Well, it’s Super Tuesday in the
There have been numerous e-mails generated about many of the candidates already; many of them simply not true, and are made up speculations and stories. Human beings say we want the truth, but are we willing to seek it?
I personally was surprised to discover my second and third choice candidates actually had pretty good policies on the topics I care the most about. I’m glad I did my research because the person I had planned to vote for has since dropped out of the race. Although a bit discouraged because I believed “my” candidate had a magnificent blend of personal values, integrity and experience, either my second or third choice candidates could do a great job for our country and its impact globally.
Now I have to do my part. And I call on those of you with the opportunity to vote today to do yours. Do some website searches. Research the policies and topics which mean the most to you. Vote from your consciousness for the candidate you believe will have the most positive impact for the greatest number of people.
A lot of folks feel like there’s no perfect candidate in this race – or any other political campaign for that matter. Truth be told, they’re right. Because human beings simply are not perfect. And we’re not identical. We all have different ideas, goals, agendas, perspectives, and experiences.
Sometimes we find ourselves dealing with those we perceive as less than ideal. Yet we MUST deal with them for some reason or another. Maybe it’s a boss or co-worker, fellow student or teacher, friend, family member, grocery store clerk, or even a member of the government. We know they push our buttons, we know they see things differently. Yet we also know we have to work with them to meet our own needs or agenda. What then?
Well, as long as we’re noticing their differences (those things we judge as “wrong” about the person) we might as well learn to work with them. Finding out another’s perspective and point of personal reference can help us understand where they’re coming from. Knowing that, we can help them see our perspective in terms they’ll relate to. Instead of being confrontational, we can be empathetic and help them do the same.
Another effective approach is to find out what motivates others. Very few people are motivated by criticism or confrontation. Yet sincere appreciation (even when it may be difficult to find) and recognition can do a lot to let folks know we’re on the same team even if we have personal differences.
It also helps to know what that person’s character traits are best suited for. I remember a lecture by Aman Motwane where an office worker was known for being stingy and difficult when it came to handing out simple office supplies such as pens, paper, etc. After careful review of the company it was noted that their warehouse was in complete disarray and lacking the controls it needed on major supplies. Realizing this “difficult” office worker was dedicated to keeping within the budget and monitoring the supplies he was in charge of, they transferred him to oversee the warehouse. He thrived and the huge deficits the warehouse had been experiencing were resolved within a few months. Instead of being taunted for his strict controlling nature, he was respected for turning things around.
When we can look to understand others, work with their motivating factors and recognize the gifts they have to offer, our perspective suddenly shifts. Instead of having our buttons pushed, we have our needs met and develop an ally instead of an enemy or perceived obstacle.
Is there someone difficult you’re dealing with? Have you tried to understand their perspective? Do you know what motivates and inspires them? Can you see their positive aspects and the gifts they offer? Try working with these approaches. You just may be pleasantly surprised.
Have a Super Tuesday!
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…
Rev. Jeanette

YOU Experienced Soul Magic?
Miracles happen every day in every way. Those amazing things, big and small, which touch our heart and soul can seem absolutely magical. They often leave us with a profound feeling which goes beyond anything we can explain with logic. Sometimes they change us for just a brief moment, filling us to overflowing with awe and wonder, gratitude, a sense of connection to something bigger, or even renewed faith. Other times they are literally life changing.
As the editor of SFPNN, I personally invite you to share your Soul Magic experiences with us.

THE BEGINNING OF THE RAINBOW
by Jeanette M.
Pintar
I’ve always loved rainbows. They seem so magical, so mystical, the stuff stories, fairytales, and old Petula Clark and Fred Astaire movies are made of!
I believe the rainbow is God’s promise to never destroy the Earth
again. My faith in this was renewed on
the first day of 2000 when God gave us a beautiful rainbow over
I also love the idea of finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Or even finding the end — or beginning — of a rainbow!
I’ve seen some pretty amazing rainbows in my life… Double and triple rainbows which stood one on top of another, rainbows that arched end to end with each other, “pilot’s halo” rainbows which reflect off of jets as a full circle on top of the clouds, “moon-bows” and other breath-taking rainbow spectacles.
And last week, for the very first time, I saw the beginning of a rainbow!
I was doing yoga in my living room when I heard the rain begin to pound down on the pavement and windows. Looking up in surprise, I noticed the sun shining through the darkest of clouds amidst the downpour. “I wonder…” I said aloud curiously, with hope and anticipation rising in my heart as I raced toward the window. We’ve been in our new home almost two years now and I had yet to see a rainbow here.
Looking out the window to the northwest, a flash of color caught my eye and I literally saw the beginning of a rainbow form on the hillside about a football field’s distance away!
It was so brilliant, so large, so close! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was so excited I wanted to share it. I grabbed my camera but as I tried to snap the photo, the batteries went dead! Drat! I got new batteries and ran to the closest window, but alas, the rainbow was now too faint for the lens to pick up. But not too faint to paint a photographic memory in my mind’s eye that was worth a pot of gold in the joy it brought.
It reminded me to look for the beginning of the rainbow! You just might find it!

God Given Daisies — by
Anticipation
Some people live in a state of
anticipation and expectation. I for one, do.
I expect the best of people,
and the best outcome for most situations.
My anticipation and
expectations for good come from my trust in God. I believe and have confidence
in the One that has always been there for me.
Yes, there have been times I
thought God wasn't listening to my prayers.
Sometimes His answer was “No” or "Not now" so at the time I
believed He couldn't have really heard my prayer. I have
learned, through it all, that God does answer prayers. He answers with our best
interest at heart.
We may not understand His
reasoning. But in time, we learn and receive the blessings He intended for us.
I believe "Thoughts are
things... so choose the good ones." This is a quote from Notes from the Universe and
Mike Dooley.
I believe that if you
"Believe, you receive and achieve." So I live in a state of appreciation, expectation,
and anticipation of all things good.
Try it!
