPNN Positivity Link Award to:

THE APPRECIATION MOVIE

http://www.appreciationmovie.com/

“Everyone has a sign hanging from their necks which says, “ Make me feel wonderful.”
Mary Kay Ash

“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.”
---Margaret Cousins

“There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread.”
---Mother Teresa.

“Appreciation is a free gift that you can give to anyone you encounter – it is completely your choice. And each time you choose to thank someone for a job well done, you are making the world a better place.”

This is a beautiful quote found in a beautiful book titled: The Simple Truths of Appreciation...How each of us can choose to make a difference. It was written by Barbara Glanz. Julie Kellogg, the book’s editor, said it best...“Every boss in the world should read this book!”

I’ll take Julie’s quote one step further...Whether you’re a boss, a spouse, a mom, a dad, or a friend, reading this book can make you a better person. You’ll get great ideas on how you can choose to make a difference each and every day!

I am so pleased to present this inspirational, thought-provoking, 3 minute movie that truly captures the essence of The Simple Truths of Appreciation.

Sit back, turn up the speakers and enjoy! But don’t forget to share it with those you love. You’ll make their day!

-- Mac Anderson, founder of the web site

P.S. Don’t forget to share with your family, friends and co-workers!
