“Legally Blonde” is a fun, light movie that doesn’t take itself, or its audience, too seriously. Elle Woods, a Bel Air sorority girl decides to go to law school, Harvard nonetheless, to win back the boyfriend who dumped her. Initially quite a fish out of water, Elle slowly wins over the respect of the faculty and fellow students. Bringing her unique talents to whatever situation arises, Elle keeps a bright, sunny disposition in the face of all she encounters.
Though the plot is a bit thin, I think this film does a good job of reminding us not to judge people too harshly or quickly. Though she seems superficial and dumb, Elle actually shows more integrity and quick thinking skills than many of her colleagues. This movie also reminds us to keep believing in ourselves, even if others don’t. Elle’s can-do attitude and pleasant personality set a good example for all of us.
“Legally Blonde” is certainly a fun flick that will provide lots of laughs. Rated PG-13, it’s not recommended for the younger set, but its light tone and fast pace will be sure to make you smile.
