I’ve got a few questions for you…
Are you open to Divine Directive?
Would you recognize a message from God or your Spirit leading you to take life changing steps?
Are you willing to follow when it does?
Your honest answers may tell a lot about your life. Often those who seem to get all the lucky breaks aren’t as lucky as they are tuned-in and open to receiving guidance from a higher realm than logic.
In my own life, no matter how great of plans I’ve made, the events which have catapulted me forward have always been unexpected Divine Directives.
This weekend, Mark and I both got a cat-apulted forward – literally.
You see, a few weeks ago, I’d been at Pet-Smart to get kitty
litter for our two “kits” Tiger and
It was a bit odd that all of the cats at Pet-Smart were
sleeping that Saturday… All except for one who looked into my eyes and right
into my soul.
That’s when I felt it! That
divine energy which brought our first cat, Misty, to us. And later, after Misty’s soul graduation, brought Tiger and
To make matters worse, this little feline looked like she could be Misty’s twin sister. And her name, Blossom, reminded me immediately of the hundreds of blossoms which fell on our car as we drove Misty’s deceased body to the crematory seven years ago on St. Patrick’s Day.
It startled me so much I literally began to shake and cry. It was so strong I had to leave. Previously, Mark
and I had lightly discussed getting a younger cat to play with our 30 lb Tiger and
get him more active but we really weren’t looking. Now this. I recognized the energy and what it meant
immediately. And when I told Mark what
happened he suggested we go back up and observe Blossom’s behavior to see if
she’d be a good match for Tiger and
We returned on Sunday and were allowed into the holding
area. Blossom immediately looked me in
the eyes again and jumped on my lap. We
had a very strong connection but she was rather hostile toward the other cats. There was no way she and
But I had felt that energy. And I knew it was a Divine Directive.
While we were looking at Blossom, two other cats came up to play with us -- Denny and Howie. As we interacted with them, Mark said what I was thinking… “Maybe the Divine surge and connection felt with Blossom was to get us to open up to another cat.”
We liked Denny and Howie. We knew one our friends would really dig Howie, but I was leaning more toward Denny. However, the timing wasn’t quite right. We had an out of town guest coming in the near future and would be gone most of the day, every day, for an entire week. Besides, we had to think about it.
Fast forward to a week later. We return to Pet-Smart with our friend who knows nothing about what the cats look like. Without any prompting from us, she immediately spots Howie and falls in love with him while I’m talking to the woman who runs the rescue organization about Denny. Turns out Denny had been adopted.
We interact with Howie and Blossom more. Blossom and I still have a strong connection, but if we get a cat, it would be for Tiger, not me. And Blossom is still showing aggressive behavior – especially toward Howie who was busy untying both of my shoelaces.
We return home and decide to give Howie a trial run after our out of town guest leaves.
Last Saturday we arrived to pick up Howie just as Blossom was being adopted by a very sweet family where she would be the only pet. My heart was overjoyed as her new owner let me say good-bye and congratulate them on Blossom’s adoption.
Mark picked up the new collar, tags, brush, etc., for Howie and
I filled out the paper work. Just as we
were finishing up, my eyes looked at the date L.I.F.E. had rescued Howie…
March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, is the anniversary of our Misty’s soul graduation.
The rest of the paper work was blurred. I had hoped were making the right decision before. Now I KNEW.
We returned home with Howie and I’d like to say everyone got along peacefully right off the bat. But I can’t.
Howie was fine, but Tiger and
Oh, my Gosh! What did we do?!
Fortunately, the folks at the L.I.F.E Animal Rescue prepared us for
what to expect and assured us this was normal behavior. Still, it was upsetting and confusing. I had followed a Divine Directive. I trusted.
I saw the signs. I mean they
rescued Howie on the anniversary of Misty’s transition for goodness sake! What are the chances? Still, Tiger and
God, are You SURE this is the right thing to do?
I opened the information pamphlet from L.I.F.E. to see if there were any more suggestions for getting everyone settled and read it from start to finish. What we were experiencing was all “normal” for the circumstances and it would just take some time for everyone to adjust.
I couldn’t help but to think how everything had worked in just the right order to bring Howie to us… and then seeing the date he had been rescued. It had to be the right choice. Still, I wished I had just one more sign for certain.
I noticed an information sheet about Howie I hadn’t seen before. It had his microchip ID # and a few other things on it, including his birthday…
I got my sign.
And we got Howie, or maybe he got us. He’s almost won over
We certainly weren’t expecting to adopt another cat, but we’ve learned to be open when Divine Directives are given. Even when they don’t seem to make much sense at the time. Even when we question them and need to ask for more confirmation. And especially when they involve a feline.
Are you open? Are you willing to listen when called?
Meow-wow.

Have
YOU Experienced Soul Magic?
Miracles happen every day in every way. Those amazing things, big and small, which touch our heart and soul can seem absolutely magical. They often leave us with a profound feeling which goes beyond anything we can explain with logic. Sometimes they change us for just a brief moment, filling us to overflowing with awe and wonder, gratitude, a sense of connection to something bigger, or even renewed faith. Other times they are literally life changing.

4. A Poem from L.I.F.E. Animal Rescue
THE STRAY
By William
Waltham
Oh, what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you homeless to my gate?
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter, warmth and food
For from that day I ceased to be
The master of my destiny.
While he, with purr and velvet paw
Became within my house the law.
He scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed.
He ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day he died.
So if you really think, oh Cat,
I’d willingly relive all that
Because you come forlorn and thin
Well… don’t just stand there,
Come on in…

Fuzzy Tales – Thanks to Diane, the
AN ENGINEER’S GUIDE TO
What happens when you take someone highly allergic and uncomfortable around cats and place them in a home with two feline nemesis (or Gods/Goddesses if you ask the cats)?
They become good friends whether they want to or not. And most likely end up pet sitting while their felines’ humans are away…
At least that’s what happened to Diane the California Dreamer when she moved close to us.
Diane definitely was NOT a cat person but as she says…
“Until I cat sat... I didn't understand these
things.
We hope
you will, too, especially after watching the following video entitled, “An

God Given Daisies — by
Caretakers of The Earth
And All of God's Wondrous Glory
When thinking about what to
write before our vacation starts God put on my heart the message "That we
all should be caregivers or caretakers."
At first I thought this message
was because I take care of the elderly and children. But He opened my eyes to
see being a caregiver or caretaker means so much more than caring for our
immediate family or those we are in charge of.
I believe He wants us all to be
caregivers and caretakers of our family, our friends, our neighbors, our
community, the earth, and all the wondrous sites, sounds, and experiences He
has given us.
To be a caregiver or caretaker
you must be attendant to...or custodian of...a supervisor, a curator, and
conservator, a restorer, guardian and keeper of...
As this message kept going
through my mind and my heart of all the things God wants us to care for, I
received a wonderful e-mail from an on-line friend. The e-mail subject was
called "The Day God Dropped the Paint." I smiled when I saw the title because I often
refer to the scenes outside my windows as the "Master's Paintings."
They are the beautiful sunrises and sunsets I am privileged to see almost every
day.
I asked my on-line friend if I
may use her e-mail to enhance the message God had given me to share with all of
you.
The following is a link to a two minute video presentation of “The Day God Dropped the Paint” or “When God Dropped His Paint Box” along with the poem sent in the original e-mail I received from Chee Chee Martin.
We live in an
awesome world.
Make it an awesome day.
Peace To All and May God Bless You
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

Please enjoy the wondrous
beauty our Heavenly Father has graced us with and the Loved Ones He has put in
our lives to share it with.
As you enjoy your late spring
and summer, revel in His glory and be the caregivers and caretakers of all He
has given us.
