JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Jacksonville Beaches or "Jax" as it is more commonly referred to is one of Florida's lesser known beaches.  It's also one of the least likely to be hit by a hurricane.  Jax Beaches are clean yet convenient to city life.     --- © JMP

The "Boardwalk" in Jax is well-kept and offers a variety of restaurants and bars.       © JMP

MARINELAND OF FLORIDA

Marineland was the first oceanarium in the United States and started the tourism industry in Florida.  The dolphins at Marineland are some of the oldest in captivity - and also the best trained.  They are absolutely amazing to watch.    --- © Mark Pintar

The Dolphins at Marineland steal the show and capture the hearts of young and old alike with their high-flying leaps, twists, and flips.

Marineland is also home to several species of birds, fish, and reptiles.

The dolphins at Marineland are very playful and love to interact with humans.  This photo was taken just seconds before the dolphin actually threw the basketball to me!

White Heron are prevalent through-out Florida but are particularly fond of Marineland where they try to steal the fish used  to reward dolphins. --- © Mark Pintar

Marineland's dolphin tank is viewable from different levels, including above water and below.  It is a truly spectacular site to see these creatures underwater from the window of the main aquarium.  © JMP

One of the most enjoyable features offered by Marineland is their "Touch & Feed" program.  For a nominal fee, you can feed a fish to a dolphin after their performance and later, touch a dolphin under the supervision of its trainers.  It is well worth the price!
