Howdy Folks and Good Day!

What would your ideal day be like in your current life circumstances?

Think about that for a little bit… What would you spend your day doing?  Who would you spend it with?  Where would you go – or would you stay home?  What would you wear? What would you eat?  What would you feel like?

OK, now let’s take it a step further… if you had all the money you needed, and could live the life of your dreams, what would an ideal day be like?

What would you do?  Who would you spend it with?  Where would you go?  What would you eat?  How would you feel?

One more round… If you knew this was going to be your last week on Earth, what would your ideal day be like?

What would you do?  Who would you spend it with?  Where would you go?  What would you eat?  How would you feel?

Observing the answers to all three questions, what similarities did your ideal days contain?  How were they different?  How close to your current every-day life are they?

Sometimes stopping and asking ourselves what we really desire or what our ideal life would be can help us put things in perspective… either to appreciate what we have more or to make some changes to get us in alignment with our true selves.

Most of us think an unlimited budget would make a huge difference in our lives, but when it comes down to it, we’re surprised to discover we’d almost always do a lot of the same things we’re doing now!  Facing our last week on Earth often encourages us to reach out to family and friends we’ve been meaning to get in touch with.  But it also reminds us how blessed we are by those are in our lives on a regular basis.

Sure, we all have things which stress us out, drive us bonkers, and a long to-do list, but we also have many, many things to be grateful for.  We create our lives every day with our choices and attitudes.  We might as well enjoy them and revere this gift we call life!

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

1.      What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

Moving Right Along

During our last visit to Oaxaca, Mexico, Ellie and I were getting furniture for our office there. It seemed that everything we needed was in stores on the opposite side of the street, a street that had a median down the center. To get to a store, we had to drive past it and then make a U-turn.

After doing this a number of times, I commented that getting what we needed was taking a U-ternity.

After Ellie groaned at that, I thought that I might have to enter the “Witticism Protection Program.”

4.      For a Good Laugh, Check out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

5.      Kindness Suggestion

LOOK FOR THE DIVINITY IN EVERYONE

I meet a lot of people who are worried about how others will judge them.  They worry about how they look:  maybe they think they’re too tall or too short, too round, too thin, too pear shaped, or they feel out of style or out of place.  Sometimes they worry they’re not smart enough, pretty enough, or wealthy enough.  My heart aches for them when I hear this.

When possible, I try to look in their eyes and tell them:

You are enough.  You are more than enough.

And to everyone I encounter.  Please know this:

When I look at you, I’m not looking for what’s wrong with you.  I’m looking at the divinity within you.

I’m looking at the spark in your eye that reflects the joy and depth of your soul.

I’m looking at the smile on your face that expresses love to those you encounter; or even the frown which says, “I’ve been hurt and fear being hurt again.”

I’m looking at how you carry yourself… not your posture, or whether one leg is shorter than the other, or what kind of shoes you’re wearing but how do you feel about YOU?  About your place in the world?

I’m looking at whether you need a smile or a hug, a word of encouragement or maybe a joke.

I’m looking at the hopes and dreams and fears you carry with you.

I’m looking at whether you recognize your own divinity and how I might be able to reflect that back to you.

I’m looking at you and hoping you realize how special you are.

We all know how to judge people.  We also know how to love people.  Loving creates friends, judging creates enemies, including the enemy within ourselves.  I made a commitment to live in love very early in life.  I’ve never regretted it.  It’s allowed me to see the divinity within every being I meet, including myself.

Think how glorious the world is when we all see the divinity within each other.  I invite you to join me.  Look for the divinity in everyone.

1.      TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

2.      Moments of Joy — From Joy Hart

I enjoy singing and sharing my songs at Beacon of Life church and now call myself a song receiver because they are coming through at a rapid pace. Here’s a few more to reflect my state of mind.

A Lot of My Songs

I can see a lot of my songs
Being performed on stage.

Each song would be a mini-revue.
The characters would be ordinary people,
Just going through their day,
And dealing with ordinary situations,
As they go along their way,
Allowing themselves to have a Holy Instant,
In which they choose to be
Merely a channel for God’s love to flow
Wherever it wants to go.

It seems to me that is the reason we’re here—
To be extensions of God’s love,
Radiating out to everyone
We come to be aware of.

Seek Ye First the Kingdom

Seek ye first the kingdom that lives inside of you,
That place of perfect peace that nothing can undo.
When you access it, you’ll know who you are—
God’s love will shine through you like a star.

3.      The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network is proud to present:

* The SFPNN Positivity Link Award *

OMNIVORACIOUS

Vigorous writing is concise.— William Strunk

In trying to be concise I become obscure. — Proverbs.

A proverb is a short sentence based on long experience.--- Proverb

Today’s link is wonderful for everyone but especially for those of you who love to read and/or write.  This week there are several aspects to our Link of the Week.

First, this page is about a book, “Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Famous and Obscure Writers.” Isn’t that a neat title?

I have only read examples from the book along with an interview with the co-author.  I am hoping after you read this web page you will be inspired to write your own ‘six word memoir’ and send it to me at my e-mail address below so we can share some of them with our SFPNN readers.

Second, is where the book comes from: SmithMag.net.

They call themselves a “storytelling community: a place to read, write, and share stories. They have several Projects that they are taking submissions for.  I hope many of you will get out your pens or keyboards and submit a story for: ’Brushes With Fame, Six Word Memoirs, and/or The Green Life’.

The third aspect is Omnivoracious itself [I love that word] which describes itself as a blog run by the book editors at Amazon.com… “We aim to share our passion for the written word through news, reviews, interviews, and more. This is our space to talk books and publishing frankly and we welcome participation through comments.”

Let There Be Peace On Earth and Let It Begin With Me...
