Howdy Folks and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Well, this is it.  Our last day of SFPNN until September 08th, 2008!

This is always a bitter sweet day as we say good bye for the summer yet look forward with excitement to all the possibilities awaiting us over the next few months.

Many of you have written to say you’ll miss our daily connections.  We will miss you too!

But I’d like to personally encourage each of you to keep plugged in to positivity by visiting our website on a daily basis.  Folks, there’s so much waiting for your discovery!

Take Patty’s Vicarious Travel Page… Just in time for summer she has put together an incredible tour of Sacred Sites and Mysterious Places.  The photos are amazing.   And the things you’ll learn are certainly interesting.  You can travel the world via your desktop – a great alternative to the high costs of air fare and travel by auto.

So be sure to visit Patty’s Sacred Sites and Mysterious Places page…

http://www.sfpnn.com/TravelbyPatty/SacredSitesAndMysticalPlaces/Sacred Sites and Mysterious Places.htm

And if you get inspired to travel the world, check out Our Tips and Suggestions for the Well-prepared Traveler and  Links to Travel Information.

Patty has some great resources lined up for you!

That’s not the only thing you’ll find on the SFPNN website, either.  Summer is a great time to get your self care on target and we’ve got a fantastic do-it-yourself guide to get you going in the right direction.  It’s complimentary and you can print it out to work with it, or just view one section at a time on the SFPNN website.

You can find it on the www.sfpnn.com navigation menu under SFPNN Workshop 101 or use the following link:

http://www.sfpnn.com/TakingCare101.htm

A healthy mind, body, and spirit are important keys to living a positive life.  Doing the above workshop will help you find the areas you’re doing great in and also help you realize the changes you may need to make for improvement.

In addition to help with your Self Care, we have another complimentary do-it-yourself lesson plan to help you make your dreams come true.  It’s under the A-Muse-Ing Inspirations button.  Just click on the “Do It Yourself Lesson Plan” link or use the following:

http://www.sfpnn.com/a-muse-ing_inspirations.htm#Do%20It%20Yourself

The A-Muse-Ing Inspirations Lesson Plan helps you create a Master Plan to work toward your dreams while doing The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. It’s an extremely powerful combination because the Master Plan helps you organize the steps to making your dreams come true and keeps you moving toward them.  Simultaneously, The Artist’s Way helps you recover your passion, creativity and sense of self while making you aware of the challenges and pitfalls of following your authentic calling.  It also gives you the tools to overcome them.

Another useful tool available to you on the SFPNN website is Spiritual House Cleaning.  This is a great way to “Let go and let God” or to detox from stress, get centered, and move through life’s challenges.

http://www.sfpnn.com/shc1.htm

And of course, we have all of our Featured Authors’ archives as well as some website only authors whose work you may not have read yet. All of our current Featured Authors are listed on the navigation buttons.  For additional authors, check the SFPNN Featured Author page:

http://www.sfpnn.com/PNN_Authors.htm

And if you need a quick pick me up, all of our Special Editions, Soul Magic and Fuzzy Tales are available online, too.

If you want to make any changes to your subscription, use the link at the bottom of today’s SFPNN (or any previous issue).  You’ll be able to update your information there.

FYI, I might send out some updates over the summer to remind you to visit our website or let you know about some the resources we have available to you. Or if something really good comes across my desk that warrants sharing, I may pass it along to you before our return in September.

I’m also taking Angel Therapy®, Reiki, and Theta Healing appointments over the summer.  As always, you can find links with more information on these healing techniques immediately following today’s greeting.

Folks, I know from experience how easy it is to forget there are positive things in the world just waiting for us to find them.  If it’s not in front of us, we often don’t go look for it.  That’s why we sign up for e-mail subscriptions… we want it sent to us so it’s always right there.  But this summer, I challenge you to go looking.

Obviously, I’d love for you to look for positivity on the SFPNN website.  That’s why it was built.

More importantly, I’d love for you to look for positivity in your own life. Especially in the things that are there so often, they get overlooked. .  . Like family members, friends, coworkers, bosses, and all the good people who make living our lives possible.

I’d love for you to look for positivity within YOU.  Go on a treasure hunt to find all your special qualities and the uniqueness you bring to the world.

Positivity, love, miracles and blessings are all around us.  We need merely become aware of them.  Acknowledge them.  Give thanks for them.

I’d like to acknowledge the special men and women who make SFPNN possible… everyone from my husband, Mark, who has supported me in this endeavor since its creation, to our host server, to our incredible authors who give so much of their time, talent and effort sharing their wisdom to inspire us all, and last but certainly not least, to you, our faithful readers.

Each and every one of you is a living, breathing miracle.

Please join me for just a moment and place your hands on your heart.  Taking a deep breath in say, “I AM a Miracle” and exhale.   Repeat.  You may even wish to try it with your eyes closed.  Notice what it feels like.  Let the positive energy, the truth of who you are, flow through you.

Because YOU, my friend, ARE A MIRACLE!

May God bless you and yours.  Have a wonderful summer and we’ll meet again in September.

With Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Prosperity…

Rev. Jeanette

45. What kind of day will today be?

The kind of day we make it!

A little pro-active positive programming can go a long way in creating our heart’s desires.  All of our thoughts have energy.  Energy attracts like energy.  Think about your desires for today. What would you like to experience in the next 24 hours?   Allow yourself to see it manifesting in your mind’s eye and feel it happening in your body so the energy of your thoughts and emotions draws it to you. Affirm it on the lines below!

Today, I desire and experience…

JIM KNOWS EVERYONE

Jim was bragging to his boss one day about all the people he knew personally. After claiming he knew numerous famous people, he said: "You know, I know everyone there is to know. Just name someone - anyone, and I bet I know them."

Tired of his boasting, his boss called his bluff. "Okay, Jim, how about Tom Cruise?"

"Hey boss, Tom and I are old friends, and I can prove it."

The next day, Jim and his boss fly out to Hollywood and knock on Tom Cruise's door. Tom Cruise opens the door and shouts: "Jim, old buddy! What's happening? Great to see you! Come on in for a beer!"

Although impressed, Jim's boss tells him that he thinks that Jim knowing Tom Cruise was just 'lucky'.

"No, no, just name anyone else, and I know him," Jim argues.

"President Bush," his boss quickly retorts.

"Yup", Jim says, "Dubya and I are old buddies - let's fly out to Washington and see him."

At the White House, Bush spots Jim on the guided tour and motions him and his boss over. "Jim, what a surprise," says Bush. "I was just on my way to a meeting, but you and your friend must come on in to my office and have a cup of coffee first and catch up."

After they leave the White House, the boss is still doubtful of Jim's bragging that he knows everybody and tells Jim so. Jim again implores the boss to name 'anyone'.

"Fine, then, how about the Pope?" his boss retorts smugly, getting very tired of Jim's boasting.

"Sure, I know the Pope!" cries Jim. "I've known the Pope for years."

Off they fly to Rome. Jim and his boss are soon assembled with the masses at the Vatican.  Jim says: "This will never work. I can't catch the Pope's eye among all these people. Tell you what, I know all the guards so let me just go upstairs and I'll come out on the balcony with the Pope."

This time, the boss is positive Jim is lying.

But... sure enough, half an hour later Jim emerges with the Pope on the balcony.

By the time Jim returns, he finds that his boss has had a heart attack and is surrounded by paramedics. Making his way to his boss' side, Jim asks him, "What happened?"

His boss looks up and says, "It was the final straw - you and the Pope came out on the balcony and the man next to me said, 'Who the heck's that on the balcony with Jim'?"

48. For a Good Laugh, Check out Tom R. Oh!

It started so simple, so innocently… Tom fulfilled a promise to write the stories he said he would tell. A man, two dogs and a forlorn tree… Who could have known it would turn into the intriguing series known as "The Christmas Tree Chronicles." Don't be fooled by the name, these twisted tales take you year round!

It doesn't stop there, though. Tom R. Oh is one of SFPNN's most prolific writers with a style uniquely his own and several mini series in the making.

49. Kindness Suggestion

A NOTE from the Editor:   Most likely you have seen the following Kindness Suggestion already.  It’s certainly visited my inbox a number of times.  But until I could verify the information I did not want to put it in SFPNN.   Having checked several resources I feel I can comfortably include it as a Kindness Suggestion.  And, as we have a global readership, I would like to ask you to broaden its meaning to include every service man and woman from every country who is serving from their heart with the inner belief they are doing the best thing possible.

When we realize our commonalities, that we all want peace, love, health, joy and freedom for ourselves and our families, the world becomes our playground instead of a battlefield.  Change takes place first within the heart.  We may not always agree on how it is effected in the world, but we can all agree that it takes a lot of courage to serve your country.  And we are grateful for those who do.

WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS
A.K.A Will You Give This to My Daddy?

Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly on their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi."

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try. What did she want to give to her daddy? Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon."

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans and Canadians who support their troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. . We get no media coverage on TV to reflect our message or our opinions. Many citizens, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of people support our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home.

By word of mouth, the press, or TV, let's make a sea of red every Friday, much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves their country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the country is covered in RED.  It will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked “What can we do to make things better for you?" is...”We need your support and your prayers.” Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

Note: Southwest Airlines is going to support "Red Fridays."  For more information, please visit:

50. TAKE THE SFPNN KINDNESS CHALLENGE!

Living through the words of Gandhi, we must be the change we want to see in the world.  We must also acknowledge those who are in the act of creating those changes.   Therefore, we have two challenges for you.

Kindness Challenge # 1:  Do something kind today and every day.   It doesn’t have to be of earth-shattering proportions to make a positive difference.  Simply saying “Thank You” or letting someone know they’re appreciated can have a tremendous impact.   Find little ways to be kind and to make our world a kinder place.  And feel free to tell us about your kind act!

E-mail: “KINDNESS

Kindness Challenge # 2:  Share something kind someone has done for you!   People are kind to us in a myriad of ways on a daily basis.  But we often overlook their kindness.  Become aware of acts of kindness and acknowledge the person performing them.  Then share their kind gesture with SFPNN.

E-mail: “KINDNESS

52. The SFPNN Link of the Week – Recommended by Aunt Bette

Sir Froggie’s Positive News Network is proud to present:

* The SFPNN Positivity Link Award *

 7 WONDERS OF YOUR LIFE

http://www.sevenwondersofyourworldmovie.com/?ref=79/

The world will never starve for want of wonders; but only for want of wonder.
–Gilbert Keith Chesterton

Wonders will never cease. Abroad to see wonders the traveler goes, And neglects the fine things which lie under his nose. –Proverb

I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult. –Rita Rudner

I wonder about a lot of strange things just as Rita does and Stephen Wright, another comedian-philosopher.   But today we are asking: what is a wonderment, a miracle?  What are the real wonders of the world?

These seven wonders are and make you a wonderment.  I know that lots of times I take them all for granted.  I don’t want to do that any more.  I want to stay aware of what miracles they all really are and that they are all mine and all yours every   minute or as the song lyrics say, 86,400 seconds a day.

I hope as we are separated during the summer you will keep us in mind as you become more aware of your wonders each day and remember that they make you one of the wonders of the world.

Make it   an amazing, awesome, miraculous summer full of wonder.

Let There Be Peace On Earth and Let It Begin With Me...
