Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Yesterday I ended the greeting with, “And hopefully we all live happily ever after…”   I have to admit, happy endings are one belief system I’ve embraced from TV, movies and books.  And even though I’ve been accused of looking at the world through rose colored glasses or having an “unrealistic” view of the world, I wouldn’t trade my positive expectations for anything!

Why?

Because we often get what we expect!

My positive view of the world may seem unrealistic to a pessimist because their negative belief system creates an entirely different reality for them.  And I’m happy to say their “world gone bad” view seems unrealistic to me because my beliefs create a much more positive reality for me.

Does being positive mean I don’t recognize the challenges we face in the world?  Not at all!

If you’ve read SFPNN this past week, you know I’m well aware of dire global circumstances.  But I’m also well aware of the humanitarian efforts going on to help those in need.  I’m aware of the kindness, compassion, courage, strength, and persistence of good people trying to make a difference.  And I’m doing what I can to help in ways which I’m able.

One of the ways I help is to hold a positive vision for the best possible outcome.  Thoughts ARE things and each thought we have emits an energy which takes form in the world around us.  By having positive thoughts and making a conscious effort to visualize the best possible outcome, I lend energy to create a reality of the highest possible good.

Is that being Pollyanna-ish, naďve, or unrealistic?   Not at all!  It’s actually harnessing scientific data in the most effective manner in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional realms.  Besides, it sure beats sitting around whining about stuff!

So come on and join me in believing in happy endings!  And why not believe in happy beginnings and middles, too?  It IS in all our best interest!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

Pilot vs. Priest...

A priest dies and is waiting in line at the Pearly Gates. Ahead of him is a guy who's dressed in sunglasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket and jeans. Saint Peter addresses this cool guy, "Who are you, so that I may know whether or not to admit you to the Kingdom of Heaven?"

The guy replies, "I'm Peter Pilot, retired Southwest Airlines Pilot from Dallas."

Saint Peter consults his list. He smiles and says to the pilot, "Take this silken robe and golden staff and enter the Kingdom." The pilot goes into Heaven with his robe and staff.

Next it's the priest's turn. He stands erect and booms out, "I am Father Joe, pastor of Saint Mary's in Pasadena for the last 43 years."

Saint Peter consults his list. He says to the priest, "Take this cotton robe and wooden staff and enter the Kingdom.”

"Just a minute," says the good father, "that man was a pilot and he gets a silken robe and golden staff, and I get only cotton and wood? How can this be?"

"Up here we go by results," says Saint Peter, "when you preached people slept; when he flew people prayed!”

5.      For A Good Laugh, Check Out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

6.      Kindness Suggestion – Thanks to Billy Gentry

GO NOW IN PEACE

I visited a church and the following Benediction song was sung at the end. What a great way to end a sermon every Sunday.   I just like the words, it tells a lot.

GO NOW IN PEACE

Go now in Peace, Never be afraid.
God will go with you each hour of every day.

Go now in Faith, steadfast, strong, and true;
Know that He will Guide you in all you do.

Go now in Love, and show you believe;
Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there, watching from above;
Go now in peace, in Faith, and in Love.

Amen

7.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

8.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

Recently when I noticed myself getting all caught up in the world and feeling hectic, this song came to me.

what do you choose now

What do you choose now,
Out of infinite possibility?
You can have it any way.
What do you choose now?
Take a moment out of your day
To spend some time with you,
And ask yourself right this moment,
”What do I choose now?”

Lead the life that will make you kindly and friendly to everyone about you, and you will be surprised what a happy life you will lead.
---Charles M. Schwab

When I was born I was so surprised I didn't talk for a year and a half.
--- Gracie Allen

For [a product] to surprise me, it must be satisfying expectations I didn't know I had.
---Paul Graham

Today’s web site is a continual surprise; in fact the surprise keeps coming every day.  They describe themselves as “an online store and community that focuses on selling cool stuff cheap.”  Everyday at 12am, CST they put a new product up for sale and it is available until they sell out of the item or 12am the next day when they list a new item.

For some wonderful laughter, after you check out today’s item, be sure and click on WHAT IS WOOT on the upper right and corner of the site.  You will learn everything you might ever want to know about the web site and chuckle and laugh all the while, they have a great sense of humor.

You can also check out “THE COMMUNITY” page to see some of the past items they have sold.  You can’t buy them but it will give you a small idea of the extent of the variety of things the will have in the future and “THE BLOG” will give you a longer description of those past items.  They do have a limit of three that you can purchase any day but if you buy 1, 2 or 3, you pay the same small shipping fee of $5.00.

I hope you have fun and find some bargains on things you have wanted to get.  I know looking back at some of their past items I found one that I had purchased recently.  Wish I had found this site sooner.

Let There Be Peace On Earth and Let It Begin With Me...
