Howdy Folks and Good Day!

When you wake up in the morning how do you feel?

Do you remember your dreams?  Were they uplifting or did they leave you feeling exhausted?

Often our dreams are symbolic of what’s going on in our lives so if we’re busy to the point of exhaustion or running ourselves ragged during the day, our dreams will surely keep us moving through the night. The result?  We can awaken and find ourselves even more tired than when we went to bed!

If you can remember your dreams, it’s a good idea to write them down and ask what they’re trying to tell you or reflect back to you.  Frequently, just by writing our dreams down we’ll get great insights.  Acknowledging the messages often releases our conscience to a more relaxed state.  If you need help on interpreting your dreams, there’s a wonderful book called The Secret Language of Signs – by Denise Linn.

If you don’t remember your dreams, don’t sweat it.  Let’s get back to our original question…

How do you feel when you wake up in the morning?

If you answer is anything less that GREAT, what do you do to pick yourself up, lift your spirits, and get yourself feeling fabulous?

Life is meant to be enjoyed!  And there are so many little things we can do for ourselves to create a positively delightful life.

*** suggestions for morning pick-me-ups ***

* Put on some wonderful feel-good music.

Hyper, mellow, rock-n-roll, Broadway, gospel, hip-hop, opera, punk, old, new…it doesn’t matter.  What does matter is that you create a positive energy in you, around you and through you.

* Sing!

Whether you sing to the stereo, sing your favorite religious songs, or make up your own little tunes as you go, let your Spirit express itself through song. Singing bonus: it’s an aerobic activity!

* Drink some water!

Water renews the body, mind and spirit.  Think of it as the “Miracle drug” if you need to.  It’s good for your skin, organs, blood cells, energy levels, and more.  It re-hydrates and rejuvenates.  And it’s cheap, too!

* Eat a healthy breakfast which includes protein and raw fruit.

Make sure you get some protein and raw fruit in the morning… not just carbs!  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  If you can’t force yourself to eat right away, make a fruit smoothie to take on the road with you!

* Read something inspiring.

YOU get to define “inspiring.”  If it’s a religious book, great!  If it’s an old comic book, great!  If it’s SFPNN, even better!  :)  We’d love to be a part of your morning routine!   The point is to program your mind with good thoughts to get you on the right track for the rest of the day.

* Meditate.

Just sit quietly and breathe, clearing your mind of all the chatter.  Listen to an inspiring guided meditation.  Picture sending love, peace, joy and grace into the rest of your day.  Whatever mediation style works for you is wonderful.  Just give your body and mind a few minutes to quietly recharge.

* Exercise.

It doesn’t matter if you do gentle stretches for 5-10 minutes or a full cardio-vascular and strength-training regime for an hour. Exercise loosens up your body, helps you feel better, de-stresses and detoxifies, increases your serotonin and boosts your immune system.  Listen to what your body tells you!  If you’re stuck for ideas, e-mail me.  I’ve got some great yoga and Pilates DVDs that are as short as 10 minutes and really work.

* Visualize and affirm your day.

Setting your intention for the day can make a great big difference… especially in how you feel while you’re doing it.  If you set your mind to have a great day ahead no matter what comes your way, very often you will!

Folks, it’s a brand new day, a brand new month, and still a pretty new year as we enter into February.  How are you feeling?  What are you willing to do to create a great day for yourself?

May you be blessed with each breath you take!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

1.      Happy Birthday, Jim S.!  * 03 Feb *

Hope you have a wonderful year ahead, Dad.  Remember, it’s up to you to write the script of your life.  May your days be filled with love, laughter, and joyful adventures.

2.      What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

3.      Humor  — Thanks to Tom R. Oh

SILENCE ISN’T GOLDEN!

An elderly couple was attending a church service. About halfway through, she leans over and says to her husband, "I just let out a silent fart, what do you think I should do?"

He replies, “Put a new battery in your hearing aid!"

5.      For a Good Laugh, Check out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

6.      Kindness Suggestion

THE SPANISH VACATION
from Ellie Braun-Haley

It is interesting how we connect with each other. I've never met Harry Purdy who sent this story, yet I did teach his grandson in some special classes of dance, drama and art. Here is Harry's story: (It is published in FOR GOODNESS SAKE)

The Spanish Vacation

This is a story that took place a few years ago in Spain. I was working as a radio announcer at a Canadian Military Base in Germany and each year we took a month camping holiday to explore a different country. This particular year had taken us to the Basque region of Spain on our way to the beaches of Portugal.

I had a Dodge Family Wagon camper, which is very unusual in Spain. I also had brake problems from a lot of mountain driving. The brake pads on my front brakes had worn out and were causing a lot of metal to metal contact. I knew that I couldn't continue to Portugal without brakes. I also couldn't return to Germany. I also knew that it would be nearly impossible to get brake parts and I was looking at shipping my camper home on a truck. We were stuck in a Spanish campground.

It had been raining for a few days and we were a little dejected with the weather and brake problems. I went for a walk in the small town one afternoon and passed what appeared to be a small garage. When I went into the building I found it was a rather large garage which had been cut into the side of a cliff. With a lot of hand signs, some very broken German and English, I managed to explain my problem to the mechanic. He told me to bring my brake shoes to the garage and he would see what he could do.

Well, he found the largest set of Fiat brake pads he could find, which just about fit on my well worn Dodge brakes, but there was no way to attach the pads to my metal retainers. He set up his lathe, cut special bolts, drilled holes and tapped threads to screw the Fiat pads onto my brake shoes. He spent most of the day doing the repair and then drove me back to the camp ground.

I tried to pay him for the parts and his labor but he refused take any money. I even offered to take him and his family to a restaurant for a meal. He refused.

He saved our holiday and we continued on to Madrid and then back to Barcelona and spent the rest of our holidays on the beach. I still think of this Spaniard's kindness to this day.

7.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

8.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

I was starting to feel scattered and needed to take a time out and this song came.

Let your mind unload

Sometimes it’s best to stop what you’re doing,
And let your mind unload.
Pay attention to what’s going on in there,
So you can release it and go on.
If you really focus in on what’s going with you,
You may notice whether or not it’s true
That you are living the way you want to,
Or you can choose again.
If you’re not living the way you want to,
Take time to choose again.

Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network is proud to present:

* The SFPNN Positivity Link Award *

 THE 7 WONDERS MOVIE

http://www.sevenwondersofyourworldmovie.com/

Abroad to see wonders the traveler goes, And neglects the fine things which lie under his nose.Proverb

Wonders will never cease.— Proverb.

The world will never starve for want of wonders; but only for want of wonder. --- Gilbert Keith Chesterton

Jeanette shared this week’s link with me from the website of a very good friend of hers, Dave Boufford, who shares her mission.   His mission is also to bring positive thoughts and information to the web; in his own words, “National and International stories of positive progress, hope and positive people.”

I share one of his loves… Dave’s weekly newsletter always has three quotes; and I know all about synchronicity but I still take a small gasp of breath in awe and wonder every time it happens.  And it happened when I was looking for my quotes related to “The 7 Wonders.” The first one I found was the first one above and it is the movie.

 Enjoy the movie, enjoy your wonders, and enjoy more wonder in you life.
