Howdy Folks and Good Day!

I am just thrilled to announce Lisa Vaden’s return to SFPNN today!   Many of our long-time readers will remember Lisa from her columns “Life’s Little Lessons” and her “Thought for the Day.”  After taking some time to explore other areas of life, Lisa returns to SFPNN with her current column, “My Song.”   Welcome back, Lisa!

* * *

I promised to share more of SFPNN’s helpful features with you.  Today’s feature is found only on the SFPNN website.  There are no links to it in our daily issues but you will find a button for it when you go to www.sfpnn.com .

It’s listed as: SFPNN Workshop 101.

That’s because it’s our very first on-line workshop.  And it’s all about taking care of yourself in ways which will create a happier, healthier, more positive life.

Over the years I have literally spent thousands of dollars researching good health and well-being.  And I’ve spend just as many hours reading, journaling, attending workshops and lectures, listening to CDs and watching videos on how to live a positive life.  With all that knowledge, a little divine guidance and lots of inspiration, I put together a basic workshop to help you figure out which areas of your life are working and where some improvement would be beneficial.  And lucky for you, it’s available as a complimentary gift to our website’s visitors!

The workshop is divided into the following categories:

       Getting enough sleep

Eating a healthy diet that works with the body instead of against it

       Drinking enough water

Taking downtime to clear our mind, heart, and energy

Taking time to play and enjoy life

       Engaging in healthy relationships

Distancing ourselves from toxic people, places, things and circumstances

       Thinking healthy positive thoughts

Exercising the body in a way that’s nurturing for it

Connecting with God or a Higher Power

       Loving our Self

Providing a positive and nurturing home space

Providing a positive and nurturing work place

Following the promptings of the soul and our dreams

Each category will ask you specific questions to help you examine your life with the focus on creating positive, healthy energy.   The workshop won’t tell you what you MUST do because every body is different.  Rather, it will ask you to tune into your body, mind, emotions and life to determine what’s helping or hindering you.  It will also give basic suggestions on optimizing your well-being and positive life style.

Again, this is a complimentary workshop.  The only cost is your time and willingness to invest in your Self to figure out what works for you!

If you’re determined to make 2008 a year of better health, happiness, and blessings, I highly recommend doing the SFPNN Workshop: Taking Care of Myself 101.

You may wish to add the following link to your “Favorites” for easy access:

Here’s to a wonderful year ahead, and all the blessings of a positive life!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

1.      What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

2.      My Song  — by Lisa Vaden

PLEASURE

Some days have just got to be about pleasure.

Ok I’ll admit it, I have got this princess personality that just isn’t satisfied unless there is some kind of indulgence going on when I need to recharge my battery.  I am all about the pampering.  I swear if there is such a thing as past lives, last go around I was a real life princess and it is still deeply embedded in my soul!

But here is the thing; I treat myself like a princess so I am not waiting around for someone else to give me something that I am not already providing for myself.

That is really important: take care of yourself by heeding and fulfilling your physical, mental, and spiritual needs.  You will have more of yourself to share with others.  Plus if they do treat you like royalty too, well hip, hip, hooray – it turns into a grand ball!

Indulgence doesn’t have to cost a lot of money either.  (But sometimes it can and that is fun too!) I’ve got what I call my “fat and happy days” or my “Buddha belly days.”  These are days that I just chill out and read or lay around watching movies.  On those days I eat things that I really enjoy eating -- and I really enjoy eating them too.  The goal for the day is all about satisfaction, enjoyment, relaxing and the biggie ~ pleasure.

Soaking in a tub brings me pleasure.  Going for a walk brings me pleasure.  Hanging with a friend brings me pleasure.  Driving my car with the top down brings me pleasure.  I just love that word…pleasure.  Just saying it brings me pleasure.

Pleasure is just as important to the quality of your life as is anything else you deem important.  We sometimes forget to relax and really enjoy some of our days just for the sake of enjoying ourselves.

Even if you are going through a tough time, you can check out for the day and focus on doing things that bring you pleasure.  I’ve done it many a times myself.  Your problems will be there tomorrow.  But interesting enough, many times they aren’t problems anymore because you are refreshed and you have new ideas about how to work through them.

My friend, pleasure is important.  The next time your inner royalty needs a little loving, find your pleasure and indulge yourself.

With love,
Lisa

NRDC WINS VICTORY FOR WHALES!

Fantastic news!

A federal court in California has just imposed the strongest-ever protections for whales against an onslaught of military sonar.

The new controls are the result of an NRDC lawsuit that demanded the Navy rein in its deadly sonar before beginning two years of maneuvers near the Channel Islands -- one of the world's most sensitive environments and home to five endangered species of whales.

The Navy itself estimates that the booming sonar would harass or harm marine mammals some 170,000 times -- and cause permanent injury in more than 400 cases.

U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper said the Navy's existing plan for protecting marine mammals was "grossly inadequate." And she has ordered the Navy to put a series of precautionary measures in place -- many of them recommended by NRDC -- that will go a long way toward protecting whales from needless injury and death.

For starters, the Navy will not be permitted to use its dangerous mid-frequency sonar within 12 miles of the California coast, a zone that is heavily used by migrating whales and dolphins. Sonar will also be banned in the Catalina Basin, an underwater canyon with a high density of whales.

The Navy will also have to monitor for marine mammals – from the ship and from the air -- both before and during its sonar exercises. If any marine mammals are spotted within 2200 yards of the ship, the Navy will have to shut down its sonar.

These safeguards represent a giant leap forward in NRDC’s decade-long campaign to make sure that whales don't have to die for the sake of military practice.

Needless to say, this fight is far from over and many more court battles lay ahead. But case by case, we are accomplishing what many thought impossible: forcing the Navy to obey our environmental laws and stop its needless killing of whales -- and all without compromising military readiness.

Frances Beinecke, President, NRDC

NEW YEAR’S SPECIAL FOR SFPNNers from Jeanette

If you’ve ever considered getting an Angel Reading, Theta Healing, or Reiki, now is the time!  J

My rates for 2008 have increased but if you book a session now through February 13th, 2008, and I’ll give you a $25 discount. That’s a Special SFPNN rate of $125 for a one hour session dedicated to your well being which includes an e-mail recap for Angel Readings and Theta Healing and a complimentary set of Angel Cards with all Angel Readings.

Folks, when I work with you, I give you my full attention and channel God’s and the angels’ love and energy for your guidance and healing.  The results are always positive.  Here’s what some of my clients have said:

”I read slowly and carefully of your email. Going over all of the details and it is absolutely amazing the correlations between all of the stuff that has been happening in my life…”

“You are truly exceptional and very special - and I have been to A LOT of psychics.    I'd have to say sadly I've left 90% of them feeling that it was a total waste of money.  You were definitely someone I would highly recommend and felt it was probably the best money I had spent in a long time!   I loved your method, gentleness and message delivery... What an absolute pleasure and just so refreshing in the way it was handled.  I then came home to an in depth, typed out word for word rundown of the reading.  None would have taken the time to do that - ever!   Amazing to have and to read back over when needed.”

“You truly are a Godsend! There are many things that empathically I pick up from you.  I truly feel blessed to have learned from you today.  My heart, my feelings, (my angels?) tell me to tell you to keep doing what you are doing for it is a mighty, and beautiful call.”

I share the above comments with you because I’m the type of person who needs “proof” to believe in the unseen.   There are many more comments like the ones above – all of which were sent WITHOUT solicitation but in gratitude.  Good things happen when we allow the divine to move through our lives and that’s what I love helping folks do!

7.      Wednesday WORD — by Diane, The California Dreamer

VISION BOARD

"Life is short and you don't want to be an old guy counting his last heart beats thinking about all the things you wanted to do that you didn't do because you were scared. What's there to be scared of in life?  In the end - - it all ends the same."    — Francis Ford Coppola

Happy New Year!!

The above quote from a recent interview with the Director Francis Ford Coppola really impressed me… So much that I had to replay it to get it exactly as he said it.  I let it sink into my soul.  I thought what a great theme to have for 2008.

How would I live this next year if I put aside my fears and just jumped feet first into doing all those things that I put off because I was scared?

Those of you who know me personally may think I am a spontaneous kind of gal and usually do exactly what I want — often without thinking out the details.  You're thinking, “Scared? What is she talking about? I didn't see a lot of fear when she packed up the only life she ever knew and moved across the country.”

The truth be known, I usually try to hide my fear.  I show my confident side to the world when many times I am driving myself crazy inside asking myself, “should I? Or shouldn't I?”

When I allow that fear to get the best of me and don't take the chance or jump into something I have wanted to do or experience, the one who suffers is me.  When I follow my heart and soul -- putting aside my fears -- I have the best time or learn something new to enrich my life.

As I enter into 2008, I have decided to live each day to the fullest. I am going to put fear aside and follow my heart more.

This is going to be a milestone year for me.  This August I turn 50.  I have made a vision board with many things I want to do and accomplish in the next year.  Some things are as simple as having birthday cup cakes with edible flowers or having a cup of cappuccino so good I don't want it to end or flying a kite at the beach. There are pictures of a hot air balloon ride and an Amtrak train cruising along the coast to San Diego.

There are reminders to take blissful breaks, expand my consciousness, and achieve balance… To let my inspiration become my reality.  TREAT myself to good things.  Be open to new possibilities and savor the moments.

Some of these things are going to take work on my part.  I am going to have to let go of old beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve me.  I am going to have to do some “emotion work” to accomplish these things.

I had a blast making up this vision board.  I was amazed how when I put forth the intention to make this board, the photos, sayings and ideas came to me almost by magic.

There are things I might have been scared to try in the past or never would have thought to do.  There are even several that I have already done.  I didn't realize I was doing something on my vision board until a while after I had done it!

What is your heart and soul calling you to do that your head keeps saying you can't or fear has gotten in the way?

You know what I am talking about. You have dreams and desires tucked inside that you are afraid to act on.

Take some time to make a vision board.  Go through some magazines and cut out pictures of places and things that call to your heart.  Let the kid inside of you come out and paste them onto some poster board.  You'll be amazed at what is calling to you.

My wish for everyone in 2008 is that we don’t become the person who, when taking our last breath or counting our final heartbeats, is thinking about all the things we didn't do because we were scared.

Let's all make 2008 our best year yet.  All it takes is a desire to put aside our fears and a bit of imagination.
