Sir Froggie’s Pondering
Ancient Amphibious Wisdom for a Modern Day World

DON’T BUY INTO THE BULL!

What’s your take on the world? Do you buy into the latest word or trust your own inner knowledge?   Would you run with the bulls if everyone else did or save your life with your own sanity?

Don’t buy into the bull!

Throughout history humankind – and all of nature – has struggled, triumphed, risen and fallen.  We’ve had good times and bad times, most often both at the same time.  Life can be a paradox, a balancing act we just have to flow with.  Yet we do not have to get run over by it!

Tune into just about any mainstream media source and you will find stories about how horrible things are, how “they” are out to get us, and how we’re all doomed.  Sit still more than a few seconds, and you’ll surely get trampled by all the fear-mongering bull!

But, what they tell us is true, isn’t it?  After all, it IS in print or on TV.  And they’re the experts, aren’t they?  They’re not just making stuff up.

While the media does report true statistics, they bias it.  Instead of simply reporting the latest stock market results, they bring in a panel of people who argue about what it all means and why it’s going to get worse….  No matter how good or bad the numbers are!  We don’t need their advice and bickering. Everyone knows “buy low and sell high.”  The lower they go, the easier it is to buy.  If it’s down, don’t sell and you won’t have sorrows to tell.

Here's another example: the unemployment rate is repeatedly reported with a dramatic voice and oversized graphics, telling us how the entire country is in crisis.  While it’s true, an unemployment rate of 6%, 7%, or even 8% is not what we’d like to hear, it actually means at least 92% of all working people are still employed!  The experts don’t mention that part.

All this fear-based biasing is great for ratings.  It keeps us at the edge of our seats, or buying more copies so we can protect ourselves by staying informed.  Yet the information we’re getting is beckoning us into a very dangerous place… either sending us running scared or paralyzing us in fear, feeling as if we’ve been run over.

We can either become victims of the bull, or put ourselves in greener pastures!

Information can be a great tool if we put it to use – and see beyond any biases.  If unemployment rates are up and work seems hard to find, let’s take the opportunity to upgrade our skills, expand our knowledge, change careers to something with a higher demand, or even start our own business!  There are as many jobs are there are people!  If there’s not a job already in existence, we can create our own.  What do folks need that they’re not getting?  How can we provide it?  What are we willing to do to make it happen?

People need love, they need hope, they need light to help them see a brighter future.  We can either be victims of all the bull, or bearers of the light.

Don’t buy into the bull!
