I've put together an online candlelight vigil for National Homeless Animals' Day (August 17). Last year, there were over 500 candles lit during this online vigil. I hope we can top that this year. The vigil will last all month (8/1 - 8/31).

International Society for Animal Rights (ISAR) began National Homeless Animals’ Day and Candlelight Vigils to publicize dog and cat overpopulation in its overwhelming magnitude, to increase public awareness of the millions of dogs and cats killed in shelters annually for lack of homes and to emphasize the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals.
