Sir Froggie’s Pondering

Ancient Amphibious Wisdom for a Modern Day World

WE EACH GET TO CHOOSE THE RIDE OF OUR LIVES
 …WHAT’S YOURS?

We’ve all heard the expression, “hold on for the ride of your life,” but if you had to describe “the ride of your life” what would it be?   An amusement park ride?  A train or boat ride?  A car ride?  An airplane adventure?  Would it be filled with speed and thrilling maneuvers or slow and gentle?

We each get to choose the ride of our lives… What’s yours?

A friend of mine once commented she felt like she “was in a metaphysical Disneyland” while in my pad.  She was referring to the positive artwork, beautifully fragranced candles and incense, a collection of healing instruments such as crystals and tuning forks, and musical instruments which were displayed in a way that invited anyone to pick them up and play.  Her soul was at ease and felt loved, nurtured, playful, and youthful again as if in a theme park of spiritual nature.   What she didn’t realize is we’re always in a “metaphysical Disneyland!”

The Disney Theme parks were first a dream in the mind of their creator, Walt Disney.  He yearned to create a play world, a safe-haven where adults and children could experience happiness, adventure, and a sense of unity.  The theme parks he created have very strict codes of conduct for those involved in their operation to ensure his dream is carried out to the fullest in the way they were designed to manifest in the “real world.”

We have all been given the ability to dream and to transform our dreams into reality.  We have the creativity to imagine it, the intuition to guide us, the ability to learn necessary skills, and the availability of others to help us create the “theme park” of our dreams!

So now we must ask ourselves: Are we taking the adventure or playing it safe?

Every moment of every day we are literally choosing and creating the ride of our lives… We get to envision it, lay out the blue prints, build it and ride it. What kind of ride are we on?   Are we happy on this ride or are we getting bored? Is the ride something we want to continue?  Is there anything else we’d like to add to it?  Do we need to change speeds, movement, function or location?  Is it worth the price we pay for it?  Do we want to try other rides or enjoy this one some more? How would we describe the ride of our lives?

We have it within us to journey to new destinations as well as to make the best of where we are planted.  Whether and how we desire to traverse our lives changes with age and experience and it’s a good idea to check in every now and then to figure out what we want and need, then ensure we manifest it in a healthy, harmonious way.

Sometimes we need to climb higher, we need to soar.  Other times we enjoy riding the rapids downstream or floating on calmer waters.  We may want to try out our sails or take it easy on the gentle circles of a merry-go-round.  We may yearn for peacefulness and tranquility or our hearts may call out for adventure.  Either way, we decide what it is that will serve our highest good and then incorporate it into our experience.

We each get to choose the ride of our lives… What’s yours?
