Howdy Folks and Good Day!
We’ve all heard the expression, “Oh, they’re just caught up in their own little
world,” but how many of us realize we’re all
caught up in our own little worlds?
When I walk in the mountains or along the beach, I’m always amazed at how completely different the world is there. There are literally hundreds of thousands of living beings in these places I’m not even aware of! And the ones that do cross my path leave me in awe.
Have you ever wondered what the world is like from a bird’s perspective? How different would life be if we were a robin, a humming bird, a hawk, or a pelican?
What would the world seem like if we were a plant? How different would it appear if we were a palm tree, fruit tree or pine tree? What if we were a tomato plant or even a “weed”?
What would the world seem like if we were a rock or a mountain, one of the many rivers, or an ocean?
We may never know the experience or perspective of our world from these different vantage points, but in pondering them we might become aware of how different our world is experienced from person to person. Even within the same family, experiences vary immensely from child to child.
We all have our different beliefs and perspectives, struggles and graces, failures and successes. We may think we know what it’s like to be in someone else’s shoes, but just like we’ll never truly understand life from the vantage point of a bird, plant, or river, we can never truly know what it’s like to be in someone else’s place…which makes judging anyone rather useless.
We’ve all been taught to observe, classify and label things since our school years. It’s a way of communication, a way of feeling more knowledgeable and in control of our environment. It helps us survive and stay safe. Or does it?
As we label things, we tend to make judgments. And when we judge we set up certain expectations, positive or negative. These expectations may skew our experiences and instead of experiencing people for the divine gift they truly are, we may miss out on their blessings all together.
It can be a challenge not to judge others – or even ourselves for that matter. But it’s a challenge worth taking! Because when we learn to observe without labeling -- without judging -- we receive the goodness within every living being… human, animal, plant or otherwise.
May you be blessed today and every day with Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, Prosperity, and Non-judgment…
Rev. Jeanette

Success Strategies — by
It’s So Easy to Kid Yourself
We had a new house built just a mile and a half from where
we used to live and were VERY excited about it.
I would walk up to the job site almost every day to check on the progress
being made. And each morning, we drove to pick up a dozen donuts to deliver to
the guys working on the house.
It's just a short distance, and sometimes I did not buckle
my seatbelt. But wearing my seatbelt is a commitment I made to myself some time
ago, and I was surprised how I wasn't totally honoring that commitment.
It all started a little over ten years ago when I was having
a routine physical. My doctor was going through his checklist of questions
about things that impacted my health--diet, alcohol use, smoking, etc. One of the questions he asked was if I wore my seatbelt while
riding in a car. My response was, "most of the time." He looked me in
the eye and asked if I would be willing to wear it
He went on to explain that because I didn't smoke, didn't
abuse alcohol or take drugs and had no heart disease in my family, a traffic
accident was my single biggest health risk. It really got my attention.
And right then and there I promised myself that I would use
my seatbelt EVERY time I got into an automobile. And I've kept that promise.
And that's why I was so surprised when I found myself all
these years later, cheating on my promise to myself and my family.
I was rationalizing it. It was only this time. It's such a
short distance. I'll do it the REST of the time. This doesn't really count.
And, of course, it does.
It's dangerous, yes. It's also a slippery slope to sliding
out of commitments.
Once I realized what I was doing, I started buckling up
again and I'm glad. And Dawn is glad.
But what if I hadn't called myself on my broken promise?
My life is going better than it ever has. And a careless
accident could easily ruin that. My chances of surviving and even avoiding
injury in an accident if I wear a seatbelt are considerably higher--and it only
takes a couple of seconds.
What about you? Do you have commitments--to yourself or
others--you've let slide? Take an honest look. Ask your spouse or close friends
where you might be out of integrity.
When we kid ourselves, we lose--big time. It may seem like a
little thing, but in my experience life is all about the so-called little
things.
And for Pete's sake, wear your seat belt.
Make it a Great Day!

5. Sir Froggie’s Pondering — from Sir Froggie
WHAT’S
TAKING PRECEDENCE TODAY?
Are you organized? Prioritized? Living in alignment with your values?
What’s taking precedence today?
We often talk about what we wish we had in our lives, what we really want, and what we’d do if we had it. How much of ourselves are we willing to commit to manifesting these desires? It’s easy to come up with reasons we can’t follow our dreams or reach our goals. But truth be told, it’s just as easy to submit reasons why we CAN follow our dreams and reach our goals!
We’re the leader of our own lives. We create the rules, values, and objectives we live by. We choose or allow our support teams or lack thereof. If we want things to change, it’s our responsibility. Yet it’s frequently an unconscious underlying belief which shifts this responsibility and puts us in the role of helpless victim instead of the ruler of our own life.
We are not victims! Sure, we may have experienced wrong-doing by others. We may have experienced awful situations which knocked us flat and left us wounded. But within each one of us lies a powerful, magnificent human being perfectly capable and worthy of leading us to the pinnacle of our lives, dreams and goals. No matter how improbable things may appear at any given moment, anything is possible.
But is it worthwhile? Is it what we truly desire?
It’s important to review our lives and what’s taking precedence in them. Do our priorities align with what really matters to us or are they a result of unconsciously giving our power away to others? (Note: this is not the same as consciously serving others by choice!) What do we give our heart, soul and energy to on any given day? What is it all leading to? What difference is it making in our lives and the lives of those we care about?
If we were the president of our own country and had the power to achieve anything we felt was in our best interest, and the best interest of our country, what would we want to do? What actions would it require? Are we working toward these achievements in our life as it is today? If not, why?
If we don’t have the money, it can be earned, raised, granted or loaned. Knowledge can be learned, borrowed, or shared from those who have the wisdom we need. Help can be hired, bartered or volunteered. Time can be scheduled. For every excuse we have not to do what we dream of there’s an alternative way to enable and assist us in achieving our heart’s desires.
It’s time to take the lead of our own lives, of our deepest calling. We must ensure what we really want and that it’s a worthy investment of our time, money, effort, wisdom, and heart energy. We must know it’s in our highest good even if we’re not sure why yet. And we must align ourselves with these goals if we’re to bring them to life.
Pause for a minute. Ponder where you are leading yourself…
What’s taking precedence today?
