Howdy Folks and Good Day!

As we continue into the new year I’ll be pointing out some of SFPNN’s features that you may have either forgotten about or didn’t know were there.

This morning I’d like to encourage everyone to do something that could literally save someone’s life!  It won’t cost you a dime and it takes less than a minute with the click of your mouse.

Toward the bottom of every issue of SFPNN  (except the Special Editions) there are links to The Hunger Site, The Animal Rescue Site, The Child Site, The Breast Cancer Site, The Literacy Site and The Rain Forest Site.   Follow the links and then click the button on their site and their sponsors (the folks who pay to advertise there) donate money on your behalf for food, vaccines, mammograms, books, and land purchases.  Literally, the only thing it will cost you is about a minute of your time – and that’s if you visit all of the sites!   (If you have dial up internet service and a very slow modem, it may take up to two minutes.)

Every time you finish reading an issue of SFPNN, please use one of the links to access the charitable site you favor most.  When you visit one of them, you can access all the others.  We all say we want to make a positive difference in the world.  It doesn’t get much easier than this!

Folks, I feel so passionate about the difference we can make this way, I am encouraging you to use the links even if you don’t have time to read anything else in SFPNN!  It matters that much.

Here’s to each and every one of us making a positive difference and doing something to truly honor life.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

2.      What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

4.      Have YOU Experienced Soul Magic?

Miracles happen every day in every way.  Those amazing things, big and small, which touch our heart and soul can seem absolutely magical.  They often leave us with a profound feeling which goes beyond anything we can explain with logic.  Sometimes they change us for just a brief moment, filling us to overflowing with awe and wonder, gratitude, a sense of connection to something bigger, or even renewed faith.  Other times they are literally life changing.

As the editor of SFPNN, I personally invite you to share your Soul Magic experiences with us.

You don't have to be a professional writer, just talk into the page and tell us your story!   E-mail:  SOUL MAGIC

GLORIOUS FALL ROAD TRIP
By Patty

Dave and I started out on a “Fall Road Trip” the last week of October 2007.  He had business in North Carolina on a Saturday, so we decided to take a long weekend and explore the beautiful fall colors of the Great Smokey Mountain area, hoping we were not too late to see nature’s splendid show.

We were not disappointed!  We flew into Atlanta and rented a car.  I had researched possible road trips that would take us through a wide variety of valleys, mountains and fields of color and settled on the Southern Highroads Trail. The Southern Highroads Trail is a 364-mile National Scenic Byway that travels through 4 states (Georgia, North and South Carolina and Tennessee) of the southern Blue Ridge Mountain highlands.  The brochure I printed out was a wonderful guide as it pointed out places to pull off the road to see out of the way and unknown points of interest.

The trail can be accessed at many points, and we were closest to Elijay, Georgia, so we entered there.  At one point we pulled off at a place called Dick’s Gap which is a crossing of the Appalachian Trail near the county line of Rabun, Georgia.  We stretched our legs and tried to catch falling leaves “for good luck.” As we left Georgia heading into South Carolina, the color display seemed more vibrant. I couldn’t stop taking pictures.

As we crossed into North Carolina, the colors (if possible) seemed even richer and more brilliant than earlier.  We reached Waynesville, NC, on Saturday night after an unbelievable sightseeing adventure, we stayed in a local Bed and Breakfast.  We talked with the locals who recommended we try the Blue Ridge Parkway through the Smokey Mountains to see even more amazing displays of fall color.  Again we were treated to spectacular views and indescribable color as far as the eye could see that stretched over valleys and mountains.

We stopped at the Waterrock Knob Trail and hiked a steep path upwards, over rocky terrain that led to a spectacular view of the Smokey Mountains atop the summit at 6300 ft.  This was not a hike for the faint of heart!

As we drove back to Atlanta ending our glorious “Fall Road Trip” we vowed to return and allow ourselves more time to explore and again be treated to the area’s abundant beauty.   It was an amazing and unforgettable adventure that we will never forget.

7.      “An abundance mentality flows out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security.  It stems from the paradigm that there’s plenty out there…and enough for everybody.  It opens possibilities, options, alternatives, and creativity.”

8.      Tuesday Trivia

A NOTE From the Editor:  This year’s Tuesday Trivia is going to begin focusing on things about the human body.  While we may know every bump on the back of our hand, we often don’t know much about how we work internally except that if you put in one glass of alcohol or Starbucks, three have to come out just when you’re stuck in traffic on the freeway!   8->  Doh!

I hope you’ll enjoy learning as we go and that you’ll be able to use the information for you benefit!

9.      God Given Daisies       — by Carole Devecka

I Profess

Many people start the new year off with promising themselves that they would live out, and stick to, their new year resolutions. Some fail the first few days or week, and give up. I believe that God gives us a new day, every day, to begin again, fresh and new.

If you failed yesterday, it is over. Start again, right here and now.

This year I profess, to declare, acknowledge and appreciate all gifts given to me by God.

Every little thing!

From the sun shinning through the darkest of clouds, to the car starting immediately on the coldest of days.

I started reading Daily Guidepost 2008 (Large Print Edition). Thank you God, that they accommodate our aging eyes.  To quote them:

Life is full of surprises and to keep that sense of wonder alive and lively, we've made ‘Surprised by God’ our theme this year in Daily Guidepost 2008.

Sixty three writers will explore some of the countless ways in which God is with us every day, sometimes surprising us with the unmistakable touch of His hand to comfort, heal and encourage.

At the end of each month there is a list for the reader to fill out, called "My Devine Surprises."  They encourage each person to "Be open to the possibilities of God's surprises."

In the last few weeks I have seen the hand of God in some seemingly impossible situations. But God, was and is, there in every situation.

When I was doing teen counseling, I would ask them if they would act the same, or would they be afraid if God was in the room? Of course they would answer "No! There wouldn't be any reason to feel afraid if God Almighty was here.”

My answer to that comment would be “Well guys He's here! He is always with you! He will never leave you, and He believes in you and that you can overcome anything with His help, cause with God ‘All things are possible.’”

My New Year's resolution is to profess, declare, acknowledge, and appreciate all of God's gifts… The people He sends my way, the daily blessings He showers upon me, and the opportunity to share Him with you.

Have a Blessed New Year filled with God's Glory, Love, and Surprises.
