Howdy Folks and Good Day!
Welcome to 2008! I hope the year is
getting off to a GREAT start for you!
A lot of folks I’ve talked to have commented how the beginning of 2008 was rather rough and shook them up a bit. I believe this is because God gives us earthquakes on occasion to shake loose the weak foundations so we can build on the new, stronger ones. And sometimes the quakes are just showing us our “stretch marks” or the areas where we’ve outgrown something. These quakes often happen around significant dates in our lives… such as the new year, birthdays, and even anniversaries.
Rest assured things do get better! The earthquakes just show us where our strengths and weaknesses are. J And they get rid of all the old gunk so we can start anew.
While taking down the Christmas and Hannukah decorations, how many of you get the urge to start cleaning out the rest of your home – and your lives?
I sure do! I notice the clothes I’ve outgrown and all the stuff I’ve accumulated through the years which I no longer connect with. I notice the areas in my home which need rearranging – including the furniture, closets, and basic décor. With the Christmas stuff gone, and a new year ahead of me, I find myself asking, “What do I want now?” My bare walls are like a blank canvas just waiting for me to fill in. (Especially after those mini earthquakes shook the rest of the stuff off the walls!)
Any time of the year is appropriate to ask ourselves, “What do I want?” …whether it’s on our walls, in our closets, our homes, our health, relationships, education, career, or lives in general. But the beginning of the year is an extra powerful time, indeed. Our energy and focus get renewed. We often have things to restructure simply because the old year is done and a new one is ahead of us. And there’s a strong forward momentum as the rest of the world sets its intention for the year ahead.
Take some time to ask yourself, “What do I want in my life? What would I like to experience in the year ahead?”
Write it all down. You might want to categorize it according to the major concerns in your life such as health, family, finances, career, spirituality, recreation, etc. Then pick a few of the key areas. Write down what it would take for you to actually experience what you desire. Give yourself permission to begin making it happen.
There are a lot of resources available to you through books,
the internet, professional coaches, support groups, and even within SFPNN to
help get your started and keep you going.
If you haven’t yet, you might want to check out
Or visit our A-Muse-Ing Inspirations page on the SFPNN website. There’s a complimentary do-it-yourself lesson plan which utilizes doing The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron and working with your own customized Master Plan to make your dreams and goals really happen.
I also encourage you to explore the additional resources all of our authors have to offer between their SFPNN Featured Author pages and their own personal / professional websites. We want to make life better all around and we’ve dedicated our lives to creating a more positive world. The research and resources we provide are there to help you. Many of them are complimentary and the ones which require a fee are very reasonable.
One resource you don’t have to look far for is the daily affirmation in SFPNN. I encourage you to write down your intention each day. Consider keeping a notebook of daily affirmations and intentions. (I still refer back to my old affirmation notebooks when I need a pick me up or to change my focus to a more positive one!) Or write down your intention for the day in your day planner. For those of you who utilize electronic devices, put your intention in your PDA, Outlook or anywhere else you’ll see it. You may be surprised at what a difference it makes! Please note: This is not your to-do list! J
Speaking of intentions, some of my personal goals for 2008 are being more effective and efficient, increasing SFPNN’s circulation, and making SFPNN your positive e-zine of choice.
I began SFPNN nearly ten years ago because there was a lack of positive resources in the media. Now, at least through the internet, there are positive resources everywhere! In fact, there are so many positive e-zines a lot of folks, myself included, are cutting back on their subscriptions. Time is precious and we need to discern what’s worth our time, effort and energy as well as what no longer serves us. It is my hope that if you had to choose just one e-zine or e-mail subscription it would be Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network. We try hard to provide the positive insights, wisdom, suggestions and anecdotes that will make you feel good about your Self and live the best life possible.
I also hope you like SFPNN enough to share it with your friends, family, coworkers and others you feel may benefit from it. By sharing SFPNN, you’ll help us increase its circulation (without the expense of advertising) and create more positivity in the world. And you just may help someone with the very thing they needed that day! So if you get the urge to share an issue with others, please follow through. A very heart-felt thank you in advance for doing so.
Finally, as part of being more effective and efficient in my life, I’ve been looking for ways to cover the expense of keeping SFPNN running as a complimentary e-zine so that it is available to everyone. While I am really resisting any kind of advertising, I do need to include mention of my Angel Therapy® and healing practices. Folks, I can honestly say the work I do with you in the healing realm is serving my life purpose and the benefits you receive are truly divinely guided. I would really love to work with you one on one!
Under the suggestion of many of my existing clients, and due to the rising cost of living (both personally and for SFPNN) I’ve had to raise the rates for Angel Therapy®, Reiki and Theta Healing in 2008. As of January 01st, a one hour session will cost $150. You’ll still receive a full hour of service, plus the e-mail recap (for Angel Therapy® and Theta Healing) and the complimentary angel cards with your angel reading. I will continue to be available to you via e-mail after your session to answer any questions you may have about your experience.
To show my appreciation for existing clients and for all our
SFPNNers, I am offering you a special rate of $125 per one hour session through
Whew! That was a lot to cover in today’s greeting!
No matter who you are or where you are in your life, I truly hope you’ll take the time to get clear on what you’d like to experience in 2008. My friend, you deserve to live the life you desire. Whether your intention is to live life full-out, just enjoy its simple pleasures, or anywhere in between, I wish you a truly blessed year filled with Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…
Respectfully and with Gratitude,
Rev. Jeanette

Our Priorities: Doing What Matters
Most
Has this ever
happened to you? You're working on a project and you start to think about
another project or task you have on your list. You begin to question if the one
you're working on is the right one and your focus and energy moves away from
the task at hand.
Not much fun is
it? Without good clarity we can't operate at our best. Without confidence in
our plans, we cannot achieve our goals.
We live in a
complex world. Time was when our choices were easier because they were simply
more limited. Today, with so many things to choose from, it's easy to get
overwhelmed.
All too often, we
avoid making important choices because we don't want to make a mistake.
Sometimes we choose what's convenient and then second-guess our decision. When
we do this we lose valuable time and energy because we're conflicted.
Unless you're a
circus performer, it's pretty hard to ride more than one horse at the same
time.
A good coach,
consultant or therapist can be invaluable in helping us to gain greater clarity
and be confident we're investing our time and energy in the best way.
As we discover
our core values, we're better able to make important choices. As we get clearer
on what we want--and why we want it--we can be more effective and gain greater fulfillment.
But I've found
very few people willing to invest the time thinking and meditating upon these
things. Only a small percentage of the people I've encountered really know what
they want. And most of THESE people still aren't sure what they should be doing
to get there.
Having so many
choices can sometimes work against us.
But when we ask
the right questions, objectively rank the values and examine the tradeoffs, we
gain clarity and position ourselves for greater results.
How do you set
and maintain your priorities? Do you know your most important goals? How do you
sort out the projects that will provide the greatest payoff? Do you consider
them carefully or do you just "shoot from the hip"?
I'm all for using
our intuition and following our gut, but we also need to bring our left brain
into the equation.
It doesn't matter
so much what system we use as long as we use one. Because not having this
clarity--not handling first things first--can cost us dearly.
Clarity leads to
power. More clarity equals more power. Better focus equals better results.
Resources
If you're looking for some tools to do this better, we've
developed a simple yet powerful system for ranking goals, projects, obstacles
and even purchases. It's called Priorities?
(of course) and we've found it extremely helpful in
making good decisions.

GIVE
YOURSELF A
Are you living the life of your dreams or at least experiencing the life you desire? Do you feel centered and balanced? Are your relationships, health, spirituality, finances, and career where you want them to be?
Give yourself a Life Lift!
Whether you answered yes or no to the above questions, it’s good to step back occasionally and figure out what’s working and what isn’t. Even when all systems are go, there’s usually room for enhancement. Who couldn’t use a little power lift once in a while?
Most often we start out on the right track but get derailed when life crashes into us like a bad diet with unexpected surprises. Sometimes we simply gather up the pieces and get going in the right direction again. Other times, we get so focused on recovery we lose sight of where we were going in the first place.
Like anything worthwhile, living a positive life begins with a good examination. Are we in tip-top shape? Is our current regimen supporting our goals, dreams, desires, and health? Does anything need our immediate attention? Do we have a strong core to carry us? Are we able to shoulder things with grace and ease? Do our current activities and beliefs give us a leg up? How do we face each day?
If life is weighing too heavily upon us, we need to target the problem areas. Can they be improved by exercising better choices or strengthening our resolve and commitment to make them work? Or is it time for a little life-o-suction to zap those trouble-makers right out?
We’ve all heard the expression “life sucks” but it may do so more literally than you think! Stressful thoughts and emotions literally drain our life force, energy, immune system, creativity, joy, and empathy. Instead of putting our personal resources into something that isn’t working and shows no hope for improvement, it’s often better to cut the cords and move on!
Where is it we want to go? What do we want to feel like? What experiences do we wish to create in our lives? How can we bring them into our day to day routine and manifest our heart’s desires?
As crucial as it is to remove the “bad stuff”, our well-being depends on the good things we bring in! We need to nourish our lives with that which is healthy for us, sustains us, fills us with energy, and helps us function in a state of grace and joy. These things often vary from individual to individual so it’s important for each one of us to get clear on what they are. What do we need to live our best life? What lifts our spirit and creates a sense of heaven on earth? Are we on target with our life’s purpose?
It’s time to get thinking, get clear, get planning, get moving…
And give yourself a Life Lift!
