Howdy Folks and Good Day!

Have you ever noticed the more we learn and become “enlightened” the harder we seem to fall?

When we were “down in the pits” to start with the fall didn’t seem that far, nor did we seem to hit with as much of an all-out ker-splat!   Or maybe we just weren’t aware of it when we did.

As we become more aware, we become much more sensitive – both to the seemingly magical parts of life and to the stuff we would prefer to do without.   The good and the bad news is none of us are immune to being lifted up or to falling down.

There will be days when we’re flying along soaring on the currents of life, the sun shining on our backs and the wind beneath our wings lifting us higher and higher.  Then there will be days when the currents of life slam us into the mountain side.  Or, more likely, we’ll get distracted and make a wrong turn and quickly find out with a splat!

A wrong turn can be a moment of frustration, a word spoken in anger.  It can be doubt or fear.  Maybe it’s a choice that wasn’t in our best interest or which unintentionally hurt another.  We all make them and experience the crash that follows.  Then what?

Once we’ve crashed into the pits, it’s human nature try to justify our wrong turns and blame everyone else.  Ego takes over and goes crazy as we try to kick and scream and claw our way out.  But as we gain experience and awareness, we realize there are other ways out of the pit… Such as to say, “I’m sorry” or to ask for help or forgiveness.  Maybe even to say, “I was wrong.”  (Ooh. That’s a hard one.) It’s a good time to recognize whatever we were doing that got us there isn’t working and to try a new approach.  We learn that love works better than blame, and better than fear -- which is often what provoked the wrong turn in the first place.

When we become more aware of things, the fall into fear seems to hit harder and hurt more.  But this is to our benefit.  It helps us recognize we’re slipping a lot sooner than we did in the past.  We may even avoid crashing into the pit all together.

Perhaps we just need to land on some solid ground, take a good look around, and get a better perspective.  Sometimes this pause helps us take a leap of faith to ride the next current of our lives.  Sometimes we recognize things are a little too turbulent to proceed right now and we need to hunker down for a little bit.  While we’re waiting for conditions to improve, we take care of ourselves (and our loved ones) as best we can and keep praying for help, clarity and Divine Guidance.  When the time is right to move forward again, we’ll know.

And we’ll soar...

May the pitfalls of your life come fewer and further in between, may your landings be soft and perfect every time.  And may your faith and your awareness continue to grow to lift you higher and higher.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

3.      What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

Picking Lemons

The woman applying for a job in a Florida lemon grove seemed way too qualified for the job.

"Look Miss," said the foreman, "have you any actual experience in picking lemons?"

"Well, as a matter if fact, yes!" she replied. "I've been divorced three times."

6.      For a Good Laugh, Check out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

SHARING A HEROIC ACT OF KINDNESS

After all the devastating tornadoes that struck on “Super Tuesday” my family and I are ok.  However, everyone in the South, as you know, didn't fair as well.

This story really touched my heart and made me think of angels.  Below is an excerpt and a link to the article in the February 08th, 2008, issue of the Huntsville Times newspaper.

As the saying goes, "if that don't light your fire your wood is wet" :)

-- Larry

Excerpt from "The Huntsville Times"

Moments after a massive tornado ripped through southeastern Lawrence County, 86-year-old McCullough's next-door neighbor, Jade Eddy, came to check on her. It was dark, raining and windy, and McCullough had been thrown from her trailer, which had been blown from its base and landed across County Road 186.

McCullough was breathing, barely.

Eddy, 24, found McCullough in the yard. She couldn't locate a blanket to place on the elderly woman to shield her from the cold rain, so she lay down on top of her. With wind and rain whipping around them, Eddy held the woman and recited the Lord's Prayer.

The young woman - who works at Moulton Nursing Home - was up feeding her 6-month-old son when the weather got bad. After the tornado knocked her family's home off its foundation and blew out the windows, she gave her infant to her parents so that she could run through the rain and see if McCollough needed help.

On Thursday, Eddy was at the doctor because she was sick with the flu.

"There aren't enough words to tell you how I feel about what that young lady did for my mother," said Wade Long, McCullough's 67-year-old son. "She didn't know there wasn't another tornado coming, but she was out there anyway.”

8.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

9.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

This song came to remind me of the truth, once more.

you are the only

You are the only thing that gets in the way
Of you and anything you want.
It’s been proven time and time again
That possibility exists.
And that means that you can become
Whatever you are meant to be--
A living example of what it means
To live in possibility.
We are each examples of what it means
To live in possibility.

10. The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network is proud to present:

* The SFPNN Positivity Link Award *

 THE LAW OF SIMILARITIES

http://www.dontolmaninternational.com/portal/content/view/24/95/

Scientists were rated as great heretics by the church, but they were truly religious men because of their faith in the orderliness of the universe.
---Sir Humphrey Davy

It is a mathematical fact that the casting of this pebble from my hand alters the centre of gravity of the universe.
---Thomas Carlyle

God does not play dice [with the universe].
---Albert Einstein

The celestial order and the beauty of the universe compel me to admit that there is some excellent and eternal Being, who deserves the respect and homage of men.
---Unknown

The Answer to the Great Question Of . . . Life, the Universe and Everything... [is] Forty-two.
— Douglas Adams

I couldn’t help going with mainly quotes today because they give so much more meaning to our Link of the Week today than I could ever express.

The scientists seem to like to give things scientific sounding names which the web site shares with us: “A stupendous insight of civilizations past has now been confirmed by today's investigative, nutritional sciences.  They have shown that what was once called The Doctrine of Signatures’ was astoundingly correct.”

“Referred to in the classical period of Rome as the ‘Law of Similarities,’ it is now called by scientists, ‘Teleological Nutritional Targeting.’”

But I’m a simple minded individual, so for me it all just means visual evidence that everything is connected to everything else.

I would like to thank Ellie Braun-Haley for sharing this web site with us.
