Howdy Folks and Good Day!
It’s that time of the year again… As folks break out the barbecue, stock up on
sun-screen, and plan picnics and vacation time, SFPNN will be going on our
annual summer holiday. We need a break
too! J
This Friday will be the last day of our regularly distributed
e-mail issues until we return on
A lot of subscribers don’t get to read every single issue of SFPNN, so I’ll be announcing our summer break every day this week. Please bear with me if it’s a repeat for you.
Personally, I’ve always loved Summer Vacation! No matter how long or how short, it offers the chance to dream of new adventures, engage in favorite activities, and get together with family and friends.
I hope you’ll take some time to enjoy your summer and have a little vacation time for yourself.
One of the lessons I’ve learned about living positively is to incorporate some of my favorite vacation things into my everyday or “real world” life.
For instance, I invested in a little milk frother, along with some gourmet coffee, cinnamon and chocolate shavings to make my own cappuccinos. Instead of grabbing a coffee on the run, I sit and savor its rich aroma, creamy texture and perfectly balanced bitter and sweet flavors. I bask in the simple pleasure of my favorite home-made cappuccino as if I were being served at a lovely resort.
Another way I incorporate “vacation” into my real world is having a relaxing breakfast (or lunch or dinner) outside at the bistro table. There’s just something magical about dining al fresco. I keep it simple yet elegant. If it’s still too cool for outside dining where you live, try savoring a cup of herbal tea or hot cocoa as the cool wind blows. A sip of your favorite wine with a few cheese cubes may also work.
One of the most important ways of bringing vacation home is to take a weekly sacred day, setting aside one day of the week where you make time for YOU to relax, have fun, connect with God, your family and/or friends, nature, or whatever else is special to you. On this day, enjoying life comes first, chores come last.
Usually the reason we love vacations so much is because we allow ourselves the time to do what we really want and actually listen to our soul’s desires. There’s no need to wait for vacation to do this. Incorporating aspects of play, relaxation and rejuvenation into our day to day schedules can help create a much more fulfilling life and a more enjoyable atmosphere in the home.
Can you set aside a day of the week for yourself and your heart’s desires?
What do you love about your vacation time?
How can you bring aspects of those things into your “real world”?
Even if you haven’t budgeted the time or money to travel, get creative and think of ways you can transform your home into your favorite get-away place or sanctuary today.
Most of all, take time to enjoy your life!
With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…
Rev. Jeanette

Success Strategies — by
It Really Was a Perfect
I had an ideal day last week. What made it ideal? It was a number of things, actually.
This is all true—every word. It's not a visualization—although it did start that way a number of years ago.
I woke up to the sun streaming through our bedroom window. We've had a lot of rain and the leaves on the trees were greener than I've ever seen: a beautiful sunny morning—crisp and cool.
There was no "electronic rooster". We usually wake up early, but we sleep until we finish sleeping. I don’t even know how to SET the alarm clock. And my wife only sets it if we have an early flight somewhere.
Snuggled next to me was a beautiful loving woman: my partner, my lover, my best friend and my wife. Dawn is my 'True North' and we are very much in love.
I got the newspaper, Dawn made coffee and we had our first cup reading the paper in bed as we usually do. It's the way we like to ease into the day.
We love our new house. Every day one, if not both of us, says out loud, "I love this house." It really is beautiful.
We took our second cup of coffee downstairs to our spacious office—the "World Headquarters of Success Networks International". I love our business. I love writing and I love helping great people and great companies become even better. I never tire of it.
We checked email, reviewed our schedules and then headed back upstairs for our morning "Board Meeting".
Our board meetings take place in a Vanguard Hot Springs Spa built into our new deck. It's very private as it faces a dense woods. No bathing suits needed. We usually sit quietly for a few minutes in the 100-degree water and listen to the birds and the wind in the trees before we turn on the 32 powerful jets.
As we experienced the "Moto Massage" on our backs, we talked about our intentions for the day, established priorities, made some decisions that needed to be made and talked about a number of other things.
Board meeting over, we climbed out of our spa, toweled off and enjoyed a breakfast of scrambled eggs and asparagus. Delicious.
We worked on projects in the office until almost
It was a perfect day for tennis: 77 degrees with no wind. We played two sets—the longest two sets we'd ever played together. We're both getting better, so the points—and the games—are longer. Dawn's also winning more of the games than she used to.
After our showers, we had lunch and then worked some more in the office doing some really fun projects that you'll be hearing more about soon.
Around
There was no wind so we didn't take her out for a sail. We just fired up the grill, threw on a couple of New York Strip steaks we'd marinated during the afternoon and had dinner and some quiet conversation in the cockpit. Oh, and we also visited with some of our good friends in the marina. It's a great little community.
A glorious sunset capped off our lovely evening on the boat.
We drove home afterward (we're only 5 miles from Attitude's slip), did another session in the spa to rest those tired tennis muscles and prepare for a sound and relaxing rest.
Before drifting off to sleep we did our "Gratefuls". This is where we each share at least three things for which we're grateful. It's not hard to come up with them, and it focuses us on what we want, what we love and what we appreciate. I believe that if you have an attitude of gratitude and appreciate what you have, you'll find yourself having even more to appreciate.
There are other good things I could share with you about that day—and some that I won't—but I think you get the picture. It was a great day.
I share it with you not to boast, but to help some people—maybe you—see beyond current circumstances and create a beautiful life.
You see, my life today is totally different than it was just a few years ago. I had almost no money. I was always worried about paying bills. I wasn't happy with my relationships or in my career. My life was upside down in many ways.
But I knew it could be better. And I knew I was capable and deserving of a better life—a MUCH better life.
So I visualized it. I saw it in great detail. I felt it. I talked about it. I believed in it. I expected it. And I consistently worked toward it.
I practiced the proven principles of success—the same principles we teach at SuccessNet. I didn't do it perfectly, but I was as diligent as I could be. I made plenty of mistakes—still do. But I learned and practice "correction without invalidation". No more guilt for me—ever.
And I kept my eye on the prize—to live the life I imagined: the freedom, the beauty, the peace and the satisfaction.
Although that day was close to perfect—as most of our days are—we know it can be even better. And we know that if we add value to the world, the world will add value to us. It does and it will continue to do so—as it does and will for you.
So on that day last week, we played, we laughed, we talked, we exercised, got some good work done, relaxed, ate good and nutritious food, had no worries and we were grateful. What more could we ask for?
We each create our own lives. And we are responsible for our lives—just like I was responsible for my life when it was upside down. It wasn't easy to accept that responsibility, but I did.
So we visualize, appreciate, learn, practice, correct, believe, expect and enjoy each moment. And in doing so, we create our ideal lives.
It truly is great to be alive.

STOP
COUNTING YOUR BLESSINGS
Are you enjoying your life to the fullest? Do you feel happy and content? Or does it always seem like there’s one more thing between you and feeling good?
Stop counting your blessings and start enjoying them!
We’ve all heard the old adage to “count your blessings.” It’s a good place to begin because when we look at our blessings it changes our perspective to one of abundance and gratitude. However, counting our blessings is not the same as experiencing them. At some point we need to stop counting and start living.
It’s so easy to get caught up in every-day stuff, to push ourselves until we’re about to drop, and to have more things on the to-do list than could ever happen in this life time. All this hubbub can be very draining. We need downtime to relax, refresh, and rejuvenate ourselves. Unfortunately, modern culture frequently teaches the way to rejuvenation is through purchasing something new or putting one more thing on the to-do list. We’ve gotten big on multi-tasking and have forgotten how to be fully present and focused in the moment.
The discontent we feel really isn’t about getting the brand new purple glitter glazed super max fly swatter on sale for only $9.99 for a limited time only including the complimentary peace and love-labeled water bottles if we order within the next 24 hours. The discontent stems from getting so busy that we disconnect from our authentic selves.
Like attempting to watch four different football games in a sports bar with loud music while simultaneously carrying on a conversation, we get overloaded. We put static in our energy field, heart, mind, and emotions. This static feels like discontent, like something’s missing. It can frequently show up as loneliness. Adding more isn’t going to resolve it.
Simplifying and allowing ourselves to be fully present, to connect with ourselves, our blessings, and what we are doing, will give us a greater sense of joy, fulfillment, and connection.
Bask in your blessings.
Keep life simple. Make time for the little things which bring you pleasure. And make time for the big things you’re working toward.
Most of us have more than we’ll ever need but end up trying to fill the void (created by the static of busyness) with more stuff. Frequently going out to buy more stuff takes more of our time and energy, and although it may feel good in the moment, it leaves us drained in the long run.
They say you never know what you’ve got until it’s gone. It’s crucial to enjoy what we have in this moment. Don’t put it off until tomorrow because the opportunity may not come again. We’ve all had the experience of throwing away something from the refrigerator which started out as good food we meant to eat. But we simply didn’t get around to it and it went bad. Certainly more than one person has said “I’ll do it one of these days…” but one of these days never comes. And just like throwing away that food from the fridge we throw away little pieces of our lives every day, and may even feel a twinge of guilt each time we do so.
Stop. Listen to your heart. Check your gratitude list. What existing blessings can you enjoy right now?
If you’re stuck for ideas, consider the blessing of your five senses. Allow yourself to check in with them for everything you do. For instance, when eating, don’t just put the food on your fork and chew. Savor every moment… What does your cuisine look like? What color catches your attention? What does it feel like? What kind of texture does it have? What does it smell like? What does it taste like? How does it affect your energy levels?
Every bite of food we eat, every breath of fresh air we breathe, is a blessing. So is the home we live in, the mouth we talk with, the feet we walk with. Our family, friends, and pets bless us, as does our work. Both our body and our brains are a blessing. So is everything we’ve accumulated over the years.
What simple pleasure have you been denying yourself because you’re too busy? What change can you make to incorporate that blessing into your life, to connect with it, and experience it full on? Chances are you don’t need more stuff to make you feel good, you just need to connect with what you already have.
Challenge yourself with this experiment: the next time you feel the urge to go shopping, look around. Do you have everything that was on your list already? If not, can you live without them for the next day or week? What existing blessing do you have to connect with in the time you saved not going shopping?
What activity do you keep promising yourself you’ll do? How can you incorporate it into your daily life right now? (If not the actual activity, at least something connected to it.)
What blessing might you be overlooking? Make time to experience it today.
Stop counting your blessings and start enjoying them!
