Howdy Folks and Good Day!
Did you ever experience one of those days when everything seems to come together
with a specific message for you? Today
is one of those days for me. Joy sent
her column in two weeks ago.
So today’s issue is dedicated to time, both embracing it and detaching from it.
I recently had a rather interesting conversation with one of my friends while doing a Reiki session for her. Upon suggesting she remove any heavy belts or bulky accessories which could get uncomfortable during the treatment, she immediately took off her watch and commented how it often got in the way.
She was very surprised when I told her I hadn’t worn a watch in almost 15 years. She wanted to know how I kept time. Was I late for appointments? Did it throw off my schedule? Did it bother me not to have a watch?
My friend was very curious about living unbound by a watch. When I first started out, I was too. I had read about the concept of being “time-bound” in one of Deepak Chopra’s books and then in several others. I realized how much of my life was spent watching the clock and I decided to make some changes.
Off came the watch! And like my friend, it felt like a huge release. But it also felt like a little bit of my security blanket was missing. For the first few days without a watch I was worried about all the same things my friend was. Then I realized I have an impeccable inner clock. Even without trying to track time, I’m usually within 5 minutes of the correct time if not exactly on the minute.
And now days cell phones, computers, and just about every other electronic device has a clock on it so if I really want to know what time it is, I have multiple resources to check. Watches are not necessary.
Honestly, for most of the day, I don’t need to know what time it is. I can delve deeper into my work without watching the clock. Because I’m focused on what I’m doing, and not what time it is, I enjoy my work more. The same applies to spending time with my Loved Ones. Or exercising, or even soaking in the bath tub.
Granted, there are some professions where every second
literally counts. My husband edits
television programs for a living which requires working with 30 individual
frames (pictures) within
What’s more important is to track what we’re feeling and expressing… To be present in the moment and fully focused on what we are doing… To put our full selves into whatever we’re working on or playing at... Watching our Loved Ones, friends, and pets is much more rewarding than watching the clock. And when we allow ourselves to put our whole selves into connecting with those we love instead of worrying about the time, life takes on a new reverence.
Time will still be there whether we wear a watch or not. What we could lose without being so time bound is a good portion of the stress in our lives. So take off the watch and enjoy life more!

AN EXERCISE TO SLOW
DOWN TIME
One way I “slow down time,” release stress, and bring myself into the present moment is a simple bio-feedback exercise. I call it “Slow Down, Relax…” Here’s how to do it…
Sit down and take a deep letting go breath.
Find the pulse point on your neck with your first two fingers. (Right under the jaw-line about 2/3 – 3/4 of the way back toward the ear. If you can’t find your pulse on your neck, you can also place your fingers on your wrist pulse or even your heart.)
Feeling the sensations in your finger tips, tune into your pulse and then begin to notice your breathing.
Consciously begin to deepen your breaths, slowing them down a little more with each in and out breath. Continue to be aware of both your pulse and your breathing.
As you breathe in slowly… deeply… think or say the words, “Slow… Down…” Imagine your entire body slowing down as you breathe in.
Now exhale slowly… fully… as you think the word “Relax…” and consciously release tension from your body.
Continue to breathe in and out requesting your body and mind to slow down… and relax…with each breath.
As your breath deepens, and you begin to relax, notice your pulse slowing, perhaps subtly at first. The more you breathe and relax, the more you slow your Self down and release tension.
Try this for two minutes to begin with. Then work your way up to five, perhaps ten. After a while you will only need the “Slow Down… Relax…” commands for the first few minutes.
AS you become adept at this exercise, you can do it anywhere – including standing in line, at work, and even driving. (Just make sure you do NOT close your eyes!)
It helps clear your energy, release stress, and slow down your body, mind and perception of time. After learning this technique, my Dad has even been able to use it to halt panic attacks in their tracks!
It’s simple. Give it a try.
Come on… slow down… relax a little…
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…
Rev. Jeanette

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!
It doesn't stop there, though.

Kindness Suggestion
SUPPORT BIDEAWEE for the Love of Pets!
I just recently found out about Bideawee through the Animal Rescue Site. They were asking for donations to help a young kitten named Giuseppe in urgent need of a heart surgery. Having lost one fur baby to kidney failure and enduring an emergency stomach surgery with positive results on another kitty, it got my attention!
My husband and I were blessed to have the financial back up of credit cards to cover the health-care cost of our beloved pets. Not everyone is so fortunate. No one should have to choose between life and death based on their income and available finances… neither for human nor for pet!
Bideawee offers many, many services including their Second Start program, matching pets with humans, learning centers, a question and answer forum and several others. You can learn more from their website:
http://www.bideawee.org/index.php
Having been “owned” by many animals through-out my life I would never want to be without them. (I have been for short periods of time and felt like my heart was missing its life force!) Supporting those who help animals is not only giving kindness to the animals and organization, it also helps us receive the kindness God’s little fur angels give back to us in so many ways.
If you’ve considered cat or dog adoption, or have just wanted to help animals in some way, this organization may be something to look in to.

TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!
Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world. We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes. Therefore, we have two challenges for you.
Kindness Challenge # 1: Do something kind today and every day. It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference. Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact. Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place. And feel free to tell us about your kind act!
E-mail: “KINDNESS”
Kindness Challenge # 2: Share something kind someone has done for you! People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis. But we often overlook their kindness. Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them. Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.
E-mail: “KINDNESS”

Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart
Thinking about what heaven means to me, this song came.
Heaven
Any Time
You can be in heaven any time,
Because heaven is a state of mind.
A state in which you allow all things to be
Exactly the way that they are.
Knowing that you cannot see the whole picture,
But also knowing One who does,
And trusting implicitly in that One
To lead you where you chose to go
A long, long time ago.
You can be in heaven any time,
Because heaven is a state of mind.

We talk about so much of our life in terms of our time. We don’t have enough of it? Others take too much of it from us. We are stuck in a time warp. Others are out of step with time. Those things happen from time to time. I’ll waste no time. I’ve been trying to do it for some time. Now is the time. There was a time when…. Daytime vs Nighttime. You get the picture, and I’m sure you can think of many more.
