Howdy Folks and Good Day!
With Halloween on Wednesday, All Saints Day on Thursday and All Souls Day
today, the topic has come up about different customs for honoring and observing
the “dead” and how we react to death and dying.
For some, it’s very natural. Yet for many going to a cemetery, visiting Loved Ones who are near their transition, or coping with the feeling of loss after a Loved One’s soul has graduated can be very painful and very, very scary!
I’ve personally had many experiences which have given me an absolute faith and knowing in my heart that our spirit does not cease to exist when our bodies die. These experiences have been beautiful, profound, and peaceful. And I’ve met many others who’ve had similar experiences – that’s a big part of how the Soul Magic series was created – so we could share those miraculous moments of the soul.
Yet our society on a whole still seems to have so much fear around death and even those things leading up to it such as getting old or terminal illnesses.
A large part of this is due to the entertainment industry. Like we discussed earlier in the week, those seeds from TV and the movies get planted in our subconscious beliefs and then affect us without us even knowing. Remember folks, the people who write those scripts are trying to keep you on the edge of your seat so the adrenaline rush will make you want to come back for more. They get paid to scare you!
Aging and death are a natural part of the human experience. We have nothing to fear about them. But our fears are rampant, not only because of the bombardment of messages in the media telling us we have to stay young (to be loved, liked, powerful, happy, wealthy, sexy, satisfied, etc.) but also because we fear the suffering we assume comes with aging and dying.
And death just seems so… final!
For the body it is. But for the spirit, my friends, it’s sweet freedom! Freedom to move, to communicate, to release the past, to live completely in the present moment, to love unconditionally.
From what I understand through the messages I’ve received and from other professional mediums whose purpose is to help people heal, the worst part about “being dead” is not being able to cut through the grief and fear of the ones left here on Earth to let them know they’re still with them, and still sending them love.
Although the movies make cemeteries seem like bad, scary, places, they actually attract souls who want to communicate their love and joy for those on Earth. If the person whose gravesite you are visiting was a loving being while in physical form they’re a loving being in spirit form too! Now if they were scary when they were alive… Doh!
Actually, it’s my understanding that upon their soul graduation and life review, people experience a “re-education” of sorts where they not only learn how their actions affected others but actually experience them from the other person’s point of view. Most people regret any pain they’ve caused and want to do whatever is possible to rectify the situation.
I’m not suggesting we all don flashlights, tape recorders and video cameras to go ghost hunting in grave-yards. But I would like to offer folks a possible alternative for the way we view dying – and aging.
It’s not like all the nasty hype they show in the movies. Our Loved Ones continue to love us after their soul graduates. And in part, they continue to be who they were – and are -- only usually a little more compassionate.
I personally don’t recall ever being dead so I can’t give you exact details, (ha-ha) but I do understand the wisdom I’ve been given about it and hope to share some of that peace and love with you. And to let you know, it really is OK.
So embrace life. Embrace aging. Embrace your soul graduation when it comes. Most of all, embrace your authentic self no matter how old or how young you perceive yourself to be. The soul is eternal. So in the scheme of things, there’s no need to focus on the chronological number. Focus, instead, on how you are living your life.
Coming from a place of love instead of fear will always yield better results and keep positive energy flowing through you. Accepting yourself just as you are and loving yourself for being YOU can work wonders too.
I’m personally proud of my age and each year I’ve gained (or survived – lol). I’ve made it this far and I know I’ve got further to go. I don’t fear it. I don’t try to cover it up or wish it would go away. I simply accept myself and my life. And I embrace the fact that my body will die at some point in time. (Although it’s a good thing I’m not one of my houseplants or my soul graduation would probably be sooner rather than later!)
I also embrace my Loved Ones who have passed. I accept the signs they send me. I know when I’m thinking of them, they’re tugging at my heart saying, “Hey, I’m here with you. Just wanted to say hello and let you know I love you!”
You can too! Our Loved Ones send us signs all the time. We know them when we get them. We see them, we feel them, we hear their words in our ears. Vivid memories flash into our mind. Trust these messages of love and see how those feelings of separation seem to just disappear.
Should that voice of skepticism start to creep in, what’s the worst thing could happen if you embraced the natural course of life? You’d live in love instead of fear. What’s the worst thing that could happen if you trusted honoring and receiving messages from your Loved Ones who have transitioned? Again, you’d live in love instead of fear.
That’s one worst case scenario I can live with! I hope you will, too.
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

SOMETIMES
IT PAYS TO BE OLD
An Elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The
couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old
neighborhood after they retired.
Holding hands they walked back to their old school.
It was not locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they'd
shared, where Andy had carved "I love you, Sally."
On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car,
practically landing at their feet Sally quickly picked it up, but not sure what
to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money--fifty-thousand
dollars.
Andy said, "We've got to give it back."
Sally said, "Finders keepers." She put the money back in the
bag and hid it in their attic.
The next day, two FBI men were canvassing the neighborhood looking for
the money, and knocked on the door.
"Pardon me, but did either of you find a bag that fell out of an
armored car yesterday?" Sally said, "No."
Andy said, "She's lying. She hid it up in the attic."
Sally said, "Don't believe him, he's getting senile."
The agents turn to Andy and began to question him.
One says: "Tell us the story from the beginning."
Andy began, "Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school
yesterday..."
The first FBI guy turns to his partner and says, "We're outta here."

fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs

Kindness Suggestion -- Thanks to Gus W.
ANSWER A CHILD’S PRAYER
A NOTE From the Editor: I can’t tell you if this is actually a true story or just one of those internet legends that makes you smile. Its authenticity is less important than its message. Oh, how the world would be a better place if we could muster the courage within each of us to be a child’s answered prayer!

An eye witness account from
A lady approached the young boy and said, "My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!"
"I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes," was the boy's reply.
The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.
She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.
By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes.
She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, "No doubt, you will be more comfortable now."
As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her… "Are you God's wife?"

TAKE THE
SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!
Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world. We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes. Therefore, we have two challenges for you.
Kindness Challenge # 1: Do something kind today and every day. It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference. Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact. Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place. And feel free to tell us about your kind act!
E-mail: “KINDNESS”
Kindness Challenge # 2: Share something kind someone has done for you! People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis. But we often overlook their kindness. Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them. Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.
E-mail: “KINDNESS”

Moments of Joy — From
This song was inspired by listening to the tape recordings of “Conversations with God” by Neale Donald Walsch, read by the author along with Ed Asner and Ellen Bursten.
My own
creation
As I live in an illusion of my own
creation,
What am I choosing right now?
This very moment that’s here right now
Can be filled with anything I want.
I am the author of the life I choose to live;
I can have it anyway I want.
So what do I choose to give to the world
This very moment right now?
I choose a life of joy and happiness.
Creating the experience is how.
Then this one came…
i create my
I create my life each and every moment,
And so do you.
I decide what’s next for me,
What I want to do.
And I decide what it all means,
That is strictly up to me,
But what’s really the very most fun
Is opening to possibility,
Trusting that I will only do
What’s best for you and me.

Since we are so Internationally
connected in this day in age and time I thought you would find today’s web site
both helpful and interesting. I was
amazed at all the different countries that observe Daylight Saving Time and
also some of the different reasons they have adopted the practice. For example, in 1967,
Just as sunflowers turn their heads to
catch every sunbeam, so too have we discovered a simple way to get more from
our sun. Daylight Saving Time gives us
the opportunity to enjoy sunny summer evenings by moving our clocks an hour
forward in the spring.
Yet, the implementation of Daylight
Saving Time has been fraught with controversy since Benjamin Franklin first
conceived of the idea. Even today, regions and countries routinely change their
approaches to Daylight Saving Time.
Here, you can learn about the history
of daylight saving (or as some may say, daylight shifting), the standardization
of time, and when regions around the globe spring ahead and fall back.
I found all the other links along the left hand side of this page interesting but especially the “Incidents & Anecdotes”.
