How To Detoxify Your Home & Office - Pt 4

(The Final Chapter - at least for now!)

We could do many articles on food and how it can put toxins into your body, but for this article we will just list the most important foods that must be organic and not altered in any way. These are the most likely to carry a lot of poisons if they are not organic. The list includes baby food, strawberries, rice, other grains, milk (although there is extensive research showing why milk is not a good food choice whether it is organic or not), bananas, green beans, peaches and apples and any root vegetables. It is always best to get all your foods organic if you can. Organic foods have up to 80% more nutrients and usually taste a whole lot better than non-organic.

In regards to your bedding, always use 100% cotton sheets. Any other type may contain formaldehyde to create the permanent press finish and other toxic chemicals. Never use an electric blanket. It will generate electromagnetic fields across your body and these fields may be linked to numerous bodily malfunctions and diseases.

Your children's toys are another place we have to watch out for. Many plastic toys contain polyvinyl chloride, which is considered a toxic waste if found in a landfill. It is best to purchase non- plastic toys, however this may not be realistic. A better choice is toys made from polypropylene or polypropylene, both of which are non-chlorinated.

We can't forget your pets. Flea bombs, collars, sprays and shampoos all contain pesticides, which can be harmful to pets as well as humans. A better way to get rid of pests is to feed your pet brewers yeast, about 2-3 tablespoons per day. Try rubbing its fur with clove oil, citrus or eucalyptus oil or pennyroyal oil. Garlic in the food has also been shown to help.

These are a few ideas you can put to use right away to help detoxify your home and office. It will make your life a whole lot healthier.
