Delona0314@aol.com

My fiancee (Christopher) recently got laid off and has been searching diligently for another job. Having relocated from the Bay Area to NC was a blessing in itself because he could settle down and build a life....hence meeting me shortly after arriving. He purchased a home and fell in love with NC. I know that economic times are challenging a lot of us and downsizing has transcended many markets but I am believing God to open up the doors for many
of us that do not want to relocate. Chris field is fiber optics / engineering. His severance is about to end and I'm helping as much as I can. Wedding plans (scheduled for Sept. 2002) are on hold. Please lift us up in prayer and affirm in the positive that the economy will turn around in a major way for everyone and that we will be able to stay in NC, keep our house, and marry in Sept. Thank-you. God Bless you all...Ila

Dear Friends,
I'd like to thank all of you for your prayers concerning my fiancé's job search. For the past 4 months he has been working as a contractor. Though the work can be sporadic in these situations, I can happily say his work has been steady.

We've been able to keep up the mortgage and the wedding plans. We have since decided to move the wedding up to June and plan simple but nice ceremony.

I just want to thank all of you so very much. I know to some that this may not sound like such an answered prayer but we really didn't know how we were going keep everything. Though the job keeps him out of town and state for long periods of time, we are still believing and trusting God for something permanent and in NC.

Please continue to keep us in prayer and thanks once again. I will keep you posted. In Prayer for all, Delona0314@aol.com

Kathy Ward

My coworker, Kathy Ward, was in a head-on collision yesterday afternoon. Kathy is 67 years old, and she has a broken hip and leg and a crushed knee cap.  There is a possibility her hand is broken. They were unable to complete surgery last night due to blood loss, and hope to finish this morning. Please pray for healing and comfort for her and her family- Lacey Hardin

Kathy has had a lot of problems with infection, but it appears to be cleared up now. She is still in a nursing home, and is unable to walk since they haven't replaced her knee yet. She is very bored, but is doing better physically. 08/30/01

Edith

Edith is back in the hospital at Ft. Bragg. She has had a complete intestinal blockage for almost a year now. Her Gall Bladder was
removed less than 2 weeks ago because of stones caused by the IV feeding. The radiation therapy that she had as a safety measure for the chemotherapy deleted cancer has glued her intestines together so that the obstruction cannot be cleared. The radiation has also weakened the blood vessels in her bladder and she has blood and clots in her urine. They have tried 3 different method so far with no luck to stop the bleeding. It is also causing her a lot of pain. If you believe in the power of prayer I ask you to say a little prayer for my wife. This has been a five year battle and I would like to have her healthy again. My thanks for any prayers that you can offer... Frank.

I can't thank you enough for your prayers.
Edith is a little better and may come home in a day or two. She'll now be getting the treatment that we really have high hopes for. It is hyperbaric oxygen. She'll have to sit in a pressure chamber for two 1hour sessions a day for a month or two. Hopefully this will heal the blood vessels.
A medical friend of mine tells me it can work wonders. The only question now is where it will be. Depending upon availability, it could be Cherry Point, Portsmouth Naval Hosp.or Duke Med Cen.

Just talked to Kim - 1st time since surgery. She is weak and feels awful but that is quite understandable for what she has been through. I am just thankful she made it through surgery. Please send my thanks to every one for the prayers - I truly believe they helped!  Barbara T.  05/15/00
