Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Just a heads up that I won’t be answering e-mail from now until after November 19th, 2007.  (This includes any subscription issues or technical difficulties.)

Mark and I are going to the Celebrate Your Life conference in Scottsdale!  It’s filled with authors and speakers who explore life in all its glory, and research its mysteries, unlock its power to heal, and basically do a really good job at empowering people to be their best.

As much as I enjoy this conference, and it certainly gives me food for thought, I’d like each of you to know without a doubt that YOUR LIFE IS WORTH CELEBRATING!  And you don’t have to go to a conference to do it.

Have you ever noticed how human beings think nothing of working our lives away but when it comes to celebrating our lives we often find ourselves a bit hesitant – or even feeling guilty?  We might even think everything else is more important.

Folks, please… don’t hesitate.  Celebrate YOUR LIFE today and every day!

Find little ways to give thanks, to be joyful and cheerful for who you are and this miraculous thing we call life!  Let yourself truly enjoy it!

Your life is worthy of celebration.  Do it now while you’re here to rejoice and give thanks for being YOU.  There’s only ONE YOU on this entire planet.  That’s pretty cool… and definitely worth celebrating!

Here’s to YOU…

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

WITH AGE COMES WISDOM

A guy is 81 years old and loves to fish. He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say, "Pick me up."

He looked around and couldn't see any one. He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say again, "Pick me up." He looked in the water and there, floating on the top of a log, was a frog.

The man said, "Are you talking to me?"

The frog said, "Yes, I'm talking to you. Pick me up. Then, kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. I'll then give you more sexual pleasure than you could ever dream of."

The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his front breast pocket.

Then the frog said, "What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said? I said kiss me and I will give you sexual pleasures like you have never had."

He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said, "Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog."

6.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

SPEAK THROUGH THE HEART

Recently I met up with a friend I hadn’t seen in almost a year.  Karen is an extraordinary woman with a remarkable daughter named Lorrin.  But most people don’t take the opportunity to get to know Miss Lorrin because she is wheelchair bound.  A severe reaction to immunizations left Lorrin physically disabled and unable to speak the way we’re accustomed to.   Often, folks just don’t know how to react.

Karen decided to take Lorrin to the mall to do some window shopping.  Lorrin was very excited.  Her eyes widened at all of the metallic gold purses and especially at a gold tone pair of leggings.  She enjoyed being around people even though most folks didn’t bother to stop or say hello to her.  But one gentleman did.

He smiled at Lorrin and took a few moments in silence just looking at her.  Karen told the man Lorrin couldn’t speak but that she communicated through her facial expressions.  The man turned to Karen and without missing a beat said, “She told me she speaks through her heart.”

What a lovely and perceptive human being that man was!  Perhaps he was even an angel in disguise.  How often do we allow ourselves to speak from and through our hearts?  How often do we hear the messages others send through their heart… even when words are not being spoken?

Our world would be a completely different place if we all learned to speak from our heart like Miss Lorrin and that beautiful man who took the time to experience who she really is.

So often we judge others for all the surface stuff and forget to listen to their heart.  We forget to hear the messages of love and the messages of needing to be loved.   What would happen if we would simply tune into one another’s hearts when being introduced instead of shaking hands and asking, “how are you?”  Maybe we’d learn how – and who – we are without ever saying a word.

The heart is powerful and transformative.  Its energy can reach great distances and truly lighten the dark places of our world.

Let’s challenge ourselves and one another to speak through the heart more often… And to listen.

8.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

E-mail: “KINDNESS

9.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

Singing has always been enjoyable to me and this song came to articulate some of the reasons.

singing

Singing, to me, is a means
Of penetrating straight to the heart.
The melody is what makes the message
Bypass entirely the mind.
The message sort of sneaks in around the edges
Of a person’s safety shield
When it is couched in a pretty song,
It just seeps right on in.
And before you know it, you will find
You’ll catch yourself singing along.
