Howdy Folks and Good Day!
What’s your ideal life like? What would
a typical day include? What aspects of
that life do you have today? How can you
incorporate more of them into your daily schedule?
Often, when we really sit down and think about it, a lot of our “dream life” includes really basic simple stuff… Having time to rest, play and nurture ourselves, getting together with friends and family, maybe going on a few adventures, not having to worry and stress so much… Of course we all have our unique way of how we envision these and other things manifesting in our lives, but they’re not impossible.
Mark and I once had a conversation about his ideal life. Mark’s dream is to work on respectable film and TV projects shown to a mass audience. At the time, he was thinking Spielberg! I asked him what he would do differently when his dream came true. His answer was that he’d have more time and money to do what he really wanted. Throughout our relationship Mark has continuously increased his income. But no matter how much money he made, or how respected he’s become in the industry, or how many people have seen his work, it didn’t change his daily routine or his everyday life to include more of what he really wanted to do. Mark was the only one who could do that. And I’m happy to say he has.
Realizing the way to create our dream life is to incorporate the parts of it we can right now -- rather than waiting for some big break -- is a key aspect in living a happy and fulfilled life. Ironically, when we start investing in our desires this way, the part of the dream we’re pursuing that currently seems out of reach starts to manifest itself more rapidly.
What little things can you do today to create the life of your dreams? How can you work it in to your schedule? Is there something you can do on the way home from work? Can you set aside an hour a week to commit to what brings you joy? Can you get your family and friends involved? Are you willing to stray from your current routine a little?
I actually had a great experience yesterday because I did stray from my routine.
I agreed to take a friend to the airport at
It was a beautiful drive down to the airport along
The sun was shining, but not too intensely. A gentle breeze brushed against my arms and caressed my face as I stretched, reached, twisted and woke up my body. Terns, gulls and pelicans were nesting in the nearby lagoon. A beautiful Great Snowy Egret graced the shoreline. A sea lion darted in between the surfers as gentle waves rolled in and out during the low tide. By the time I left, my body, mind and spirit were completely relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. I felt awesome!
For some reason I was drawn to a nearby store I haven’t visited in ages. I wasn’t even sure why; it's been so long since I was there, they actually had moved a few doors down to a new location. As I walked in and wandered their new premises I found two items that had been on a my “wish list” for almost 2 years… a beautiful purple velvet bag the perfect size to house my angel cards, and a stunning quartz tea-light holder to balance the energy on my desk. I had actually been contemplating looking for these items over the internet and was delighted to find them right there in front of me.
I took them to my car and instead of going home I once again felt drawn to a particular area – this time it was behind the shopping center by the creek which empties into the lagoon. Mark called and as I was speaking with him, a beautiful young doe slipped out of the bushes and walked along the bank of the river, nibbling at branches just above her head. What a wonderful sight!
By this time I was hungry and stopped in a local restaurant for lunch where I also caught up on a little reading. After a delectable meal, I headed home feeling like a whole new person.
The day couldn’t have been more perfect. It included so many elements of my ideal life! Time with friends, a sense of freedom and adventure, connecting with nature, spending time at the beach, enjoying healthy activities such as yoga, being in the sunshine, having enough prosperity to purchase something special for myself, and just plain feeling good.
I could have spent the morning like any other… working, working, working! And getting stuff done! I still accomplished what I needed to but I found a way of incorporating the ideal aspects of my life into a normal day. The challenge is going to be prompting myself to continue doing so!
How about you? How can you incorporate your ideal life into your daily routine? What can you do today to nurture your soul, to feel really good about yourself, to have a beautiful day?
Take care of YOU and have a day filled with Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…
Rev. Jeanette

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!
It doesn't stop there, though.

Kindness Suggestion
BE COMPASSIONATE, BE HONEST,
HOLD A VISION OF THE HIGHEST GOOD
I’ve developed a reputation for telling things like they are. I don’t do it in a mean way or to be disrespectful, judgmental or critical. I simply tell the truth – in a compassionate way, in a way which leads to taking responsible and self empowerment.
Through-out my life I’ve had the experience of going to friends with a problem or situation I felt pretty lousy about. Those friends would empathize with me, agree it was all the other person’s fault, tell me how bad they felt for me, and how horrible my situation was. Sometimes they even got angry or sad or scared or vengeful with me. I was able to share my problems and grief, but in all honesty, it didn’t change much. In fact, often times it amplified my distress.
I’ve also had the experience of going to other friends with a problem or situation I felt pretty lousy about. Those friends would empathize with me and let me know they felt compassion for my situation. But then they would encourage me to see how the choices I made affected what had happened. They prompted me to take responsibility for however little or much I had to do with the resulting scenario. And they encouraged me to move through feeling lousy, to come up with ways of dealing with the situation and resolving it. They let me know they believed in me and that they knew I would move through it no matter how bad things appeared. They held a vision of my highest good even when I couldn’t. It changed everything, even if I wasn’t sure exactly how things had changed in that moment.
I want to be the kind of friend who tells the truth and encourages responsibility and self empowerment. It’s true, sometimes realizing we had a role to play in landing ourselves in a lousy situation can hurt. But more than just hurting, it can be extremely liberating! By taking responsibility we can make choices which lift us up, move us through, and help us heal so we don’t have to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. And for those times we do make a “repeat” we know we’ll be able to get through it yet again.
Everyone needs to vent sometimes just to get the “yuck” out. But when the vent is over, let’s be the kind of friend who keeps moving the situation forward and helps others take responsibility, empower themselves, and see the possibilities and opportunities in their challenges. Let’s be compassionate, be honest and hold a vision of their highest good. (Even if they can’t yet.)

TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!
Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world. We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes. Therefore, we have two challenges for you.
Kindness Challenge # 1: Do something kind today and every day. It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference. Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact. Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place. And feel free to tell us about your kind act!
E-mail: “KINDNESS”
Kindness Challenge # 2: Share something kind someone has done for you! People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis. But we often overlook their kindness. Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them. Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.
E-mail: “KINDNESS”
