“The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” is not a book to be raced through.  It is one to be contemplated and reflected upon.  It is a fable about living a balanced and full life.

Julian Mantle, a high-profile, hard driving, successful lawyer is forced to confront his unbalanced life and lifestyle.  He undertakes a journey both physically and spiritually, and along the way learns some basic principles and techniques which enable us to live a healthy, balanced, meaningful life.

“The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” is quite amazing.  It brings together lessons and ideas touched on or explored in other books and shows how, when combined, they can help us create the life we truly desire.  As a person who has been struggling with my own demons and issues, and searching for ways to move beyond them, this book really spoke to me.  Julian relates to us the 7 Timeless Virtues of Enlightened Living.  While many of these have been covered in other ways in other books, they are synthesized and intertwined in a way that really gave me a lot of insight.  In practicing just some of these for a few days, I am amazed at the effect they have had on me.  I have been enjoying my life much more, and am looking forward to more changes and greater blessings.  They say that when the student is ready, the teacher appears.  Well, I must be ready, because this book surely taught me a lot.
